If you have read any of Anna’s Butterfly Harbor series, you’ll feel like you are in the company of old friends. A single dad has been raising his daughter ever since their daughter’s mother walked out on them when the baby was just six weeks old. Now she is back and hoping for forgiveness and the chance to get to know her teenage daughter. Heartwarming and touching.
A Match Made Perfect is the eighth title in the amazing Butterfly Harbor series – and Sebastian, Brooke, and their daughter, Mandy are about to take the reader on such an emotional journey full of the past, the future, sadness, and absolute joy. Get ready for the emotions because this one has just about every feeling a human can possibly experience at one point or another.
If I speak too much about Brooke and her journey to this point in her life I’m likely to spoil the story for you and this is one you need to experience firsthand. She made choices and there were consequences to those decisions. Right now she’s trying to reconnect with the love of her life and the daughter she walked away from so many years ago… and she has no idea how this trip is going to turn out. I have to admit that Brooke handled the townfolks’ reactions to her return with grace and, at times, sass. She knew it wasn’t only Sebastian and Mandy that she has to prove herself to right now.
I love Sebastian’s book store, we’ve been treated to time there throughout the series. The cats that wander through their unique spaces always bring a smile to my face.
Mandy is a remarkable teenager. She’s wise beyond her years, kind, caring, a bit mischievous at times, and would love to see her dad and mom get back together again. I sincerely hope that, should the series continue long enough, we get to see Mandy’s eventual happy ending romance someday… that would be a perfect treat.
We’ll run into familiar faces, and not everyone is as kind as we’re used to seeing. Everyone in town is extremely protective of Mandy and her father… and it shows.
I loved A Match Made Perfect so much. I wish I could gush… or talk about it but I won’t risk spoiling the important parts for you. If you love a really good romance with a realistic feel and characters who are totally believable in their roles… plus that happily ever after ending, then this story, this series would be a perfect match for you.
I own a Kindle edition of this title.
An addictive story of redemption! With book eight in her beloved Butterfly Harbor Stories series, Anna J. Stewart continues to delight readers with this fictional small town filled with endearing characters in A MATCH MADE PERFECT. This turned out to be one of my favorites in the series and while the lack of resentment in the story line is somewhat unrealistic, the depth of the connection between the characters had me hoping for that happily ever after from the start!
We are brought into this story line on the shoulder of a character we are not so sure can be redeemed. Brooke committed the ultimate sin of walking away from her child, but along the way we learn what motivated her to take such a drastic action and how her life turned out because of it. Ms. Stewart does a great job of making us understand the turmoil in her mind both then and now as she returns to try to make amends.
Sebastian is trustworthy and lovable and seems too good to be true … but his reaction to her return further shows what an understanding guy he is. His relationship with his daughter is everything!
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a small town filled with close knit and quirky characters that always brings a major dose of heart to the surface on that quest towards happily ever after!
A Match Made Perfect is book eight in the Butterfly Harbor Stories series. I always love going back to Butterfly Harbor. It just feels like going home. This story kept me hooked throughout, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
I love the Butterfly Harbor series and all the wonderful characters that make up Butterfly Harbor. The series is wonderful and the characters are awesome. I enjoyed reading about Sebastian and his daughter Mandy. How Brooke left them when Mandy was a baby. How Sebastian had to raise her by himself but the whole town stepped in to help him.
Now Brooke is back in town and she has her work cut out for her. She has to prove not only to Sebastian and Mandy that she has changed and wants to be part of Mandy’s life, she has to take on the whole town. Everyone is protective of their own. And they feel that Sebastian and Mandy are just that.
Anna J. Stewart makes you feel like you are there. Her books are awesomely written, the characters are complex but easy to get to know and love and the story lines are remarkable. I find it to be an easy read and well worth the time.
A Match Made Perfect is another great addition to this series. I enjoyed the second chance romance between Brooke and Sebastian and I loved the bond Sebastian shared with his daughter. As always, it was a fun visit to Butterfly Harbor!
Oh this book. It had me laughing one minute then crying the next. Ms. Stewart does this to me in this series. I can’t say enough about this book or the Butterfly Harbor Series.
Sebastian Evans is raising his teen daughter Mandy ever since the love of his life left them.
It was devastating to say the least.
Now after 15 years Brooke Ardell walks back into there life, and he doesn’t know what to do.
Brooke just wants to know her daughter, and when she walks into Cat’s Eye bookshop in Butterfly Harbor she isn’t prepared. Mandy is one beautiful girl. Her daughter. She had to do what she needed back then. She left so much when she left.
I won’t say anything more, but preorder now. Its releasing April 1st.
Also check out the rest of Butterfly Harbor.
It’s about family, friends, redemption, forgiveness; and oh so much more. When you enter Butterfly Harbor you won’t want to leave.
Any visit to Butterfly Harbor is a perfect one for me! I love every character that lives there! A single father raising a daughter is especially tender to me. Any single parent has great challenges but single dads are just special to be because I think so much doesn’t come natural to them! Sebastian has done an amazing job raising Mandy when her mother left him when she was born. In fact she didn’t even say goodbye, she just left. For almost 15 years, he’s had no closure yet he’s never loved another woman like he’s loved Brooke. Mandy has turned out to be a fantastic teenager and practically the whole town has helped raise her. Then one day…Brooke returns. We don’t know a lot about the reasons until they slowly reveal themselves through each chapter. They are fascinating. Mandy wants to know her mother, Sebastian wants her gone. Oh the emotional upheaval Brooke’s return causes in Butterfly Harbor! So many people in town still know her and want explanations but there are new people too and they befriend her. Brooke was such a strong character to me because she had to take all the “mean” comments that people said to her and she did it with grace. Each main character in this story just touched me in different ways. This author continues to write each book in this series with so much heart – I keep coming back for more!
The first thing I want to say about this story is that it is…big. That is probably not the correct word but I want to convey that it has so many deep, thoughtful feelings in it that it sorta surrounded me as I read. I was so drawn into the lives of this (former) family of Brooke and Sebastian and Mandy that I read it straight thru in one day, albeit a very **late night/early morning** one.
It is a standalone however there are many, many visits from characters in previous books in this series. For me, it is always fun to “run into” a character I recognize…that, and I love the Butterfly Harbor stories. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, nor can I retell the story better than the author, but I can say that I loved Sebastian’s relationship with his young teenage daughter. Don’t get me wrong, she sure is cheeky, but in a good way. He’s done an amazing job of raising her to be an independent, loving, young woman and she is totally his world. And then his ex comes back into their lives…
That’s sort of a simple explanation for Brooke Ardell, with the barest of facts about her. Again, I don’t want to say very much as you have to read about her, and her life since she left town oh so many years ago, to truly appreciate her character. But there is heart and a new backbone of steel under that exterior and I loved how the story of this (former) family plays out.
Loved this book – I don’t think there are words that can say how much. It just struck me as “big”, as I said at the top, and I was pulled along for the ride of their lives. Thank you, Ms. Stewart, for creating such a wonderful town and cast of characters, for us to enjoy.
