As the only she-wolf in a generation, Lucia McGraw’s destined to mate with a Wild Lake Alpha. An arranged marriage will cement the peace on Wild Lake and secure her brother’s power among the packs for decades to come. There’s just one problem. Free spirit Lucia’s never been one to do what she’s told. To her brother’s constant frustration, she never misses a chance to raise a little hell. When … Lucia finds an outlaw shifter trespassing on pack lands, chasing him off is just the kind of trouble Lucia loves to stir up. But this cat stands his ground and ignites a primal need in her she wasn’t expecting. Acting on it could raise a little too much hell.
For Lucia, catching this tiger by the tail might just bring the packs to the brink of war.
Clint Yeager wasn’t looking for trouble. After a brutal shifter war in South America, he’s just hoping to lick his wounds and get as far north as he can. But he’s never seen anything like Lucia before. He thought female shifters were extinct. Her feral, passionate nature stirs his inner tiger past the point of control. The smart thing to do would be to keep on running and forget he ever saw her. But, his animal has other ideas and pursuing her might just put Clint in the crosshairs of every wolf shifter in the country.
Reader’s Note: This is BOOK 2 in the Wild Lake Origins Series. Each book in the series as well as the companion series, The Wild Lake Wolves, are standalone books that can be read in any order.

This may be my favorite new to me (paranormal shifters) romance series, and this second book in Wild Lakes is a very good fit, with great characters, lots of action, and some seriously sensual romance. I loved the twist, and I think you’ll enjoy it too. But ssh–no spoilers. 😉
Sexy, Smart, and Thoroughly Enjoyable. You Will Crave More… I wrote and erased a thousand words trying to decide what to say about this book. Mainly because “Stolen Mate” by Kimber White is so much more than a paranormal romance. It is beyond the normal “boy meets girl and finds out they’re fated mates” lexicon of the genre. The writing is more complex, the tone much more thoughtful. This book is an intricately written story of a soul mate connection. It is a tale of two people slated by the universe to be whole. A story of one being born to complete the other and having to navigate the social and familial expectations that go along with their socially constructed lives.
This book is also an allegory for far bigger things such as social identity and inter-group conflict. The concept of insiders and outsiders within a social group, and how those different from us are often viewed and treated. It is a book about classism, it is a book about racism, it is a book about how beings often fear what they do not know or understand.
A most importantly, it is a vibrant, intense, fast paced story that will steal your breath in places and keep your heart pounding consistently throughout.
White beautifully illustrates through Clint and Lucia the hurdles a couple from different groups face, but also the conflict their coupling creates within the fabric of the family and community groups in which they reside. She masterfully portrays the complex emotions all others surrounding them go through, also demonstrating how each and every one of us move, live, breath, love, and come to terms with things in our own time, and at our own pace.
“Stolen Mate” is refreshingly intelligent.
It is a book to be savored. A book to be pondered and reflected upon. And it is also a book to be thoroughly enjoyed because it is as sexy and smoldering as it is smart. Clint and Lucia’s connection singes every page and by the end you will want a hundred more books about them.
I had never read a book by Kimber White before, but I can honestly say if her other works are as intelligent, honest and heartfelt as this one I will be reading them all.
At first I did not think I was going to enjoy this book but it did get better and better.
I like the shifter books. They are usually good stories.
If you enjoy paranormal were animals this is your book! It was easy to read with a fast paced story. I liked the variety of characters and twists in the. Storyline!

This was an intriguing read. Slight spoiler alerts ahead
Slightly different take on a shifter pack that is actually split into multiple packs living in a small area, each with their own territories and they all split a lake, as well as share a business. Some of the storyline seemed a bit jumpy/sloopy, not the whole time just in certain spots it would come off almost choppy/stilted. The chemistry between the characters was great, I feel some of the cutting off from the pack/ mind linking should have been explained better. Wondering if the jags will ever catch up to Clint, or any of his other enemies ( I do wish it was a little more in depth about tigers and how they operate and more explained then Jarreds short outburst and Clint’s small comments, it kind of felt like Clint’s story on how he got to pack territory was thrown together. In the synopsis it says hes just looking for a place to heal/ lick his wounds ( he doesnt arrive injured or put off that his employers were taken over ( dont really know if he considered anyone a friend, it doesnt go into that), and that he was on his way North and had an overwhelming urge to stop in, but was also possibly running from the jags that took over the other territory. I felt if it was just him moving jobs, stick to that – tigers maybe like to roam so he didnt know what he was looking for just knew he had to move on- or if he was on the run I wish it would have dealt with that more)
Did they do anything with Peter’s shed ( the one he had planned to chain Luc in?)
All in all a good book, enough to have a 4 star because I was intrigued throughout and didnt want to put it down even with the couple of thoughts I had about storyline and such
You won’t want to put this book down!!
Stolen Mate by Kimber White is part of her Wild Lake Wolves Prequel series. It’s a wonderful story about Lucia one of the few she-wolves in the US packs. Lucia is a young woman and she doesn’t realize how she is affecting the males in her pack and the other packs of Wild Lake. She doesn’t believe that by refusing to pick a mate she could cause a pack war. When she meets an outsider and tiger shifter she starts to feel differently about herself and what she might want for her future. The characters are some of the most well known from Kimber’s Wild Lake Wolves series.. It’s wonderful to see how the characters got their start in the packs so long ago. Getting background on Lucia and the Wild Lake pack members was terrific. I’ve loved the Wild Lake Wolves series from the beginning so having this insight into their past was great. I truly hope that Kimber will write more stories that include the Wild Lake Wolves in them in the future. There are so many characters that have stories to be told. I received an ARC from the author. This is my voluntary honest review.

At first it was a little slow for me. Plus what happened to the Canadian Wolf Shifter Client was with? Well that was it in a nut shell because Omg everything went crazy after that. It was so good I couldn’t put it down. Yeah this is an all nighter. Definitely a Must Read!
Lucia McGraw is a Wolf Shifter and trouble. She wasn’t like her twin Jarred, she was restless, she didn’t have a clue what she wanted, she just knew that it wasn’t Jarred as her alpha. Lucia was first born and a alpha herself with the same powers as Jarred if not more though she didn’t want to be Alpha of the McGraw Pack. Lucia had other problems though she was going in to her “Rise” (Heat) with being the only full blooded she-wolf in all the wolf packs it was not only double trouble but triple.
Clint Yeager is a Tiger Shifter he has been wondering around since the jaguar battle. Something led him a Wild Lake, Michigan but what? When he saw her at the bar he knew he was almost sure of it this was his mate.
I have voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my own and honest.
I’m so excited about this series. The prequel was exciting and so different than other shifter stories. Ms. White always adds that something special and is Clint special–of course Lucia as an extremely rare she-wolf. She’s twin to the wolf pack alpha and more than gives him a run. She’s supposed to be compliant and political. Not her. She doesn’t want to be controlled or followed. She’s capable of taking care of herself. Yet, it isn’t easy when every alpha male wants her. Mating with any pack leader has more involved than she is willing to accept.
She didn’t know what she was going to do but it wasn’t an arranged marriage. Then there was Clint. But he isn’t a wolf. He’s a huge alpha tiger. Why does he affect her so much?
The threat of war. A family torn apart. An unexpected future. A love so hot it steams the lake. This one has wonderful characters that love but are forced to choose between family, love, and pack welfare. This introduction will pull you into the series and make you anxious for the next one. As with all of the author’s series, this is a stand-alone story complete and wonderful.
