A murdered scorned wife. A prime suspect losing their mind literally and figuratively. A small town bakery owner whose generosity links her to the deceased and accused. When Meghan is invited to cater for the wedding of one of the oldest citizens of Sandy Bay, she’s happy for the bride-to-be and the opportunity to introduce the guests to her latest creation – orange mousse! Still, she longs for … Still, she longs for the day when she can wear a white dress and walk down the aisle to marry her Prince Charming.
On the day of the wedding, everything seems perfect. The venue is glorious. The weather is beautiful. The couple are radiating love. Until… a strange woman stops the ceremony and claims to be the wife of the groom. Things take a turn for the worse when this strange woman is found dead, a day later, on the beach.
All circumstantial and factual evidence seems to point to one suspect. The police think this person did it. The people of Sandy Bay believe this person did it. The jilted bride KNOWS this person did it.
But Meghan has her doubts. If there’s one thing that living in a small town has taught her, it’s that nothing is as it first appears. Can she piece the clues that will reveal the real killer and allow a happily ever after ending?

Another great read from Amber. The series is fantastic so if haven’t read the books, highly recommend.
Meghan and Jackie are partners in renovating a barn to make it a place to hold events. While trying to showcase the barn, a strange woman comes in and states the barn is cursed and haunted. Trying to figure out who would sabotage them, Meghan sees the woman walking down the street and follows her. Between making a new dessert that becomes a big hit, the bakery, and the barn, Meghan has her hands full. The orange mousse sounds delicious and, of course, Mrs. Sheridan is a hoot.
The Orange Mousse and other orange desserts sound wonderful. Can I place an order too? How far do you deliver? Do you share the recipes?
Starting a business is hard, especially when you are unable to determine why people will not use your business. On top of that a wedding there has its own issues which eventually lead to someone dying afterwards.
I do have a couple of issues and if someone reading this knows the answer, please let me know. Was the past supposed curse explained? The other is that the who done it was explained at the end, but I must have missed the clues leading up to it because it seemed like said to look at this person as a possible suspect and then did it.
This is my first book with this author. So you can start here and read it by itself easily. There might be a reference or two to past books but does not affect this story. Fast and easy to read in a day. Do not let book 15 deter you.
I started reading this book and stopped because I thought it was a previous book of one I had read. this book also uses a barn as an vent place and started with a wedding. My mistake came to light when I tried confirming that with the author. Guess my surprise at that. So my apologies to Ms. Crewes. I am so sorry!
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
This is book #15 in the Sandy Bay cozy mystery series and is a great addition to the series! These are quick fun reads. Meghan owns a successful bakery but her friend Jackie talks her into a partnership to renovate an old barn into an event venue including weddings. There are a few problems getting the venue up and running including the death of an unpopular person. This is a light enjoyable cozy mystery.
I really want the recipe for the Orange Mousse!
Great read with a lot of twists and turns, I did not have this one figured out! I haven’t read all the books in this series yet, but I’m going to have to. Love the characters and the location, they already feel like old friends, well, and enemies in some cases! Very entertaining read!
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
I loved this book!!! The author has created a wonderful world and some of the very best characters. As you read the books you become so interested in what will happen next. Each book can be read on it’s own but if you can start with the first book you will get so involved with what is going on that you will be excitedly waiting for the next book as it comes out.
I received an arc copy of this book for free and I just wanted to voluntarily leave a review. I want people to know that these are some great books by this author and she has others sometimes.
This book was so surprising with the who done it! So many twists, and a yummy orange mousse to boot! Not only was there a murder mystery, but a mystery about the old barn turned venue mystery. It’s like two stories in one! So much fun!
A nice, clean story. The author created characters that make you really feel as if they’re your friends.
Megan and Jackie decide to renovate an old barn to turn it into a successful event center for Sandy Bay. But someone in town is doing everything possible to make sure it isn’t a success. I received an ARC from the author of this light quick read. The review and comments are of my honest opinion.
