My marriage is healing, and my baby girl is growing like a weed. So why does it seem like all good things are coming to an end?Prison changes a man–or maybe he was always this corrupt and I was just too blind to see the monster hidden beneath the chains. He still wants me but he can’t have me.It’s about time someone showed him you don’t always get what you want, and I’m going to be the one to do … going to be the one to do it.

3 HEA stars!!
This is the follow up book from “We We’re Memories”. And yes I put “We Were Memories” in my top books of all times. So I knew going into this book the bar was set high!
This continues on a little after the last book leaves off. Roman is in prison and Leylah is back with Ryan. But is everyone happy?!?!
Well I love the cover of this book (though I don’t think it fits the story much) and I love the shit out of Roman. But this story fell a little flat for me. I was expecting some craziness like the last book but it didn’t seem to come. What I will say is this book is more of a finding yourself in your relationship book. This dedicated time to co-parenting, making a marriage happy after cheating, new relationships and old friendships. So for some I think this will be a beautiful book but after book one I was look for a little more. I will say that I still love every single character in this book as well.
I felt like the writing in this book was a bit amateur and too much stuff kind of ran together but the flow was great. You know an author has great potential when certain things flop and you still come back and don’t skim. I think book one just rocked my world so hard that I wanted that intensity. I was touched by quite a bit and as a woman who has been with my husband for quite awhile I actually took a lot from this.
I also want to say I tried to dislike Ryan but I just couldn’t. But I was Team Roman from beginning to end!
** I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.**
This is the conclusion of Leylah and Roman’s story. Leylah is back with her husband Ryan and raising her daughter Maddy. Roman is still in prison when a surprise visit changes everything. He is more determined than ever to see the daughter he has with Leylah. The twists and turns in this story were crazy. All in all a good read about life and learning when to let go and hang on.
Four Solid Stars. A bit of suspense is added, not as action packed as the previous book. Secrets are revealed ,and we are introduced to new character. And now presents an interesting twist. Relationships are changed. HEA. We Were Memories is a must before reading this book.
I honestly was dreading this book. The first book made me want Leylah to leave Ryan for Roman. I was really thrown for a loop when Roman sacrificed her and Maddy to get his revenge. It wasn’t the ending I expected. I wasn’t thrilled she ended up back with Ryan after all that. Now, to see Ryan and Leylah so happy together I hate to have to start this roller coaster ride over again. I wasn’t sure where this book was going to take me. I was happy to see it gave me the closure I didn’t know I needed.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
**3.5 Stars**
We Were Forever is a follow up book to We Were Memories by Brandi Aga. This is the rest of Roman and Leylah’s story.
Leylah made a mistake and she’s living with the consequences everyday. But in all the negative that surrounds her, she has great pride in being able to hold her baby girl Maddie. She continues to work through her marriage and raise her daughter the best way possible. But when a blast from the past shows up unexpected wanting what he can’t have, Leylah has no choice but to give Roman a little piece of her. Visitation with his daughter.
Roman was supposed to serve a life sentence in prison, but it pays to have a ruthless kickass lawyer in your corner, willing to fight for your freedom. Now a free man, the only thing Roman wants is the woman he let go and his daughter. But he’s about to come to the realization that you don’t always get what you want.
We Were Forever is a novel about working through growing pains in order to do what’s best for your child. It’s about putting your own selfish wants and needs to the side and seeing the bigger picture.
My Thoughts:
In being completely honest, I have to say, I wasn’t a huge fan of We Were Memories. I liked the storyline, but I felt a disconnect with the main characters, Leylah. But after finishing the first book I was curious to see where this triangle would end up. I mean after everything that happened at the end of We Were Memories, who wouldn’t be intrigued!!
I requested an arc of We Were Forever and before diving into this one I decided to internally set every view I had for the first book on the back burner. And I have to say, I was greatly surprised by this book! I loved the whole storyline. I loved the direction Brandi Aga went with this one…. In all honesty (again) I feared the worst, but this novel answered all my questions flawlessly.
One thing that I couldn’t grasp though was Erin (Leylah’s supposed best friend). I despised her in this novel. I felt at times this part of the novel didn’t even have to be there. I would have been fine with reading all about Leylah, Roman, and Ryan working through their shit and I’d be happy.
Overall, this was a great read. I enjoyed the romance, the angst, the suspense, and all the feels. I also loved the fast paced vibe throughout this novel and watching Leylah mature through it all. in order to avoid spoilers I’m just going to say, I would have liked to see a little more intimacy between two particular characters. A little hand holding here or there, a random kiss, a few more sexy time moments. Maybe a few more I love you’s thrown around randomly. I needed a bit more and that’s why I rated this novel a 3.5 stars.

Firstly, I forgive you for that teaser, boo lol
Secondly, I have no words. I know right, me, no word? 😉
This is not what I was expecting, but that isn’t a bad thing.
Just like book one, We Were Forever is real world. It leaves you in knots with all the feels. And do not even start me with Roman and Mads. #bestillmybeatingheart
This isn’t Roman and Leylah’s story. Or even a love story really.
This is a life story.
After some time in prison, Roman has finally been acquitted thanks to an old friend, Veronica who wants more than just to see him outside of the courtroom.
Roman wants what he has lost and is determined to prove he can be the father that Maddy needs, he pulls out all the stop and steps up the swoon level.
But Leylah has moved on and made a life for herself and Maddilyn with Ryan and doesn’t want Roman anywhere near any of them.
Ryan … I don’t want to like him lol I am #TeamRome all the way, but he does redeem himself in this book.
Veronica is a total spanner in the works.
An old flame of Rome’s who gets him out of prison and onto the right path to having a relationship with his daughter. But she does want more. It’s hard not to feel for V when she is trying to just be with the man she loves while he is thinking of another woman.
And let’s not forget about Blaze and Erin who have now moved in together… total wtf moment.
There is sooo much is happening. So many twists, bombshells and it plays with all the emotions while you try and figure out what is really going on.
It is so hard to go into this review without giving away a ton of spoilers.
Just know, you will not be disappointed with this story, it was well worth the wait.
