Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last … retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life. But all of that combined barely scratches the surface of her problems. Recent developments—and a few distressing prophesies—have forced her to become a responsible adult. Exactly the kind of adult she’s never aspired to be. To conquer such a monumental task, she’s decided to start small. Really small. She gets a pet. But how can she save the world against the forces of evil when she can’t even keep a goldfish alive?
A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.
We’re doomed.

That ending. T.T
So the end of this one has me sobbing. I was just so upset. I still love Charley and Reyes. I also love the side characters like Uncle Bob and Cookie. I will absolutely be continuing this series. I just love it.
Poor Charly can’t have caffeine–Cookie starts drinking decaff in solidarity, you get yourself a bestie like that! All the characters are wonderful and add so much to these unique storylines. The Kindle version was great, but rereading using the audiobooks this time is even better. An unusual premise for a series, so funny and yet heart-rending at …
There’s not much new to say about the seventh Charley Davidson novel — if you liked the earlier books, you’ll like this one. The same sassy characters, the same love/hate relationships, the same steamy/make you blush romantic scenes. You’re laughing in one chapter, crying in the next. I continue to be amazed at Jones’s creativity. As always, her …
Well, I loved the book, definitely. It was filled with all the plot and twists and turns that keep me engaged and reading even when I want to throw my Kindle out the window.
First, WTF Charley? She does have moments of being To-Stupid-To-Live but she’s got super powers so it’s usually okay. This one, she’s pregnant and just keeps on keeping …
The action and laughter continue in Book 7. Charley continues to kick butt…even after finding out she’s pregnant. And Reyes does his best to look after, and try to protect, Charley and their unborn child. More of the prophecy is revealed.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and …
I was about to start writing my review for Eighth Grave After Dark and realized that I somehow missed posting my review of Seventh Grave! I don’t know how the hell I managed that, but I did. You cant see it right now, but I am shaking my head at myself. Eh, well, we’re here now!
Seventh Grave was yet another great addition to the series. …
a terrific read from a very creative author, I love the Charley character and love these books.
Seventh in this series and so far my favorite. These book have a tendency to spin out, this one actually, kind of, made sense. There is the snarky humor we always expect from Charley and the back wash of side stories, that are always included in these books. There is laugh out loud humor in this one. I always wonder how one person/reaper/god can …
Book seven of the fan-freaking-tastic Charley Davidson series is still kicking butt and taking names. Plenty of action, romance, comedy, and awesome characters to pull it off. These need to be read in order, starting at the very beginning, for maximum enjoyment. Otherwise, the reader may miss out on a great deal that would make the book go from …
“He wanted a war? He’d get one.”
It’s been a bad day so the enraged ending worked for me. The supernatural world is more dangerous than ever and Charley has so much to lose.
Osh was the highlight of the book: attractive, interesting, calm, and battle-ready.
Unfortunately the book had a saccharine stank: the overly emotional affianced.
Holy crap! With each book things amp up but by the end of this one, it feels like the world is in danger of exploding. I’m left wide eyed and a little worried about Charley and her abilities. There is just so much revealed here in little increments but with huge repercussions. I keep swearing I’m going to take a break from this series but I …
Loved this thrilling, fun and heart pounding adventure filled with danger, excitement and passion… this crazy adventure begins where the last one left off… Loved it! Charley and her people are in for the fight of their lives as they get closer to the coming war. So excited to read the next book and find out what happens next.
3.5 STARS!!!
I’m actually surprised that I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did the previous books in this series. It wasn’t a bad read but I definitely expected more after reading previous books. This story was filled with mystery, suspense and loads of laughs but I found this story slower than the others. Reyes is even more protective than …
4.75 stars-SEVENTH GRAVE AND NO BODY is the seventh installment in Darynda Jones’s adult, contemporary Charley Davidson UF series focusing on part time PI/full time Grim Reaper Charley Davidson. This is the continuing story of Charley’s life as the Grim Reaper, the corporeal spirits who have yet to pass, and the man to whom she has pledged her …
Ooohhh!!! It’s getting REALLY good now. The last sentence was sooo ominous too. Can’t wait to read the next installment. I really hope Reyes will be ok. And Beep too!
This installment was just ok for me. Wasn’t holding my interest as much.
I am feverishly hoping that when this series ends, we get the spinoff with Beep, Osh and Amber.
