When your forties are fading in the rear-view mirror, and your happily ever after wasn’t as long or as happy as you thought it would be. What then?Do you still have any dreams left to chase? Do you even want to?Chris’s happily ever after was more of a nightmare than a dream. But that was a long time ago. These days, she lives a full life. She dates sometimes. Seymour’s dreams came true when he married young and had a daughter.
He doesn’t believe in dreams anymore. Since his wife died, he’s hidden himself in his work. He’s made more money than one man could ever need. He’s rebuilt the bridges he burned with his daughter. He’d even go as far as to say he’s content.
But falling in love again? That’s not even a wish for him, let alone a dream.
Until he meets Chris …

Another great silver love story! I loved Chris and Seymour’s story of second chances and love that knows no age boundaries. They are both over 50 but have been alone for a long while, after the losses of their first spouses. Chris has built a life of love and friendship that keeps her happy, while Seymour has built a business empire where he has hidden from his feelings of loss. They become friends that turn into more, and learn and grow from their time together. I’m glad we saw so many of our other friends make an appearance! Another wonderful story by SJ McCoy!
I liked this book about people finding second time around romance and love. I also liked that after a loved one dies and one mourns there is a new day and a love is possible again.
As the 2nd book in the “Silver” series, and we are reintroduced to Chris and Seymour’s story, picking up from their previous encounter in earlier books. SJ has written another beautiful story of how to find love a second time round. I loved that we got meet some of our old friends from previous books, Hope and Chance, Missy and Dan and Jack. SJ wrote a great book covering heartache, and overcoming abuse. I loved the engagement between the older characters such as Seymour, Chris, Marianne and Clay.
The two main characters were so different in their lives, Seymour the “workaholic” and Chris who was trying to trust in love again. I loved the engagement between the older and younger generations in the book. At times I thought the tables had turned and the younger generations were giving the advice to the older parents. I loved this element.
My only issue with the book was Abbie and why Chris was so concerned to her. Is SJ trying to lay the foundation to the character in a future book?
All in all another great book from SJ and look forward to reading so much more. If you have not read any of SJ McCoy’s books this an author not to be missed.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
It was a great book!
At her fifties, Chris thought that love was behind her.
Since the death of his wife, Seymour barricaded himself with his work.
Is there a chance for this two?
I think so.
Love always finds a way!
It was such a delight to read this book.
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
It has all the ingredients that you need for an awesome book!
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This is the 2nd book in the “Silver” series, and what a fantastic addition Chris and Seymour’s story is. Chris was in an abusive relationship with her husband, who has understandably made her wary of relationships, and Seymour has buried himself in his work in order to escape his grief after his wife passed. These two are perfect together but many obstacles stand in their path, especially when they live in different towns. This is a beautifully written story which is a heart-warming and had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all readers.
Another fantastic book by a fantastic author. Loved Chris and Seymour together. She sort of reminded me of Missy when reading about her. Seymour was also a great character seemed reluctant to move on from the past but came out all the better for it. Going to love this series showing the older generation can find love too. You mentioned alot of our Summer lake family in this book but not Ben! Hope he’s okay but you did mention Chance and that makes my heart happy. Another five star read. Happy Publiversary and Happy Release Day.
Just wow, a wonderful book. I absolutely love Chris and Seymour’s story. A great story of love between a little older couple. The book grabbed me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down and it left me with a smile.
I received this book for free but truly loved it and voluntarily leave my review.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Seymour and I really like how he is starting to put himself out there. The story between him and Chris is perfect, starting out as friends and see where it goes and I fell in love with the two of them and their story. Of course this was more than just Chris and Seymour, our favorite friends who’ve become family that we’ve fallen in love with were there to see Chris and Seymour find more than just a friendship. Really enjoyed Isabel and her nickname for Seymour (Seesaw), too cute, and I’m hoping we hear more about Ryan. I also liked Ivan and his developing friendship with Seymour, I definitely think they could learn a lot from each other. A favorite line from this story for me was, That hope is what makes life worth living, and that even in the dark times, we should hold onto hope. Another great story from S.J. McCoy.
S.J. McCoy did it again. Love Seymour and Chris!! Enjoyed their journey in getting over past hurts and loss. Finding love again later in life and having a happy ending.
