Something old, something new, something borrowed…something blacker than the darkest night. Cosmo Saville adores his new husband but his little white lies—and some very black magic—are about to bring their fairytale romance to an end. The only magic Police Commissioner John Joseph Galbraith believes in is true love. Discovering he’s married to a witch—a witch with something alarmingly like magical powers—is nearly as bad as discovering the man he loved tricked and deceived him. But when he learns Cosmo is in the crosshairs of a mysterious and murderous plot, he knows he must do everything in in his mortal power to protect him.
Till Death do them Part. With their relationship on the rocks, Cosmo and Commissioner Galbraith join forces to uncover the shadowy figure behind the deadly conspiracy…

Josh Lanyon does it again! In her ‘I Buried a Witch: Bedknobs and Broomsticks Book 2’, I had NO idea where things were going. Oh, how I loved it. Remembering those subplots that were not resolved in the first book, I sat listening to the audiobook with great anticipation as narrator Kale Williams’s memorable reading took me back to the writer’s San Francisco and the world of Cosmo Saville. He and his husband John Galbraith, police commissioner get back from their honeymoon in Scotland to discover that someone has killed a Wiccan in a way that seems ritualistic. Then another Wiccan is brutally murdered and Cosmo becomes determined to get someone to do something about it. Will the San Francisco Police Department get the help (they don’t know) they need to solve the mystery of the murders? Cosmo’s trip to France doesn’t yield interest from the witch leaders as only Wiccans are targeted. It isn’t too long before Cosmo’s safety is jeopardized and at a time when John has decided he can’t bear being married to a witch! Once again, the writer gives us a resolution for a major conflict in the book but leaves other contentions for the very last book of the trilogy! Josh Lanyon had me begging for that third audiobook! It’s true! I stalked her on Facebook and shamelessly begged. Good thing for me she is a big-hearted, lovely woman. Thanks, Mx. Lanyon! You’re simply the best!
Like all of Josh Lanyon’s book series, this one has over reaching story arcs and some interesting character development. The readers are starting to get to know John, and some of his less than charming traits are showing. I always appreciate authors who aren’t afraid to let theirs characters grow. Cosmo is going to need to be as tough as John tries to be if they are going to be able to keep their relationship intact.
The mystery from the previous book has some unexpected consequences in this one, and I like how the first book flowed into this one.
Once again, I jumped into the next book immediately after I finished this one.
Great book. I have really enjoyed this original book series. I like the characters and the pace the books take.
Spectacular!
I absolutely love – love this series! Wonderful characters, creative *magical* plots, hot romancin’, and beautifully written, as all of Josh Lanyon’s stories are.
Cosmo is a total doll, and John is all the good things a Lanyon dreamboat should be. I can’t wait to see what happens next for these guys.
Performed by Kale Williams, I adore what he brings to these characters in the audio version of I Buried a Witch. His smooth, sensual voice is perfect for the romantic scenes, and the light-hearted delivery of Cosmo is just perfect for this cutie.
It’s a wonderful story, made even better in audio.
I am so confused with how to rate this!!! Is it 3 stars or 4?? I will say 3.5 and round it up to 4 because I like Cosmo. I have major issues with John though. He’s overbearing, arrogant and a bully. I don’t understand what Cosmo sees in him and I don’t know if he’ll ever win me over. He’s a jerk, plain and simple.
The story itself I enjoyed. I am intrigued with what is happening in the witching world and I know things aren’t fully tied up. The “romance” part of the story does nothing for me and I wouldn’t care if John left and never came back.
Josh’s new series is marvelous, which is not surprising. Josh remains one of my all-time favorite authors, with any and every book being a re-read multiple times. This series is no exception. I had issues with the non-POV hero, who is VERY intolerant and hasn’t yet figured out unconditional love…but that’s part of why I love the book. That hero (John) has a ways to grow and I think will get there and fully embrace our wonderful narrator, Cosmo. Cosmo has learned quite a lot, and while his reasons for withholding information/his full self from John in book 1 and part of 2 are credible, it still felt better when he finally fessed up. Now he needs to value himself enough to stand up to John fully…and I bet we’ll see real magic all around. Love this book, series, and author. Well done. Pre-ordered book 3.
This is the second book in the Bedknobs and Broomsticks series, which is a MM mystery romance. The characters are interesting and well developed. The pace kept me interested and I had a hard time putting the book down. The book was wonderful, I can’t wait for the next installment.
Another great book. Love these characters, love that John doesn’t always get it right and is hard to know, love Cos’ huge depth. Another stand out for me.
