An interesting view on a different side to Dracula. Very innovative and thought-provoking. A fantastic read.
This was a good read by Scerina Elizabeth,,,,,
What if all the stories you heard about the infamous monster named Dracula were all lies,,,,,???
Well,,,, if you know anything about Dracula,,,, well, I bet you don’t know this one,,,,,
Mina Murray is a young lady who has a best friend, Lucy Westenra and also another friend whom Mina is deeply in love with,,, his name was John Harkner who is a well known lawyer in Real Estate Law,,, one night before he has to leave, Mina tells him of her undying love for him before he has to leave on business for the law firm of Mills & Hawkins for a business transaction to Transylvania, but he told her he felt her as nothing but a friend ,,,, Mina was devastated,,,,
Lucy was given as her suitors to choose from 1) Lord Godaiming ,,,, 2) Arthur Holmwood ,,,, 3) Quincy Morris ,,,, 4) John Stewart ,,,, she chooses Lord Arthur Holmwood of Holmwood Estates of Chelsea England,,, but what nobody especially Lucy doesn’t know is that Arthur has bern diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, Paroxymal Nocturnal Hemoglobnuria and it’s terminal ,,,,,
Several other people come up in this book,,, Lord Alfred Singleton was one character,,, along with a couple other more important characters like Dr Abraham Van Helsing and the Count Vlad Tepes ,,,,
This book is a good read that you really have to read to get into this book,,,, but obviously if you know anything about the Count and Van Helsing you know they are a major part of things ,,,, I would really give this book a read,,,, it’s kinda interesting if you are at all into Dracula ,,,,
I would so totally recommend this book to everyone,,,,, I have gotten this ARC voluntarily to leave an honest review,,
Let me start off by stating this is nothing like books I normally stock my kindle with. I tend to stay away from fantasy or paranormal erotica/romance, its just not my thing. However, when this cover caught my eye and the blurb finished the job…….I was intrigued and couldn’t wait — I mean how do you say no to a book promising to tell a different story of a character as infamous as Dracula? In that catagory, this author delivered. But on some others? Well I will get into where it went wrong for me further down.
Told from multiple POVs (SEVEN to be exact), this unique tale of the infamous vampire we know as Dracula is both erotica and a story of a timeless love. It ends with a HEA and does show a different side of the force behind the legend. Considered a monster, this read sets out to show him as a savior and a lover. Throw out what you know of Vlad Tepes and Van Helsing now, its going to switch things up and reverse roles leaving you with a refreshing look at such an iconic character.
Here is where it went wrong for me:
1. Contradictions in the Plot: I cannot name specific examples due to spoiling the story, but there are SEVERAL glaring examples where the plot facts are contradicted within the same chapter. One character states they aren’t sure what Vlad (or the Count) is and then in the next page or two clearly refers to his vampiric blood and his coffin. There are other instances that are way more frustrating, being contradicted so the plot moves in a certain direction that it couldn’t go had it stayed true to the previous facts. In addition to that, there were quite a few things towards to end that made very little sense (reasoning wise) yet were depended on to bring the story to its climax and its ending.
2. Multiple POV: I usually don’t mind how the story is told (as in POV), however having seven POV telling a story that at its core is a romance completely took away from the impact of that core. We got so many POV that it was hard to keep up with exactly where the story was supposed to be going and I also believe this is the reason the author mixed up so many facts (contradicting herself). There were a lot of events that could have either been left out or told from Vlad or Mina’s POV.
3. Dialogue/Editing: I grouped these two together because in some instances they overlap….the story takes place in the 1800s and the author does a decent job at attempting to create dialogue that goes with the times….very few times were there phrases/words that weren’t “created” back then. However, it got REALLY heavy on certain phrases to the point it took away from the actual dialogue written. There were some repetitive text (ex.John always had a thing for Mina and would have done anything for her. He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame and would have done almost anything for her.) as well as some grammar errors and misspelled words.
Overall, I actually enjoyed the actual base of the story being told. There were a lot of extra-ness thrown in that many times took away from that but it didn’t change the fact that the base was intriguing. I feel like it just needed a little more finesse and condensing….it would work wonders changing this from a 3 star to a 4-4.5 star read. If Dracula and the vampire realm of literature, this will be an enjoyable read. The fact that I had so many issues with it yet gave it 3 stars is a testament to that.

This is about a Lucy having to get married so she can get her inheritance if she don’t pick for her self her father (Sir John Westenra) will do the picking for her. Lucy’s best friend Mina had a boyfriend Jonathan that loves her friend Lucy. Mina just don’t know what to do about her friend Jonathan and Lucy. But now would be the time to buy the book so you can find out what happens to them. I will be buying for more from this author. Thank You for writing your books so we can read them.
