A combination as sweet and exciting as the rest of the series books, I am a huge fan of this series and with each book, I think, this one is my favorite. Now I’m realizing that they can’t all be my favorite, so I’ll just say this is one of my favorite series to read. Michele Mills has me completely addicted to the Xylans and their Be’Ihs and the stories that surround their connections are all as varied and exciting as well, so each story feels like the exact thing that each couple has to go through to get where they need to be. I literally read one from beginning to end, every time, fudge the sleep I should be doing, fudge the house cleaning, I just have to read the whole thing immediately. I loved Darcy and Daxon’s story. I thought both of the characters were in need of something the other one offered, and their connection was worth the time it took to get them there. The book starts off with an exciting escape, then moves to a building friendship. The only thing that was left unsettled for me was the Singh connection like we all know that corrupt people with money don’t just quit being that way because of one set back, and I wonder what the resolution was after the ending of the story in the book. Although I have a residual over-thinking question, I still think this story was an excellent read and I hope eventually there will be more to this series or a connected one, eventually!
Daxon’s Hostage by Michele Mills is the sixth book in the Alien Bounty Hunter series. In this book, Darcy Chopra has won the Bridal Tour Reality Show on New Earth and is scheduled to marry a horrible rich man. Instead of getting married, she stows away on Xylon bounty hunter Daxon of Seven’s space ship. This is the beginning of their exciting adventure as the soon discover that they are soul mates. I loved this alien love story and found the characters story a very entertaining read. Daxon’s Hostage is a sweet and sensual alien mate love story.
Fun, fast read that works as a stand-alone in the series. Darcy has the worst luck. First her family tries to marry her off to a neighbor, then she’s stuck being the subject of a rich man’s fantasy and her face is broadcast across the world. But she’s not happy with either, and in fact is desperately afraid of her future husband. Her brother helps her escape but she’s going to have to run far away to escape the wrath of her deserted groom. She lands on Daxon’s low end, one-person spaceship, which is a dream come true for her. He’s a new bounty hunter but recognizes her as his mate. Darcy unfortunately has developed a strong distaste for ANY marriage and puts him off. The story continues and they finally reach their HEA. I would have liked to find out more about the brother that helped Darcy and the cousin that cheated Daxon so there were some holes in an enjoyable fast read but it was still a fun romp. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This story awakens your social conscience. One bounty hunter, one stowaway, and one rich entitled thinking bridegroom. However, beauty isn’t everything nor is money. A great read and well worth the read. Do you think they’ll be able to escape?
Love the Xylans. They are an interesting species (in an interesting universe) that Michele Mills has created. I like the interaction between Daxon and Darcy. Being that he is a Xylan, I would think this would be something hard to convince us readers. Michele Mills does a good job of that though. Love that Darcy is smart and educated, even for a farm girl. Her passion for learning all she needs to improve her skills and her profession makes her very relatable. I really do need to go and read the other books in this series as I know there are a few I’ve missed.
I have read all the books in this series. I always look forward to a new one. This one did not disappoint. My favorites are still the original three, but this book ties in so nicely to the originals, it is a must read.

Oh my word, Michelle Mills I love you. Daxon is simply superb. I love Daxon himself, these Xylan men are beautiful, gentle giants with the women who are their brides and yet tough as nails with everyone else. This story features Darcy who is desperate to escape a marriage she didn’t want to a man who was a vile, reprehensible creature. Darcy and Daxon are so sweet together and they fit like two pieces of a puzzle. The series has been amazing and Daxon is perfect. I can highly recommend this book to all lovers of SciFi Romance.

It would never be a forced mating!
by sewsummore
Darcy was forced to stowaway on a Xylan bounty hunters ship to escape a forced marriage to rich but evil man. When Dexon found her she was asleep on his bunk, he was surprised as his security system was high level and she have prevented entry. There was also another reason for his surprise, she was his fated mate, something all his family had been able to tell simply by smell with 99% accuracy. He had not expected to find his mate or that she would be human, but the result was the same. Darcy had just escaped a forced marriage and she did not want to face another any time soon but fated mates do not lie. This was a quick read, I enjoyed reading about Darcy especially, she was a woman fascinated by machinery and motors, she had a feisty disposition and was very aroused by Dexon and yet she still resisted their mating. Daxon was a proud and honorable man, he vowed never to force their mating and I liked him for his strength of purpose and honor. To learn how this story ends you will have to read the book. I did and really enjoyed the drama of it all.

Great story! Wish I’d read it…
…instead of the story Michele Mills actually wrote. Meh. Darcy Chopra is a mechanically-inclined Goldilocks-type whose first marriage arrangement was too cold. (The farmer next door was her big brother’s choice.) Her second was too hot. (Mega-rich Gurpreet Singh staged a planet-wide reality-show/on-air hunt and Darcy was the victim – er, winner. When she discovered he was a womanizing brute who beat his ladies and their kids, she left him at the altar.) Big brother smuggled her aboard Daxon the Xylan Bounty Hunter’s bucket-of-bolts one-man flier and she conked out on his bunk. When Darcy wakes, she discovers 1) she’s far out in space and safe from Gurpreet; 2) she’s sexy Daxon’s destined one-and-only mate; 3) she’s developed a severe allergy to marriage. The rest of the story is smug, sexy Daxon waiting out his mate’s allergy attack while dumb bunny Darcy dithers and finally bows to the inevitable. It’s the l-o–n-g-e-s-t two-diurnal periods on record. When the inevitable mating contact is made, the claiming ceremony takes place pronto, followed by D and D boinking like bunnies. Cue epilogue and HEA. So, what did I miss? Big brother Hector Chopra, the REAL HERO, doing his heroic best to save his sister in spite of herself, and finding himself repeated thwarted, illegally arrested, and hauled off by more Bounty Hunters. Suspense, action, conniving and colluding, outwitting the sleaze ball Singh, and being rescued at the last second! Now THAT would have been epic! But that story didn’t get told. I also missed the villain. Not the paper tiger tantrum-thrower – the real evil twisted sicko whose gruesome but undisclosed backstory made him the predator who pursues Daxon and Darcy with merciless terror. Another great story left unwritten. And I missed the HEA – a bang-up celebration of Raksha bandan (Indian festival honoring the special brother-sister bond) PLUS D and D’s epic two-day Indian wedding! I’ll give Daxon’s Hostage 3 stars because Michele Mills’ writing makes even foregone conclusions readable, but I wish she’d written the real story…

Daxon is a new bounty hunter. His first mission if cancelled and his ship breaks down. Of course his day get worse. He finds a little human stowaway and Daxon is so sure that she’s his mate but she’s already run from two other attempts at being married off. So much misunderstanding with Xylan/human. Naturally Daxon is a very dominant Alpha male, very confident and they are all honorable. Daxon has lots of patients as his little human stowaway Darcy is not making the mating thing very easy. Daxon helps her grow up as she was a brate at the beginning of the book. I liked her at the end. Great series. Maybe we will have a few more books from Michele Mills added to this series. This outstanding read had amazing characters that kept me totally engaged as I turned each and every page until the very end!
Money won’t buy everything!
Darcy is desperate to hide from her unwanted and cruel bridegroom, and fortunately, her brother rides to her rescue stashing her on a ship headed off-planet.
Daxon is a new Bounty Hunter crawling his way up the ranks to compete at the top. He’s gobsmacked when he finds a female in his bunk. He is convinced they are mates, but Darcy declines his offer to test for compatibility.
Adventures ensue!
This has been an awesome series. When I had started book 1, sci-fi romance was a bit new to me. Ms. Mills changed that quickly. Each book was just a little more awesome. This did not stray from the course. Daxon is a new bounty hunter on his first mission. Of course, it is not going as planned. The bounty is canceled, his ship breaks down and to top it off, he has a human stowaway. And….wait for it……..she’s his future Bride. Convincing her is easier said than done. But he’ll wait. Darcy has escaped two previous attempts at being marriage off. She has no intention of be anyone’s bride. Even if Daxon makes her feel things she never has before. This book was so much fun to read. There is always a bit of misunderstanding with the whole Xylan/human thing. Which can be pretty funny. It was also full of action. Follow them to their HEA. Yo will not be disappointed. Make sure to read the extended epilogue. The final book is coming and you will want to be ready.

It was again a great story, pretty pretty good, like always. Daxon was great, how he excepted, that she was probably his mate from the beginning und how he told her, I had to laugh out loud. How he tried to change her mind, hilarious. I even liked there inner dialogue what is not often the case. All in all it was a great book, a lovely couple and I had some great laughs. I guess it helps if you read one or a couple of books from this series, but it is not necessary.
I received an ARC for an honest review, but I have to thank the author again, because I love her books and her writing style
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
A great read. Well thought out plot. This book was so good I read it all in one night! I definitely recommend you read this book and the others in the series, they are awesome!!
