Alex is in one heck of a wild ride and was a fun exhilarating read for sure !!!
Wow so much action right from the start…absolutely loved it!
The continuous action made me keep reading….you know the saying “Just one more chapter” I was saying it last night…I finished the book this morning…I see to devour Urcelia’s books. Easy to read, kept my interest, another great addition to the Alex Hunt series…
Now I’m not one to give away the storyline…you can pretty much read the synopsis of the book and get the plot…but when you read this be prepared…you are about to embark on a roller coaster ride..
Highly recommend this series if you like archaeological seeking stories…
This is my first Alex Hunt adventure thriller and I am hooked for life. Further, anything related to Marie Antoinette and my interest is immediately triggered. I LOVED this book because it has mystery and action and was also an education for me about a possible alternate ending for little Louis the XVII besides dying tortured and alone in the Temple prison. The premise behind the book is compelling and thought provoking.
I received an ARC from the author; here are my thoughts:
When I read a book, whether it is fiction or not, I consider it good if I’ve learned something. The Dauphin Deception was good! Not only was it an exciting and action-packed read, but I learned a little about French history. Teixeira writes a ‘clean’ story about a really badass and talented female and builds the characters that you want to maybe meet someday. My kind of book! Alex can come and have tea with me any time! Highly recommended!
The Dauphin Deception grabs you immediately and takes you for a wild ride of suspense, intrigue, and danger. Teixeira keeps you on the edge of your seat, and unable to put the book down. Alex and Sam are much better equipped to find the mysteries surrounding the letters and clues as they are plunged into a secret society that has been in existence since the French Revolution. Well done! I received this copy as an ARC reader, but the review is my own opinion.
Overall, Dauphin Deception was an enjoyable piece of escapist adventure, although the simplicity of the dialogue and the corny, almost comical, “bad acting” of the characters, as well as the rather implausible “neatness” of Alex and Sam’s tidy and too-convenient interplay with circumstances and gadgets stretched the limits of credibility more than I would have preferred. I have been an advanced reader for Ernest Dempsey for some time now, and comments akin to these waned over time as his writing style and sophistication of narratives improved. His last book did regress to the level of almost silly dialogue, but even he agreed with my comments. I mean no offense and enjoyed the opportunity to read this novel before release. Ilook forward to reading more from this author.
Alex Hunt and Sam Quinn, once again, are running from danger while trying to get to the bottom of a mystery. Engrossing thriller!!
I really enjoyed the story. The story moved along very quickly. The main characters, Alex and Sam, were constantly in danger and trying to figure out ways to stay alive while solving the mystery of why they were contacted and what they were supposed to do. At first they weren’t sure who was after them but then when that became apparent it was interesting to learn the reasons behind why the people wanted them dead.
Lots of action. They had to think on their feet. Will be interesting to see what comes next for them.
Rating: 4.5 stars
I really enjoyed this adventure of the Dauphin Deception! I can’t wait to read the next Alex Hunt mystery. I like to read about archeology, history, mystery, intrigue, and adventure. If you enjoy reading these type of books, you will want to read the Alex Hunt mysteries.
It is great that an author is willing to write clean stories these days. This archaeological mystery is fast paced and the author’s writing puts you right in the middle of the scenes full of action.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. My review was freely given and my opinions were my own.
I just love how over each book of an Alex Hunt thriller , Alex grows in knowledge and can solve puzzles so she and her boyfriend/ husband can find out who the bad guys are. I also love how Alex love for her husband grows and his love for her.
Loved it! It kept me wanting more, and it was difficult to put down. So far, The Dauphin Deception is my favorite of the Alex Hunt series. I can’t wait to read the next one!
Searching for Marie-Antoinette’s forgotten son…
Did Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette son, Louis Charles, survived the French Revolution? And if so, what happened to him? This is exactly what Alex Hunt and Sam Quinn will try to find out in this absolute delighting adventure through the backyards of France most beautiful city.
Even as the adventure have the potential for the very beginning of becoming the most dangerous in Alex career, who would say no to the opportunity to visit the City of Lights? Or the City of Love for that matter, as they are one and the same, and on top paired with the chance to solving one of most reveled European mysteries. They surely cannot reject the offer, and so Alex and Sam embark in one of the most dangerous and twisted trips they have ever been on, and knowing their past adventures this really says a lot
Whether you are aware of the historical background or not “The Dauphin Deception” is a rollercoaster, that will not only keep you entertained for hours, but manages to educate on one of the most twisted conundrums of European history.
Once more Urcelia Teixeira delivers action non-stop in one of the top adventure thriller series on the market, while supplying a plethora of historical background in the most satisfying and enjoyable manner.
