I this author. I this series. I this book. I’ve read a few of the books so a lot of this book was . That said, it was still made for a super read and lord help me but I need the next book ĂŚĂР. This αυтнσя will have her getting these two to ʀɛƈօռƈɨʟɛ. Alas, as they say there is a thin line between ….
This whole Kingmaker Saga series is phenomenal! What an incredible writer. I couldn’t put them down. Rarely have I read such…I don’t even have words to describe them. You have to read them.
Good..but I really would like to see this series wrap up. Five books is a bit much, IMHO, for the same MC romantic tale.
—————-
You absolutely need to read the first three books of this series first, or you’ll feel like you’re fishing in the dark here. So heads up, this is not a stand-alone, and it ends in a “to be continued” cliffhanger. So, yeah, there’ll be a book 5 eventually. Now that is out of the way, I’ll continue with a few comments.
Karina is holding most of the cards this go around. In fact, she seems to have turned into Uilleam’s kryptonite. Their relationship has morphed into a cat and mouse game of chess. Each are equally determined to be the victor. Towards the end, a big reveal regarding past intentions and a plot twist that has the hero on his knees rounds out this fourth book sequel. I’m keeping my Kindle loving fingers crossed an all out declaration of love instead of war is about to come into play. I can honestly say though I wish Karina would have just come out and told Uilleam upfront at the beginning of this book why she wants to destroy him now.
There are a lot of cameos of characters from other series written by this author interwoven into the storyline. If I’m not mistaken, there are timeline loopholes meant to be filled in by intriguing us enough to want to seek them out to read, also.
Regardless, here’s to hoping book 5 is just around the corner. I’m thinking surely it will finally wrap up this main couple’s hot mess of a now non-relationship and put them back on the road to romance.
Title: Red Herring, Series: The Kingmaker Saga (Book 4), Author: London Miller, Pages: 262, must read books in order, not meant to be a stand-alone, ends in a cliffhanger, to be continued, criminal boss type hero, not a couple now, doesn’t appear to be a manho, assumed they are celibate during long separation.

„He and I are a chess game- king against queen.”
Reading London Miller’s books hurts so good… Red Herring is the continuation of Karina and Uilleam’s story. It’s full of pain, disappointment and resentment. It’s a silent battle between old lovers and attempt to bring the infamous Kingmaker to his knees. London pulled her readers into the whirlwind of events that are a part of perfectly designed scheme. But even when the end game is clear and irretrievable, with the emotions still lingering above this cold war we’re hoping for some sort of happy ending… Because such a fierce love Karina and Uilleam were sharing only comes once.
Miller has quite impressive way of building anticipation. I was constantly on the edge of the seat and I couldn’t wait for certain situations to develop. The secret was constantly hanging in the air and Uilleam’s unawareness along with his frustration and sense of betrayal only propelled Karina’s drive to destroy him. After the years of mourning and despair we could see the glimpses of the merciless Kingmaker Uilleam was before the fateful day that crushed him. My heart ached for him, but so it did for Karina. Despite becoming ruthless Belladonna, she still carried so much pain. But exactly this anguish fueled her to execute her plan to rob Uilleam from everything that hold meaning for him.
I don’t know how much more my heart can take… London Miller pulls at my heartstrings and has a field day as the ruler of my emotions. And just when I thought that I knew how everything will play out- surprise! She just put such a twist in the story that I was sitting with mouth agape and bulging eyes. Be still, my heart… be still, because there is more coming and I’m sure that Miller has more tricks up her sleeve. But as an emotional masochist that I am, I’m waiting with bated breath!
BRING IT ON!
This book, this series, this story is the epitome of fantastic writing. And that ending, oh boy will that ending send you into a spin!
Did the author have the entire story mapped out when she first started work on Red ? Did she know then that once the Den of Mercenaries series was finished that she would be writing about Karina and Uilleam? And I also have to ask how, HOW does she keep all the events in line? How does she weave strands from each mercenaries story with strands from Karina and Uilleam’s stories and make them all fit perfectly? Not to mention just how the heck did she ever dream up such an amazing story arch?
This book dropped on my kindle and that was it for me. I had the day off work and within minutes of picking up my kindle was totally absorbed into this complex, astounding and outstanding story. The book repeats a lot of what was in the Den series, but from the point of view of the puppet masters who pulled the strings. If you’ve very recently read the WHOLE Den of Mercenaries series then you might not need to read this, however it’s been a while since I did so this was an excellent way to remind myself of all the manipulation and schemes. Seeing them through Karina and Uilliam’s eyes also gives us an insight that would otherwise be missing.
This isn’t a stand alone book, and there seems little point in talking about Karina and Uilliam as characters. If you’ve got this far in the series then you know just how amazing, twisted, manipulative, caring and broken they are.
I can not praise this series highly enough. I can not recommend it enough either. This series is fast proving to be my favourite of the year and you really don’t want to miss out on it.
This a very good series , this one being the fourth book. It was everything I was expecting and more!!! I’m sooooo ready for them to continue their love story, they’ve been apart long enough!
