I loved this series so much. I love the seeing Charlotte grow from a young sheltered princess to a fierce mother and queen. I love young and how he seems a bit spoiled, but is willing to give the ultimate sacrifice. Minseo is an intriguing variety of emotions. I love the twist on Camelot and how Merlin is a woman who is just looking for a deep love connection. Wonderfully done!
This is an excellent box set overall. I have placed the three reviews for each book below.
Book one 4 stars
I enjoyed this book but felt that it was a bit disjointed in areas. It was well written and the characters and story were relatively well developed. I liked the idea of the different characters having different chapters but found myself getting a bit confused at times. Overall I liked the individual character personalities and their relationship dynamics changed and evolved throughout the book. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion and hot chemistry. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in the series!!
Book two 5 stars
I really enjoyed this book. The book was well written and the characters and story were well developed. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. Unlike book one I was able to follow each of the chapters with ease and enjoyed the different perspectives. The characters had individual personalities and the character dynamics changed and evolved through the book. I’d highly recommend this book!!
Book three 5 stars
This book is the best of the trilogy. It follows from book two seamlessly and is well developed and well written. The characters all have individual personalities and the character dynamics continue to develop and evolve through the book. The story is action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. It is an excellent conclusion to the trilogy. I’d highly recommend this book!!
Overall an excellent trilogy that I’d highly recommend!!
Kingdom Cold stood out to me because of many reasons. First, it builds a whole magical universe surrounding well-developed diverse characters in a way that feels unique and satisfying. Second, that love triangle!! I GENUINELY didn’t know who I wanted to “win” up until the very end, and even now I wonder…
I love books that you think about long after you’ve read them. This series definitely did that for me.
Brittni Chenelle is a new author for me but I’m very happy to have found her. Kingdom Cold is a fantastic series and having all three books available in “The Complete Series Box Set” is superb as these are not stories that you want to wait between books for. Well written, with a highly imaginative plot and great cast of characters, the only downside to these books is loss of sleep, as you will not want to put them down.
ne of the things I love best about boxed sets is the ability to read a story from it inception to it’s conclusion without break. And this is one of those stories that needs that flow.
Brittni is a newer author, and being so new it was expected that her craft would grow with practice. And it did so, very well actually. In the beginning, we were told a story about a princess from one land, 2 princes from another land and a very petty, infantile King from yet another land. A forced marriage brought the princess to the castle of the 2 princes. While there she met her future husband, a young, well just barely a man who was shy and reticent and not easy to get to know. She also met his brother who was outgoing, fun and interesting to be around. There was a threat of war which had the whole castle on edge and her marriage was a way for one kingdom to join with the other in the hopes of keeping their freedom from the pillaging king. With all this tension, and with duty calling on them, both brothers reacted differently. So that left the princess extremely confused. In this book we experience war, teenagers forced into arranged marriages, and the confusion felt by those too young to be pressed into such important and everlasting duties.
So in book 1 the stage is set for tragedy and heartbreak. War has ruined the lives of many, and has caused our main characters grief and heartache.
In book 2, we follow the life of the princess who has lost her home to war and has had to make a life for herself without the auspices of any kingdom behind her. Posing as a commoner she finds herself making a life that is comfortable, if not wealthy, content if not happy.
We also follow the devastation of a prince who has suffered a major loss and is having difficulty dealing with both his grief and the guilt he feels for letting the princess go off on her own without any protection. He acts as boys just turned men often will, carousing and causing havoc, to the complete disappointment of his family. He convinces himself that without him to protect her the princess must have died, providing him with validity for not having gone to look for her
When he hears she’s alive, he leaves everything behind for this second chance at being noble. He goes to look for her. So book 2 takes us through their lives as they try to put the pieces of a broken, war torn life back together again. Whether they can do this or not, I’ll leave to you to read.
In book 3, it all comes to a head. This book dots every i and crosses every t. We get to see what exactly happened at the beginning of the war all the way through to the end. Again, what happens is for you to read. Suffice it to say, unusual as it is, we are given a genuine conclusion and left with no thoughts of disappointment that something was forgotten or the conclusion was unsatisfactory.
This author, Brittni Chenelle, went from being a bit of a hesitant writer in book 1 to a phenomenal one in book 3. Watching a young author grow like that is a wonderful thing to see. And being able to experience it all at once with it all in one book is even better. And this is why I love boxed sets.
This series was so wonderfully done, and done in such a way as to bring complete closure. It is a true example of how much a writer can grow and blossom into a fine author in her own right. Welcome to the world of authors that I will always want to read with each series they produce, Brittni Chenelle!
This book was given to me as an ARC, and in return I am providing an honest and unbiased review in my own words and of my own volition.
This is a fantastic boxset that captured me right from the first page. This is an epic story that is fast paced and full of action that had me on the edge of my seat. The Characters are very well developed. This is definitely a must read.
