The fate of the Aradian world depends on a single lesson. Can they survive long enough to learn it?A banishment portal meant for one becomes a catalyst to destiny for seven brothers who pass through. Their journey takes them between worlds, time, and back again, revealing truths they were never supposed to uncover: everything they’ve believed for a millennia is false, they are pawns on someone … on someone else’s game board, and, they are all expendable. Between the world they know, and the ones they don’t are more portals, each with truths waiting to be revealed.
Can they turn the tables, reclaim their lives, reunite with their mates, and end the game? Or, will their world be lost forever before they can return?
Truth takes time…theirs is running out.

I’m split on where I stand with this book.
Overall, the story is great. However, it does take time and maybe some rereading (or at least it did for me) to finally understand the concept of the book and what was happening at times.
I’ve read a couple Savannah Verte books and one thing I’m never disappointed in is the world building. I can always immerse myself inside any world this author decides to write in and I feel this can be hard sometimes for some authors.
From the synopsis, there are seven brothers, plus additional characters to keep straight. This at times did lead to me having to go back and reread to figure out just who I was reading about. Portals is also a long book. While I can usually read a book a day (depending on pages/length) this one took me almost 2 days to complete
The first half of this book was very fast paced and all consuming for me. The second half, while still interesting, didn’t seem to hold my interest as much, partly because of all the additional characters and their stories. But overall a decent read. Note to the author, fixing grammatical errors throughout would greatly increase the reader’s enjoyment.
Savannah Verte has written an epic masterpiece of fantasy , family, and worlds beyond the realm that you will either dive into for a long winter’s night read of feel daunted from the beginning and give up on. This is an extremely ong book but worth the effort and time timeto discover a fantasy world beyond imagine. It does take a few chapters to understand and grasp what is going on. However once you get the world building alone will grab you and hold your attention from beginning to end. There are seven brothers who hold the fate of the world in their hands and as the transition if they make the wrong decision…poof… it’s over. Plan on spending sometime with this book as you may have to re-read parts to truly understand it. This author has a writing style that truly keeps you coming back for more. It is worth your time and effort to finish this book. You will relish the richness of the story and truly fall in love with all7 brother one at at a time.
When I saw the who the author was and dragons on the cover I was excited to read it. But I was confused from about not far from the beginning. I couldn’t finish the rest of the book past chapter I though I understood what Transition meant but when they talked about was not a difficult process. So I was lost at Transitions was a prerequisite to parading. . It was more difficult to understand much of what came next. There was talk about shifting on the fly but not what they shifted into. Then I started to understand what I was reading and boom, Chapter two I understood better. But chapter three was all about Cyrenna learning about the Vengely brothers, names, how to tell them apart, what each of their flags looked like. Boom, chapter 4 The brothers were given a huge task ( by the god Amarine) of finding any/all portals between Eupion and Amaranth, (HUGE task) The brothers came back a 7 times to report about the task to other god Amaranos, It then went to H^LL in a hand basket, between Rigor telling what happened, then the god pretty much went at them say they are unskilled, etc etc.
All 7 ended up in a banishment portal, (suppose to be gone forever). 2 match-mates were lost that moment , so we read about the females talk about them, their loss, what they will do, then the sister going over it all. I pretty much lost interest in it but tried to keep reading on. Chapter 7 started to be interesting but after 6 chapters of being confused , I had to stop. If I can finish this book, and change my mind I post a new review
There are some lessons that are hard to learn. For seven brothers, one of those lessons could possibly end their lives. But what if that lesson was a game. Can they come out the winners in the end?
