I just loved this book as you never knew what would happen next and you literally never knew who you could trust and if it was just Haley actually losing the plot due to the guilt she felt. I loved how you kept guessing at what happened in her passed as you knew it was bad but once you find out the details and the ripple effect you start to not feel so sorry for Haley. This will have you wrapped up in your blanket while you read due to the suspense and anxiousness you feel while reading it, as it is that good!!
WOW! The Lies She Told A Psychological Suspense Thriller, my fourth amazing read from author N.L. Hinkens, my second in a row today. After reading/listening to The Other Woman, I followed with this book. I enjoyed the outstanding Hitchcockian suspense story-line with its intricately woven twists and turns. Norma (N.L.) Hinkens is on my radar of great authors! I was given an Audible copy of this book back in April and am just now getting around to voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Narrator Brittany Goodwin’s wonderful narration adds to the book’s enjoyment. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
This book kept me turning pages as the story twisted and turned its way to the conclusion. I can hardly wait for Ms. Hinkens next suspense book.
The Lies She Told by Norma Hinkens is a psychological drama about a young woman who makes a decision in her teens that follows her into adulthood. What would you do to change that one thing you did that changed the course of your life?
Haley Burrows has everything it takes to be a successful, happy young woman; she’s young, beautiful, and has the fast track to a great job. So why is she so unhappy?
Back in high school, Haley was part of the elite group known as the quads. Comprised of a small group of girls, the quads were the who’s who in the school. The ones everyone wanted to be. The ones nobody wanted to cross. If you were in with them, you were golden. If you weren’t, well, you better duck and cover. What Haley and the other did changed their lives forever. Now has it come back to haunt Haley? Or has one of the other girls decided to spill the beans?
This story is full of suspense and twists as Haley tries to figure out who is stalking her before it’s too late. A great late night read!
I received an ARC but this review is my own voluntary submission. Hang on to your seat because this book is going to take you for the ride of your life! This book was mind blowing. You will want to check your locks and leave the lights on. I highly recommend this book to anyone loving suspense. Enjoy!
The Lies She Told is a very interesting story with a lot of twists and turns. A page turn that shows that people who comit bullying may also grow a conscience and suffer with the actions they took in the past. A page turner that keeps you reading to learn how the main character attains redemption. Well written with a good plot!
OMG! I was on the edge of my seat through most of this book. It’s a dark story, very well written and had me chewing my nails and being pretty much a nervous wreck. It’s exciting, scary, has danger with a lot of suspense and action. The ending, for me, was a gasping-out-loud shock and awe surprise.
Haley and her other three Quad sisters were terrible bullies in high school and all of them are ashamed of and haunted by things they’d done. They have a terrible secret they’ve kept since high school
Did one of them talk accidentally or purposely about what happened? Are all four girls being stalked, or is it just Haley? She’s so frightened that she hires a PI to find out who might be stalking her. Does this person or persons want her dead? Is her husband in on any of this? You will love reading this book to find out for yourself. If you like Stephen King or Judith Lucci. you will love this book. I sure did! This is a psychological thriller that keeps on giving until you are plum worn out, but very satisfied.
This book is listed as a psychological thriller. It should be listed as a psychological thriller that will leave you breathless and putting new locks on your doors!!!
This could so happen in todays tech savvy world which makes it so unnerving. I’ve read a lot of really good books the last few months but none have left me checking my doors and locks a second time like this one.
The author has created characters that are very believable. The conversations spot on. You really won’t want to put this book down.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy but the opinions are my own.
