A lovely story of childhood friends. She knew Oliver was hers since he was fourteen and she was three days old. She waited for him but he kept fighting her because he was so much older than her. She was Miss Lydia Clair Torrence and she loved Oliver Malcolm Aloysius Farlisle, heir to the Earl of Roxwaithe. She has a sister and a brother while Oliver has two more brothers. But his youngest brother had died at sea. There are some wonderful twists to this tale of a cruel parent, his father. The characters are great and so engaging. the writing is marvelous and moves with excellent ease. It is entertaining and keeps your attention.
