This author astounds me. I love it when that happens. Her vivid portrayal of human suffering make my skin crawl but as I walk with her complex characters through their trials and tribulations they quickly become me and I, them. By “The End” I’m exhausted but proud we’ve come such a long way. Her characters live for months in my head. Now THAT’S the mark of an exceptional writer.
MORE, Miss Ash, please.
When Lochlan is offered land in exchange for a doing a job which he really doesn’t want to do but the lure of promised land has him saying yes. All he has to do is kidnap Lady Isabel Willy’s and keep her until someone comes for her. After Lochlan kidnaps Isabel he begins to find out that things are not as they should be and Isabel is not what he expected. I really enjoyed reading Lochlan and Isabel’s story. Lochlan was definitely swoon worthy and Isabel is definitely a spitfire. It was a very enjoyable read and I definitely recommend this book.
Captain Lochlan MacLean is a mercenary pirate who has been been hired for an unusual job. When he sees his target, he’s not sure he will be able to complete the task.
Isabel Willys has just been given the news that she must marry a man her father has picked for her after the trip with her mother. She needs to find a way to change his mind.
An exciting adventure on the high seas. Quite a sudden ending that seems slightly unfinished. Needed an epilogue. Unless it’s part of a series.
Scotland 1843 One wants land to call his own when he is not sailing on his ship. The other to not be forced to marry against her will. What could these two possibly have in common? Her father.
Lochlan and fought his way up and managed to earn his own pirate ship but he also was a mercenary. When he received a missive to find and bring a man’s daughter home, he would be paid with land and money, but he had to figure a way to keep her safe.
Isabel was traveling with her mother to court, since her mother’s cousin, King Edward, IV had passed away. Her father had treated her cruely before they left saying she would marry a man of his choosing when she got back. She prayed she could get out of it somehow!
When these two collide, and Lochlan takes her to his ship, she mistakenly thinks he is the man her father was forcing her to marry. But what happens when she finds out he is not and can he resist her?
A quick story that keeps you turning the pages!!
Another adventure in the Pirates of Britannia series, this story has a pirate captain, Lochlan “Choas” MacClean, leading his crew on a paid mission to kidnap a young woman. Isabel Willys is their target, and they’re hired to keep her safe and essentially help her father to get her married off against her will.
But, the problem is that Isabel and Lochlan end up with more than just a little attraction for each other.
This is a short, fun story with a few entertaining characters, charming pirates among them.
Pirate mercenary Lochlan MacLean had always wanted land to call his own. When he receives a strange message from a father, wanting his daughter kidnapped, his moral compass went away with the promise of land and coin. Little did Lady Isabel Willys realize that her father was planning a marriage for her, to relieve him of his many debts. Naturally, she was against this marriage and she wanted nothing to do with the promised widowed Scottish laird. What happens to her when she is kidnapped and sailed away from England keeps you turning the pages to find out. I enjoyed this reading this adventure by Brenna Ash.
