Stand-alone Steamy Weekends romance, complete with HEA–and plenty of heat and heart along the way!Juliette PierceAs a type-A planner, I lived my life by lists. I thrived off of completing projects. Yet, one task had eluded me. I was still a virgin. With a milestone birthday right around the corner, my status was looming over me like a dark cloud. To add insult to injury, the only man I’d … insult to injury, the only man I’d attempted to give my V-card to was going to be staying at the resort I ran and he’d requested that I be his personal concierge.
I’d done my best to forget Romeo Whitehall even existed. That goal was made all the more difficult since he was the drummer of a popular band who frequently graced the tabloids. It had been twelve years since I’d seen my brother’s best friend turned rock star and now we’d be spending the weekend alone in a secluded villa.
Romeo Whitehall
My best friend’s little sister was supposed to be off-limits to me. I should have never developed feelings for the copper-haired girl with big brown eyes and smile that could light up Times Square. But then again, I’d never been very good at following the rules.
I’d loved Juliette Pierce for so long I couldn’t remember what not loving her felt like. But I’d screwed everything up. After being MIA for over a decade, I prayed that it wasn’t too late to make things right.
One virgin. One rock star. One weekend alone. What could go wrong?

Absolutely loved Romeo and Juliette. Thank goodness it doesn’t wnd like Shakespeare la story. I feel in love with the story and what they had to fight through in order to finally get their HEA. I feel like this is a second chance, brothers best friend type book. Pining for each other from afar must have been horrible but glad they went through that so they were strong characters. Definitely a 5 star read.
Romeo and Juliette’s story was so fun, one of those make you feel good and laugh out loud. You just can’t wait for them to get their happily ever after. Melanie Shawn always does a fantastic job with all the romance stories they write.
I totally loved reading Romeo and Juliette’s love story in Resisting Romeo by the amazing Melanie Shawn, the third book in their Steamy Weekends series. Juliet works at the Oasis resort and this type-A organizer survives using the lists she creates. As her thirtieth birthday approaches she has one major reject, she is still a virgin; not that she plan for this. For as long as she can remember, Juliette has always been in love with her brother’s best friend and an attempt to have him be her first, failed big time. She had no idea what she was going to do since this man just requested that she be his personal concierge at the resort her birthday weekend. Romeo was the drummer for the band Valentine, and he knew his best friend’s little sister was supposed to be off-limits; despite having feeling for her for years. After not seeing her for years and hoping he hadn’t been forgotten, he knew it was time to make things right between them. Hopefully this weekend would give him the chance to prove to Juliette that he loved her, always had and always would. Now if only everything would go according to plan; so they don’t end up ill-fated like Shakespeare’s pair.
Melanie Shawn wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. This sister team provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and fantastic characters giving Romeo and Juliette a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Resisting Romeo to other readers and I can’t wait for the next book in this series, Juliette’s brother, Jared’s steamy weekend.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Continue to love Melanie Shawn and their storylines! Meeting as children and bonding through their difficult childhoods, Juliette and Romeo were best friends growing up and spending all their time together despite their age difference. But when Juliette puts her feelings on the line on her 18th birthday and Romeo doesn’t reciprocate them, she cuts him off completely and dives into her work. Twelve years later, Romeo has achieved stardom through his band, but once the band breaks up he starts to realize everything he’s missed in that time – one of which being acting on his feelings for Juliette. Putting together a plan where she is forced to spend time with him, Romeo goes to Juliette’s work on her birthday weekend to win her over. With her past, Juliette is not easily swayed by Romeo after all the years have passed, and this storyline really focuses on them repairing the friendship they once had and also building a relationship especially after addressing Juliette’s virginity. Overall, I really loved this storyline and definitely want to read the other books in the series. I also cannot wait for Jared’s story!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another great visit back to Oasis. Another edition to the steamy weekends series. I like that the timing went perfectly with the other books. This one was about Romeo Whitehall and Juliette Pierce yes for real. Can the love that got away 12 years ago be rekindled or is it to late? Absolutely love, love, love the ending.
Loved this emotionally thrilling, sexy, fun and engaging romantic journey filled with exciting charters, witty banter, strained loyalties and a passion that will no longer be ignored…. Excellent reading adventure!
The Shakespeare story has nothing on this!!
Romeo and Juliet is a love for the ages. These two have a love that was meant to be from a very early age. But 1 night of Jules’ vulnerability caused over a decade of the best friends to have no contact. Now, Romeo is going to stay at the Oasis, and he wants just Juliet to be available to him for what other employees generally perform.
This book was so good! Such a great pace! You won’t want to put it down once you begin reading!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
I really enjoyed this story! From the beginning, their story was one of sweet love & affection. Juliette was humiliated at being turned down & didn’t year what Romeo had to say. He knew they both needed to grow & mature before they settled down. Juliette needed to live a little to be sure of her feelings.
This story was something else. How can the love & affection be so sweet & tender but at the same time be so hot & intense? These characters were expertly crafted & each had their own issues. Both were abandoned by parents & struggled to get past it. I enjoyed the glimpses into Liam & CiCi’s romance & can’t wait for Jared & Alexis!
Resisting Romeo is a fun, sweet and steamy romance that has you wanting more from the characters. Romeo and Juliette were absolutely perfect together once they moved on from their past. What a wonderful read. I can’t wait for more from the Oasis.
Melanie Shawn you two have outdone yourselves with this book. I have to say, one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year. I so loved Romeo and how could you not fall in love even more with him on his quest to win back Juliette. From the car, to Scrabble, recreating family breakfasts to the ultimate hay maze, he is the perfect hero who definitely deserves his heroine. I enjoyed watching these two finally find their way back to each other. I really liked reading about their back story when they were younger and how it made them the people they are today. The ending to their story, couldn’t have been better. Definitely one of my favorite Melanie Shawn couples. Perfect story, ladies! Excited for Jared’s story in 2021.
Romeo is a rock star. A rock star that is in love with his best-friends little sister. Juliette is a beautiful workaholic that has been in love with a rock star practically her whole life.
After Romeo helped Juliette (Jules) out of a hay maze when she was 6, they were pretty much inseparable. They remained best-friends growing up. They told each other things that they never told anyone else.
But all that changed the night of Jules 18th birthday, when she confessed her love to Romeo, and asked him to be the man to take her virginity. She was in his hotel room with lingerie on waiting for him to come back to the hotel. Her night didn’t go as planned. Not only did Romeo not come back to the hotel until wee hours in the morning but once he got there and seen her, he told her it wasn’t going to happen. Crushing Jules emotionally, she ran out of the room in total humiliation.
It’s been 12 years since Jules and Romeo have had any contact. All that changes when Romeo comes to the resort she helps manage, for the weekend, reserving the best suite and asking for Jules to be the only one in his room helping with services that normally other staff are responsible for.
I can’t explain how fantastic this book is. The love you feel from both of these two is incredible. Romeo is a total dream boat.
The whole book was just so good, but I think a couple of my favorite parts include, the letter, the lips tattoo, and of course the ending hay maze. I don’t want to give any spoilers so your going to have to read it to know what I am talking about, but trust me, you will fall in love as much as I did.
This was truly a beautiful romantic story.
