And maybe, along the way, figure out if they have a future.
But finding RJ somewhere in the vastness of Russia with the FSB chasing them will push Scarlett beyond even her courage and make her question everything she thought she wanted…including Ford. What will it cost her to love a man who saves the world?

I love Susan May Warren’s female military character. I love how they are strong in their own right. They are to be admired. Ford is Scarlett’s complimentary partner. They are both trying to prove something to themselves. The Marshall’s family dynamics is so interesting and real. They are all high achievers. It is amazing to see how God used them to teach each other and themselves what is most important in life. They all have to learn to depend on God to see them through and that He is always there.
I received this book from the publisher and the opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
Ford is an extemely intense, action-packed thrill ride! This is the third book in the series, and I would definitely recommend reading these books in order so that you understand the overarching threat that is building throughout the series. As with the previous two novels, Ford contains both a main and a side story. Ford and Scarlett mount a rescue attempt for Ford’s twin sister, Ruby Jane. However, Ruby Jane (RJ) has her own story that begins developing in this book, as well. I really enjoyed the interaction between Ruby Jane and York.
Occasionally RJ and Scarlett made some choices that I was frustrated with them about, putting them into even more danger than they were already in, however, it made for some exciting rescue attempts. The developing love stories between both of the pairs of main characters were just perfect and added some wonderful emotions to the story. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series now!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I was so excited for this novel. Ford’s side story in Tate was my favorite thing about that book, so I was very eager to get to know him and Scarlett better. To see where their journey took them. And I absolutely loved it! It’s one of those books where I’m struggling to come up with the right words to express just how much I liked it. I had the same trouble with Knox and I liked this one even more.
It starts out so action-packed and that breakneck pace continues throughout the entire story. The characters get into some seriously dangerous and life-threatening situations that had me questioning if it just might be possible that things weren’t going to work out this time. My heart certainly got a workout, that’s for sure.
I’ve gotta say that I really enjoy the way Warren has formatted these books to include a main story featuring one couple, but also has a secondary story featuring a different couple. The stories always mesh so well together and, yet, it feels like I’m getting two for the price of one. Love that!
This has been a fantastic series so far and I’m so excited for Wyatt. He’s still a little bit of a mystery and I’m eager to find out what excitement and adventures await him.

Review Ford
I. Can’t. Even.
This book was fantastic!
Seriously.
While I have really enjoyed both Knox and Tate, Ford took the cake as being my favorite in this series so far.
We got a glimpse of Ford in the previous book and, I was waiting with baited breath for his story.
The wait is over!
Ford opens with a bang and does not slow down.
Susan May Warren is a master of pulling you in with her complex and real feeling characters. When she adds a suspenseful, action packed storyline…….. masterpiece!
Ford is the youngest brother of the family, and has been playing catch up with his hero brothers and father, his whole life. I really loved how SMW wove the lessons he had to learn into the story. This author may entertain with her action an romance, but she always leaves you with something deep and meaningfull to think about.
This series must be read in order!
I really loved how the romance developed between Ford and Scarlett. Both had to overcome and grow, but their story drew me in, and wouldn’t let go! All the heart eyes!!!!!!
There is another Marshall sibling that we are introduced to, and I loved that part of the story and can’t wait to read that book!!!!
This series is amazing!
I was given a copy of this book from the publisher. All my opinions are my own.
Author Susan May Warren has done it again with the Montana Marshalls series. This is book three in the series and about the brother, Ford.
The action-packed book kept me reading non-stop until I had finished the book one Sunday afternoon. I just had to know if Ford was going to pick RJ or Scarlett—or because of his dedication to his country and SEAL team, maybe both of the women would have to be forgotten. Maybe it was true that Ford wasn’t meant to be married.
I wasn’t going to start another series because of my schedule. But then the cover of Knox (book #1) came out, and a sneak peak of the books to come and I said, just one, I don’t think Marshalls are going to be what I’m interested in. Well, here’s where you CAN judge a book by it’s cover!!! In seriousness, the cover work on this series is super and it did draw me in, but it was just a foreshadow of the depth of the story inside of that cover. Halfway through book #1, I knew I’d be reading the entire series. I mean, c’mon, you have to find out about the siblings. Susan May Warren always gives you just enough in each book of the characters that will be in the other books that there is no way you won’t want to read them! They are that good!
Her writing is so descriptive. The details in each scene allows the reader to feel like you are watching a movie rather than reading a book. You can see it, you can feel it—you become a part of the story.
I highly recommend this book as well as the Montana Marshall series. The book can be read alone, but who would want to! Enjoy! I’m sure you will.
Disclaimer: I have received a digital copy from the author with no expectation in return. The comments in the above review are my own.
In Ford, Navy SEAL Ford Marshall makes reckless choices, partially in an effort to compensate for a past mistake made as a young teen. When he sees his twin sister RJ on TV in the midst of an international incident, Ford impulsively asks SEAL communications worker Scarlett Hathaway to help him rescue RJ from somewhere in Russia. She has always had his back in their missions, and this may be their final mission together as she is moving on to other challenges.
This mission involves fake passports and being on the run, hunted by the military police while trying to locate his sister. Can they find RJ and get her out of Russia alive? Will Ford’s impulsiveness help or hinder their mission? Is their relationship more than just comrades? Does RJ really work for the CIA? Who is behind the plot RJ is trying to stop?
Warren’s trademark elements – adventure, clean romance, broken individuals, emotional and spiritual challenges, family drama – are clearly evident in Ford. For this story, she has added political intrigue (Russia-US relations). The faith element is evident but not heavy-handed.
Disclaimer: Book reviews are my honest opinion of books I either purchased or received free of cost from the publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write reviews, nor to even post positive reviews.
This book is intense! I don’t know how Susan May Warren does it, but her books keep getting better and better. Ford takes us on a wild ride, this time through Russia and parts of Europe. I love the way each book draws us deeper into a story that is bigger and more complex than we first thought. With new layers of the story being revealed and new characters being introduced in each book, it would help to read Knox and Tate before reading Ford. It will be time well spent getting to know the Marshall brothers!
Ford is a tough Navy SEAL, and he can take care of himself. He wants to make it his job to take care of everyone else in his life too – especially his twin sister, RJ, when she goes missing in Russia. He sets out to find her with the help of his teammate, Scarlett, but they find themselves in a little over their heads when mixed up with the CIA and FSB. As they work together to find RJ, Ford and Scarlett have to learn to trust each other, and to trust God to be their protector and guide. We also start to learn more about RJ’s story in this book. She is smart, brave, and willing to risk her safety for her country and her family. I can’t wait to dive back in to her story in upcoming books!
Susan May Warren is a master at weaving together action and suspense, intricate plots, compelling and relatable characters, and authentic spiritual lessons. I really loved Knox, but I think Ford might be my favorite book in the series so far. Of course, that could change when Wyatt and Ruby Jane come out in the next few months! This book (and this series) is a must-read for fans of suspense, thrillers, and epic adventure stories!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This third installment of the Montana Marshall series is stellar. It has characters you can care about and relate to, lots of action and suspense, and a few sizzling romances with just the right amount of appropriate heat. It’s funny at times, but brings home the importance of family and keeping the right perspective on what we try to control and what we let God control. Ford is a clean read that will keep you engaged and wanting more. There are two more books in the series, which are set up nicely in Ford, so it may be premature to make this prediction, but Ford has so many of the right elements, it may be my favorite of the series. Time will tell, but for now, don’t miss Ford and Scarlett’s story. You’re going to love it. I received an ARC, but I’ll be buying the physical book as soon as I can order it.
Ford is book three of the Susan May Warren, Montana Marshall’s Series! In book two, you meet Navy Seal Ford Marshall Ford and Petty Officer Scarlett Hathaway Scarlett. In this book, it continues their amazing story. Scarlett does not know what her future holds and Ford has always been a one-man show even in the Navy but together they have to give up control to the One that has control, God. This book was hold your breath, can’t wait to turn the page, don’t want to put it down kind of read! This book follows the same intensity as the other two in the series and you will honestly not be able to put it down! On top of following the story of Ford and Scarlett, you learn a little more about Ford’s other family members, RJ, Wyatt and Coco! I cannot wait for the other books to come out!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Susan May Warren
“I think hope is also about who you hope in. Maybe you don’t trust the circumstances, but the source.”
Goodness!! The third book in Susan May Warren’s Montana Marshalls series, FORD, is absolutely fantastic!! In fact, it’s so good that I am having a really hard time putting into words just how much I love it. I am not generally one to choose a single favorite book, because there are so many wonderful ones available. But FORD, oh FORD! This book shot straight to the top of my favorites list before I was even done reading it.
Susan May Warren is a fabulous author. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever read of hers. I knew the Montana Marshalls series was going to special when I read and fell in love with the first book, KNOX. TATE came next and the story was just amazing. And then FORD…FORD is riveting.
This series centers around the six Marshall siblings. Reuben’s story was told in a previous series. Knox and Tate’s stories were shared in the first two Montana Marshalls books. And now, in book three, we learn the story of Ford Marshall…and some of his twin sister RJ’s story. Wyatt’s story is yet to come. Reminiscent of Dee Henderson’s O’Malley series and Dani Pettrey’s Alaskan Courage series, these books revolve around a very intertwined family. This is my favorite kind of series because all of the family members show up in some fashion in every book. As readers, we are drawn into the family and are actually made to feel a part of the family.
I loved everything about FORD. As you can surmise from the title, this book is Ford’s story. We met and began to get to know Ford and Scarlett in TATE. Ford is a Navy Seal and Scarlett is a communications expert turned Rescue Swimmer candidate. This book takes us to Russia as Ford and Scarlett go on a crazy dangerous mission to try and save Ford’s twin sister, RJ…a CIA analyst who went into the field to try and save someone’s life but became a target herself. Enter York, an ex-special ops soldier who is working independently and becomes RJ’s self-appointed protector.
The way Susan May Warren interwove the development of the characters with the suspense, the spiritual elements and the romance is unparalleled. She creates characters that are so exceptionally real that I had to remind myself, more than once, that they are fictional and that my “friends” would be okay…even when it seemed that they wouldn’t. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Between Ford and York, the intensity and suspense was gripping and nonstop. Although I enjoy suspense, I am a bit jumpy and since hiding in the hall or behind the couch isn’t effective while reading a book, I had to put down the phone when it got really suspenseful. Haha…up and down, and up and down, and up down my phone went. I couldn’t leave it down for long though because I had to see what was going to happen next! The spiritual elements sprinkled throughout Christian fiction books are one of the main reasons that I read Christian fiction. Susan May Warren always handles this beautifully. In FORD, there is a stark difference between Ford’s belief in God, the way he leans on Him and calls out to Him for help, and Scarlett’s bitterness and unbelief. This allows for some deep spiritual conversations to take place that we get to witness and be challenged by ourselves. And, as we can always expect from Susan May Warren, the romance is woven throughout the story with just enough tension to be believable and to cause the reader to root for them to find a way past the hurdles and into a God-honoring relationship. And as if all of that weren’t enough, the author’s use of humor throughout the story brings a breath of fresh air amidst the mad dash across Russia to keep RJ alive.
Wow…just wow! I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Read it…you’ll be glad you did! The books in this series are set up to overlap each other. So if you have not read KNOX or TATE yet, you’ll want to start with their books. But be sure to order FORD as soon as possible so that you have it ready to read when you finish Tate!
Susan May Warren steps it up in this book. Drama, suspense, romance. This book sizzles from the opening pages to the final words.
Scarlett is an outstanding heroine. Strong, courageous, and yet still tender. She is an excellent fit for Ford’s protective, proud, encouraging character.
As much as I loved Ford and Scarlett’s story—Ruby Jane and York’s plot intermixed through the story was just as amazing. (Maybe even better, if that’s possible!) I cannot wait for the rest of this outstanding family saga.
This is the third book in the Marshall Series and it is another smashing read! The book focuses on Ford, one of the Marshall siblings. Ford is a Navy Seal who is determined to help his sister, RJ, when it is obvious that she is in major trouble in Russia. Before leaving to find her, he enlists the help of Scarlett, his former communications expert, who has always steered him in the right direction to stay safe. Scarlett is facing major decisions and possible changes in her life when Ford asks for her help. Together they embark on a journey to find RJ, but also determine where their future lies. Readers will be on a race to finish this page turner by Mrs. Warren! I could not put this book down it was so good! I can not wait to read the next book in this series, Wyatt. I highly recommend this book and the entire series! Romantic suspense at its best! You will not be disappointed in this latest suspense-filled chase!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.
Susan May Warren has stepped up the action, suspense and romance in FORD, her newest book in the Montana Marshalls series. Ford and Scarlett made their appearance in the last book, TATE and travel through many twists and turns throughout this book. It is a thrill ride from page one as her characters repeatedly find themselves in high stress situations. There are so many ‘oh no’ moments when I had to just stop reading and walk away for a minute or two.
Ford, is a selfless overachiever and a rescuer, always trying to live up to his brothers’ successes and his perceived expectations of his dad. Scarlett is the ‘voice in his ear’ and has his heart even before he realizes it. But she too has family issues and is uncertain of what her future will hold.
Together they find themselves in Russia attempting to rescue RJ, Ford’s twin. In the meantime, RJ as found her own rescuer in York, an ex-military protector.
Susan May Warren has also stepped up the kissing scenes in this book. It may have the record for long tender kisses. I am not complaining.
I am anxious to find the rest of the story for RJ and York but there is one more book, Wyatt before her book. He also made an appearance in this book and we will get to see how he and Coco proceed in the next one.
Ford is book you won’t want to miss. Really the whole series is exceptional. I recommend it highly.
Hang on to you seat as there is action from the beginning to the end. This book is fast paced, action packed, filled with romance, suspense, lessons learned and strong characters. This series is one of Ms. Warrens best and each book gets better. This books in the series needs to be read in sequence as it is a continuous storyline. This is a must read.
This book grabs you on the first page and doesn’t let go. It is full of action, suspense, drama, and romance. It will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. If you thought Knox and Tate was intense, you better hang on tight for this one! This is the best one yet, in my opinion. I wish I could it more than 5 stars. This book is definitely a must read!
Immediately add this addition of the Montana Marshalls family saga to your reading stack.
Susan May Warren’s Ford emerges with door-kicking moves and refuses to stop until he rescues those he loves. All he needs is a reason and half-baked plan or more likely none it all.
What he needs most, however, is the realization that the world does not spin on his axis. He does not need to rely only on himself, as heroic, yet flawed as he is. Through his Creator, SEAL team, family and new friends, Ford has the opportunity to see and experience this and become stronger in the process.
After the conclusion, the Note from Susie May, with further nuggets of wisdom, must be read and pondered with this two-tissue tome.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
You better hold on tight for the ride of your life. Ford and Scarlett suck you in from the very first page and refuse to turn loose til the bitter end, leaving you wanting more. What happens next? Will there be a happy ending?
Ford and Scarlett seem like the perfect team, yet both have doubts. They struggle through the story, trying to come to grips with past mistakes and being willing to forgive and let go. Can they let go long enough to see their love for each other and God’s love?
Along the way you meet some old friends along with many new ones. This is a great story and one I plan to re-read many times.
‘Ford, you seem to think it’s your job to save everyone. When did God step off the throne and put you in charge? The last time I looked, you were not the Savior of the world.’
The highly anticipated next novel in Susan May Warren’s ‘Montana Marshalls’ series is Ford and it does not disappoint! If you thought Knox and Tate were good, wait till you get a gander at Ford! Hang on tight, because Ford will blow you right out of the water. This is one of Warren’s most powerful books, in my opinion. It fills your heart up and still keeps flowing over the top.
‘If Ford didn’t get his head in the game, they were doomed. People were going to die. Probably him.’
Ford’s twin sister, RJ, had just made the international news when she is accused of causing an international incident. Ford doesn’t stop to think too much before heading out, except to take Petty Officer Scarlett Hathaway, his former communications expert, with him. Scarlett can watch his back and well, he does have feelings for her. Scarlett has just had some serious issues of her own back home, but she has two week’s leave from the Navy and she likes Ford, so she agrees to go. But how in the world are they going to find RJ in the middle of Russia, especially with the FSB dogging their every move?
Warren carries the reader along on a wave of excitement in a dangerous and unfamiliar setting, where even her descriptions of the settings grab your attention. Ford is a protector, a rescuer, but sometimes he needs to step back and view things from a different perspective. Warren communicates this very well indeed. These Marshalls! Swoon worthy heroes, romance to beat the band and a spiritual theme that just won’t let go of your heart. Those themes never fail to touch my heart. I feel as if I’ve just gone to church when I read a Susan May Warren book. They are such a blessing with deep emotional truths in them to not only entertain as a powerful read but to built your spiritual walk as well.
Again, these Marshall men are the best romantic heroes ever! One is a total cowboy, one a former Ranger, one a Navy SEAL and one a powerful hockey player. All with great personalities and hearts for staying true to the one they love, protecting them with all their might. We meet Wyatt in this one and I am so stoked to read his story next! I very highly recommend Susan May Warren’s books. They hold pride of place on my shelves.
*My thanks to the publisher for a preview copy of this book. The opinions stated here are entirely my own.
“For a second she saw the brother she’d known better than herself. Proud, strong, faithful, determined, and yes, just reckless enough to save them all.”
Ford, the highly anticipated third novel in award-winning author Susan May Warren’s Montana Marshalls series, is a must-read for fans of adrenaline-filled, action-packed, swoon-worthy contemporary romance. The Montana Marshalls series has the perfect blend of romance, action, and of course, those handsome Marshall family cowboys!
It is highly recommended that the Montana Marshalls series be read in order, since there is an overall story arc that follows throughout the entire series. Readers will miss much of the backstory if they have not read the previous books in the series first.
The novel, Ford, continues the storyline from the previous book in the series, Tate, as younger sister Ruby Jane (RJ) Marshall is the prime suspect in an assassination attempt on Russian General Boris Stanislov and finds herself on the run and in the fight for her life. While growing up with four older “superstar” brothers, Ford felt like he was never capable enough in his father’s eyes. After much strength and perseverance, Ford is now a Navy SEAL and will do anything to protect his twin sister. With the help of his teammate, Petty Officer Scarlett Hathaway, who is dealing with her own personal turmoil, they embark on a dangerous mission to Russia to bring RJ home.
“And then, in his kiss, he promised her his heart.”
In the midst of intense action and danger, Susan May Warren seamlessly weaves romance into the story and leaves readers with their hearts swooning and adrenaline racing at the same time. With his strong faith, his role as a protector, and his great love for his family, Ford easily finds a place in Scarlett’s heart, even as she questions God’s role in her own life. Susan May Warren shares the powerful message of God’s love and His constant presence in our lives even when we feel alone or undeserving.
“Out of all of them, Wyatt led with his heart. It made him a personality on the team, charming, a magnet for the women…and sometimes reckless.”
The unresolved storyline at the end of the novel incorporates the overall story arc from the entire series into the next book, Wyatt, which releases in October 2019. Ever since reading the first book in the series, Tate has always been my favorite Marshall brother, and the cover for his story is my favorite in the series. Tate, a former Army Ranger turned bodyguard, is definitely a bit reckless and trouble always has a way of finding him, but he has such an amazing heart. When he falls in love, he falls hard and will do anything to protect the woman he loves. However, after getting to know Wyatt a little more in this novel, I think he is definitely going to give Tate some competition as my favorite Marshall brother.
The Marshall brothers (Reuben, Knox, Tate, Ford, and Wyatt) each have their own unique personalities that readers will fall in love with, but they all have a protective side to them, especially toward their family and the women they love. Readers will have fun trying to pick a favorite Marshall brother or just loving them all equally instead! You can’t go wrong with any of these brothers!
Ford is highly recommended for fans who enjoy action-packed contemporary romance. If you have not had a chance to read the Montana Marshalls series yet, you need to start reading Knox, Tate, and Ford right away. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
I read Ford cover to cover, couldn’t put it down! I love how Susan developed the underlying insecurities of the two lead characters and worked toward resolution in the most inspiring way! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
