This was short but gave us more to Ever and Four’s story and all the challenges they now face even more so after The Moth and The Flame book. I was so excited when I found out about Evermore because so far Four and Ever have been my favorites. This was well worth the read and so enjoyable.
Evermore is a sweet little morsel. I could never get enough of Ever and Four, and my new little loves Lou and Wren. It made me even more anxious to read Jamie and Bees story. It focuses on the lead up to prom and the drama surrounding Four, Ever and Bee. It’s a perfect little book bite.
Loved this short Novella giving us a glimpse back into what’s going on with Ever and Four. The ending was a relief. This makes me even more anxious for the drama to come in The Punk and the Plaything!
Love these characters for evermore! 5 stars
This novella made me smile and made me cry. I loved the continuation of the story and characters I loved from the first 2 books, but the 2 main narrators were Four and Ever. I loved the combination of heat, heart and emotions in this novella. This is a perfect lead-up to The Punk and The Plaything coming in December, and I can’t wait for it! I definitely recommend the When Rivals Play series!
Forever and Always
There is never enough Four and Ever! This quick read will give you your fix as we wait impatiently for more of this captivating series!
Going to prom is a right of passage, but what’s the point if you can’t go with the man you love. Four would rather skip it if she is forced to sit back and watch Ever go with Barbie.
Hiding their love is becoming more of a challenge. Not being able to love out loud is taking it’s toll. Ever is going to have to choose between love or obligation.
This continues to be an all time favorite series for me. Each new book sheds light on their story and their beautiful, all-consuming love continues to grow. I look forward to the next book in the series.
“Only ever you.”
Evermore is a 15k word bonus Novella that takes you back into the lives of the Blackwood Keep Gang. For anyone who has read The Peer and the Puppet and The Moth and the Flame you will love this.
I’m obsessed with this series so any words that BB Reid wants to write about these characters, I will scoop them up and read them in a heartbeat.
”Don’t you know I’m king, baby?”
“Only when I say so.”
I love Four and Ever and I will never get enough of their connection and their love story.
An addictive series that I will never get enough of.
I can’t wait for The Punk and The Plaything.
I’ve read the other 2 books in the series so I really do think you need to read them to understand what’s going on with everyone in this novella. Having said that….omg, I feel like it’s about to go down soon. Four and Ever need their HEA!
“You’ve seen the lengths I went to drive you away. How far do you think I’m willing to go to keep you?”
I was a big fan of The Peer and the Puppet, but the ending was truly a HUGE letdown and I swore off the series after that. When I was notified of this releasing, I was ECSTATIC…..while it is a short read (about an hour), it was exactly what was needed for this series to carry on.
“I love you, Four.” The lazy purr she gave had me holding her tighter. “I bet I love you more.” Lifting my head, I looked into her eyes. “Not fking possible.”
Told in dual POV, this novella is part of the When Rivals Play series and comes after TPATP and The Moth and the Flame. The events in this novella take place after both books, so it is recommended to read both of those prior to this one. I did not read book 2 (I was bitter, sue me) and wasn’t lost at all however it did make me eager to go back and read Wren and Lou’s story.
Four is still sharing Ever with Bee (Barbie) for the sake of protecting her. Only a few more months and then she won’t have to keep up appearances…..finally be able to claim Ever as hers in front of the world. With prom coming up, Four is reminded how much the situation sucks….but she agrees to go.
Ever still hates the situation he is in, but its determined to protect Bee in the only way he can. Four is more understanding than she should be and he refuses to lose her in the process. With prom approaching, he wants more than anything to forget it all and take the love of his life.
Only a few more months……but when Ever is put in a situation that will test his loyalty to Bee or his love for Four, he must make a choice no matter the consequences. Break her heart or break his promise?
Although this ends on a slight cliff, its clear the purpose is to set the stage for book 3…..one I very much think will finally give Jamie his time in the spotlight.
“Four would never understand, and I would never forgive myself. I wanted Bee safe, but in this instant, the cost was too great.”
Overall, this was very much necessary as a buffer between book 2 and 3, and gives us Ever and Four fans what we desperately wanted. Although I know we will see plenty more of these two in the coming installments, but I am thankful to B.B. for writing this short piece that focused solely on them and the unorthodox “relationship” both Ever and Four’s loyalty put them in. Is this closure on that “chapter” of their relationship? I wouldn’t say that, but if book 3 is about who I think (based off this novella) then I am sure that closure will be given in the next installment.
“Since the moment Four agreed to be mine, my only duty should have been to her heart. And I was fking that up severely.”
If you are new to the When Rivals Play universe, back up and read the others first. Otherwise, DIVE IN—its 100% worth it!
“I almost lost you, Four. It will be a long time before I let you out of my sight.”
I will “Forever and Always” love Ever and Four story!!! After reading The Moth and the Flame we had this uncertainty about Four and Ever and we needed more (we always want more) so Bebe being amazing as she is gave us this novella that makes us love more this amazing couple but left us craving for more and SO READY for Jamie’s story and THE PUNK AND THE PLAYTHING!
This novella was short but very significant, now we know where Ever and Four stands and I love them even more!!! If you’re a fan of When Rivals Play series you CAN’T miss this!!!

It is absolutely no secret that BB Reid is my unicorn author. It’s crazy that I only discovered her a year ago and promptly read almost everything she has ever published. (I’ve been saving her duet for a rainy day but I know I’m about to break and read them.) The Peer and the Puppet was the first book I read from her. I remember for weeks after, my mind kept wandering back to the world and the characters in that book. So, when she decided to do a novella for the Read Me Romance podcast about the characters from TPATP I knew I needed it in my life. She then announced she’d be releasing it in ebook so I decided I’d wait and read it for myself!
I loved being back in this world with Ever and Four in Blackwood Keep. The gang is headed to prom in this novella. I adored seeing Ever so messed up over things going on and how it could be effecting Four. Hello Swoon Alert! There were also things that happened here that I did not see coming! YES! In a novella!! But that ending…. that has me dying for The Punk and the Plaything to be released!!
If you haven’t been reading this series then you’re insane. The good news is, you can right your wrongs!! It’s not too late! The first book, The Peer and the Puppet is only $1.99 on Kindle or FREE with Kindle Unlimited! I suggest BB Reid to everyone. Her characters and world building are just next level but the stories she spins… other worldly. If you’re still reading this then I don’t know why.. you should be pulling this series up in KU right meow.
I’ll never get enough Ever and Four and the WHEN RIVALS PLAY hang. This was the perfect little “appetizer” to keep me satisfied, but left wanting more. Now I’m even more anxious to read THE PUNK AND THE PLAYTHING!
5 “only ever you” stars

Ever and Four..sigh..I love these two! Evermore is a short novella, it is a super good read that leaves you wanting more which can be frustrating for us When Rivals Play fans-lol, but I’m okay with it because I know we will get our ending with these two, B.B. Reid just has to tease us a bit, I gotta love and admire how her mind thinks.
