I liked this book – give a realistic into preppers and their mind set – interesting
This gripping thriller laced with dark family secrets had me tearing through the pages… prepare to stay up late reading this one!
Tense and compulsively readable… I won’t be forgetting the Juniper sisters any time soon.
Last Girls is a harrowing view into a world where sisterly bonds are sealed in blood, and doomsday is only a breath away. Demetra Brodsky’s portrayal of three girls living on the fringes of society, learning to question authority, identity, and the definition of family, kept me riveted until the final page.
ABAO: All bets are off in this intense, action-packed thriller. Last Girls is both a sister story with heart and a deep-dive into Doomsday Prepper culture that will keep you up all night turning pages.
The moment I picked up LAST GIRLS I fell in love with the Juniper Sisters. Full of twists, turns, and adventure, this action-packed tale of love, loyalty, and betrayal kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, then left me wanting more.
A riveting, pulse-pounding story about family, love, and what happens when the end of the world turns out to be the beginning. I loved the fierce, funny, and fantastic Juniper sisters.
An impressive, immersive, addictive tale of a world that never ends ― the beating heart of sisters, breathtaking and unstoppable.
I absolutely LOVE Last Girls! My favorite thing about it is how enthralling it is. I was going through a tough spell–having trouble concentrating or caring about what I was reading–and LAST GIRLS pulled me out of my slump! I’ve never watched or read anything about preppers before and I was shocked by how fascinating I found it all: the way they live, the training exercises, the acronyms. I feel like the research was probably exhaustive but it wasn’t presented that way. It’s like Demetra just absorbed the information and let it bleed out through the characters. Which brings me to my next favorite thing about Last Girls: the characters and the relationships between them! The girls are all very unique but I related to each of them: Blue and her love of animals, Birdie and her rebellious streak, and Honey’s need to protect those she loves. I also really liked smaller side-characters like Stavros and Bash and appreciated the humor sprinkled through out the book. And, while LAST GIRLS is more girl power than romance, there were some very swoon worthy moments. I really loved both Remy and Ansel! And finally, I enjoyed the mystery of the story–it starts at almost page one and had me theorizing through out about what exactly I thought was going on and who the bad guys were. There were several twists and turns but the groundwork was there for them and they felt earned. I liked that Honey tested her own theories out and didn’t just spend the whole story jumping from one wild conclusion to the next. This seems like a stand-alone but I would definitely love to read more stories about these characters! **I received an ARC for my honest review of this story. All opinions are my own.
