This is a very intense, emotional filled read that will literally make your heart ache for this trio. To say that Walker, Joy and Dane have a complicated history is as big of a understatement as saying that the ocean is wet. These are complicated characters, they have flaws and have made a few poor decisions and mistakes along the way. There is lots of angst, drama, raw emotions and sizzling heat to be had as the engaging storyline unfolds.

Okay. So I thought Wren, Jordan and Kason’s story was intense ~ Well, the history between Wren and Jordan was, but you get what I mean, but Walker, Dean and Joy’s history far surpasses theirs in the intensity and heart breaking department. I shouldn’t, and normally don’t, compare, but even I wasn’t prepared for all that these three have been through. The emotional landmines in this one were many, but so were the sweet, smexy, swoon worthy and ovary exploding moments so at least things balanced out in the end.
Walker, Dane and Joy. I loved these three. They are, at their very core’s good, honorable and loving people who have been trying to survive. They’ve definitely endured, but living isn’t something they’ve been doing and after finding out about all they’ve been through, let’s just say my heart hurt for them all. And as for their journey. The frustration level rose to dangerous levels with these three, and I have to make a general thing because I don’t want to go all verbal vomity ranty and ruin it for all, but they had a lot of baggage to work through. For the most part, I saw and understood all sides, but there came that moment where I wanted to pull out a 2×4 and take it one particular person’s head. But, I loved how ~ with the help of the Hot Rides crew ~ they figured things out and got the HEA they were always meant to have.
None of these books are without intense moments, but this one started out with a bang and didn’t let up until the end. There are triggers, so reader beware. But with all the chaos, I loved watching the Hot Ride family come together and simply be there for Walker, Dane and Joy in whatever capacity was needed at the time. And as for what’s coming up next…I cannot wait to get my hands on Sevan’s book because that one will definitely be explosive!

There is no question that Walker and Dane has a bond. No one at Hot Rides knew the extent of this relationship or what happened to them prior to showing up looking for jobs. Then, Joy, a woman from their past, shows up with an infant in her arms and things will never be the same. This book will take us on a ride full of angst, desire, love and list. We will watch as Walker, Dane and Joy struggle through building a new life together while accepting how they fit together and dealing with the past they all want to forget. This is another great addition to the Hot Rides series!

Joy Ride is the next installment in the Hot Rides series from Jayne Rylon.
Despite being part of a series, it can be read as a standalone and the involvement of well loved characters doesn’t detract from this novel’s ability to stand independently.
This author excels at writing characters that seem broken but who, in fact, only need each other to be whole.
Alongside a compelling storyline the reader is also served up a bit of intrigue ensuring that they’ll come back for more and of course the next episode to this ‘can’t miss’ series.
‘Joy Ride’ is an absolute must read for lovers of the Powertools, Hot Rides and Hot Rods characters and their amazing stories.
Secret baby alert!!! This is not a drill, this is a secret baby alarm!!! One of my most favourite tropes in the whole world, with a ménage, slay me now *faints*
Joy, Dane, and Walker aren’t really big on expressing themselves clearly. Dane is who I liked the most, and even as the most submissive of the trio, he at least had his head on straight and was emotionally aware. Walker is an idiot, a bonafide, back and forth, can’t make up my mind, boo hoo, idiot. His redeeming quality is you get it, why he is the way he is, but you still want to slap, which, Dane actually does at one point, Go Dane! Joy is doing the best she can, given her history with them both, and her present. She is really trying, but the uncertainty from Walker, affects both her and Dane, and can’t allow them to move forward
I love this world, I liked these characters, and this story had a lot of emotion and sparks in it, along with some smoking shower, bath, and bedroom scenes
Jayne Rylon takes us on a hawt ride in book 4 of Powertools: Hot Rides. Chemistry, guilt, love are what they all feel with a good dose of “I” know what is best for all of us but love and courage are what wins in the end. Walker, Joy and Dane have a few rocky roads to believe they can have their happy ending along with a few surprises thrown in. 🙂 Loved It!!
