I enjoyed this journey so! It has many facets: nostalgia, incredible history, angst, redemption, family, an abundance of love and best of all a Christmas that was, is, and always will be traditional to White Oaks Inn in the Great Smoky Mountains next to the beautiful Silver Falls.
So very much included in this journey, it’s hard to express everything I felt when I was reading. I went thru the emotions right along with the characters. There were a lot of them too, characters and emotions, I mean lol.
Scarlett, trying to find a solution for the Inn, hunts down Charles, who she realized she had met once in her teens, thinking he could help with this. They have an unexplainable bond, but he’s full of guilt and needs to figure himself out, before he can think of being with Scarlett. Well, she’s a fixer and truly helps him to see himself as a good person. It’s not really that cut and dried, and this journey tells it all beautifully, with many fun Christmas events, surprises and a few catastrophes to right, for much variety.
The epilogue is incredibly sweet and romantic for a happy, deep sigh ending!
I received an advance reader’s copy of #ChristmasAtSilverFalls by #JennyHale thru #NetGalley and am giving my honest thoughts and opinions voluntarily.
Scarlett Bailey and her entire family have been celebrating Christmas at her grandmother’s Inn for as long as she can remember. Christmastime in the picturesque town of Silver Falls is magical and full of memories for Scarlett. She can’t imagine spending it anywhere else. When she learns that the Inn is having serious financial problems, she takes it upon herself to find a solution. Charles Bryant, a successful property developer is staying in Silver Falls, and she’s hopeful that he will help her save the Inn. When they met, there’s an immediate spark between them, but Charles is going through a tough time and saving an Inn is the last thing on his mind. Will Scarlett be able to convince him to help her? I enjoyed this sweet, heartfelt Christmas romance. It’s a story about love, the importance of family, hope, and second chances. The characters were wonderful and easy to relate to. The chemistry between Scarlett and Charles was undeniable, and I enjoyed watching their relationship grow throughout the book. This cozy, uplifting story will make you want to curl up on your sofa with a blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, and a box of tissues. I highly recommend this book and will be checking out more books by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Christmas at Silver Falls is a heartwarming holiday romance! I read the book in one sitting and loved the characters, setting, and touching moments. The story follows Scarlett Bailey, who returns to her grandmother’s inn for what may be the last Christmas there. Scarlett has such fond memories of the wonderful family gatherings they’ve had at White Oaks Inn over the years, and she is devastated to hear that it’s not making enough income to stay open. Could this be their last holiday together there? Not if Scarlett can help it!
When Scarlett hears about Charlie Bryant, a property developer, she thinks he could be the answer to her prayers. Will this ruthless developer help her save White Oaks Inn before it’s too late? Scarlett is uncertain, especially after she learns of his plans for the town. And how will the pair deal with their growing feelings for each other?
Scarlett and Charlie are great protagonists with a wonderful, holiday-infused love story. Scarlett has a strong relationship with her family, and I love how they bring Charlie into their fold. Charlie is going through a lot, and he came to Silver Falls to hide from something. He has built up a lot of emotional walls, and it’s interesting to see Scarlett and the rest of the Silver Falls inhabitants break through them. Though Scarlett and Charlie have different feelings about the future of Silver Falls, I think they learn a lot from each other. They have amazing chemistry, and even when they disagree, you can see the sparks flying!
The town of Silver Falls sounds so quaint and charming, and I could easily imagine visiting this magical place. The shops, the inn, the Christmas party, and the wonderful sense of community add such warmth and festivity to the story, and it is a great backdrop for Scarlett and Charlie’s romance. There is another romance in the story that I really liked too that involves a friend of Scarlett’s. I always enjoy love stories that flourish during the holidays. It’s so special and magical and romantic!
A story about family, love, and holiday magic, this is a great story to read while curled up next to a warm fire. It definitely got me in the Christmas spirit with its touching moments, wonderful love story, and amazing setting. Special thanks to Forever Publishing for sending me a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
I LOVE this story! I would give it a rating of 10 if I could.
The loving, supportive and close-nit family and small town setting added special elements to the story. The reconnecting and creating a new bond with a childhood friend was something special.
I Love reading Christmas stories . I especially enjoy reading well-written and descriptive stories like this one. I liked that all of the characters in this story were very realistic – the grandmother, the family members and the town’s people.
I am looking forward to reading another one of Jenny’s books !
Delightful!
What a complete delight this audio book was! I had never read this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was expecting it to be fluffy and lightweight, so I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of emotion I encountered. I loved it!
I found tears filling my eyes and smiles warming my heart while reading Christmas in Silver Falls. Even in the worst of times, the White Oak Inn provides the true meaning of Christmas for all those who enter. I hope you visit Silver Falls and fall in love with this heartwarming story, as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy from Netgalley and Bookoture. The review and comments are my honest opinion.

First, I want to thank Jenny Hale, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Christmas at Silver Falls is a heartwarming feel-good Christmas romance by Jenny Hale. Even before you open this book you can’t but help fall in love with the cover. It looks like a beautiful picturesque Christmas card with the title planted in the middle of the scenery. The graphic artist did an amazing job and needs to be commended.
Jenny Hale is a very talented and gifted writer. I was amazed by all the detailed descriptions she put into this book. She made you feel like you were right there with the characters. After reading about Silver Falls it would definitely be a place where I would want to visit. However, not in the winter time.
One of my favorite characters in the book was Heidi (yes, I know my name is Heidi. Yes, I did smile when I saw that name in print). I loved how she wanted to go to med school. But the cute part when she was younger, she would practice on her father. That made me smile.
Another part of the story that made me tear up was when Gran was showing Heidi how to bake an Apple Pie. I never got that experience with my Gram. Reading about Gram and her relationships with her family made me miss mine.
Christmas at Silver Falls was all about family and their traditions.
Jenny had a lot of comical parts of the book that I laughed hard at. However, there were some serious moments as well.
This book has a little bit of something for everyone in it. I guarantee you at the end of the book you will be craving homemade Christmas cookies just like the ones Gran made. The Chocolate Peanut Butter ones were calling my name!
What a wonderful sounding place to spend Christmas! I adored the story and characters!
Definitely add to your holiday reading list! Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the early copy
