This one starts off a little differently with the Mack needing to be saved by the Astrid. Astrid can and will use a gun which Mack isn’t fond of using them. I thought this was an interesting little tidbit. The chemistry between these two characters catches fire fairly quick given the circumstances in which that they meet. Now that is not to say that Mack doesn’t make some unilateral decisions that weren’t the wisest choices but it does make for some heated scenes. Astrid is a bit reckless with a caring side that tends to get her into some sticky situations. I enjoyed catching up with previous characters that appear in this story but the story is focused on the main couple with a happy ending for them. I am always happy to see a new book release in this series which I recommend.
Action Packed and Very Steamy!
This story was intense, action packed and very steamy. Right from the start the story has you on the edge of your seat in a wild roller coaster ride of action and intrigue. It’s an intense ride. And the steam coming from the pages is highly combustible!
Astrid and Mack are fantastic characters. Both are strong and powerful in their own unique way. When they are together the magnetism that draws them closer together is explosive and intense. They can’t help but be near each other. Astrid and Mack are definitely made to be together.
Everything about this story is fantastic and amazing. The writing is terrific and definitely makes me want to read more. Highly recommend.
Wild Card is the 9th book of the Running with the Devil series. Now let me say at the outset that this series is stellar so a new book meeting the excellent quality of it says something very good indeed. Jasmin Quinn is one of my favorite authors, at the highest part of my list in fact, and I’m never disappointed when I buy one of her books. She’s that good. Trust me on this; she’s worth the investment of your time and attention.
This is the story of Astrid and Mack, both of whom we have met in previous books. Met but not gotten to know that is. In Wild Card, we get to learn of who they are on an intimate level, and honestly, they are perfect for each other. Both of them caught up in a criminal world that they understand and walk in quite comfortably. Because of this, they also understand each other; they are two puzzle pieces who just fit together well. However… this love is hard won, through much pain and many obstacles.
Jasmin’s world in this series quite simply works well. I believe it; it rings true as do the characters that inhabit it. I forget sometimes that these people are fictional, and I find myself emotionally connected to them. I care about them and want them to succeed. This is the gift of Jasmin’s writing. We get transported to very interesting places, peopled by equally interesting characters. I highly recommend anything this author writes, and this story meets her high standards.
