This one wasn’t a favorite of mine.
I liked the character of Maxim. He was a straight shooter and loved to ruffle Parker’s feathers.
Parker was a hit and miss type of characters. There were times I liked her but other times she drove me nuts. I get why she was working to get the name changed but come on. Also, she was trying to stop her species from extention. That’s alot to carry on your shoulders.
Tactical Bear is the fourth book in the P.O.L.A.R. series, but could be read alone. Parker is determined to find her bunny mate so that she can help raise the dwindling bunny population back up, but the polar bears that have dominated her island keep messing up her plans. One in particular. Maxim. The bear she can’t help but fight with, dream about, and want to kiss. But will Maxim be able to convince Parker that they’re perfect together, or will his alpha-hole ways drive them apart?
Oh, I really enjoyed this book! There’s some pretty extreme sparks that fly between Parker and Maxim, some from anger and a lot from lust! Their chemistry is definitely explosive, almost being corrosive, but I loved that in the end, they both fought for each other. Parker is stubborn, determined, and has dreams that she’s completely focused on. Maxim is kind of a playboy, but I loved that he had to get to a low point to realize his mistakes, and I also loved that he fought so hard for Parker, even if it was the wrong ways to win her. Besides the drama that they created for themselves, there’s not too much danger in this book, but trust me, the sparks that do fly are both entertaining and once I started this book, I did not put it down! I was thinking I’d read a chapter or two before bed and the next thing I knew, I finished the book! So good! I have really enjoyed this series so far and loved this addition!
Another entertaining book to the P.O.L.A.R. series. This is Maxim and Parker’s story and probably my favorite so far. Imagine a big strong polar bear mating a tiny little bunny .. total opposites in yet are the perfect pair. I loved their characters and fun loving romance. The author does a fantastic job bringing the story to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. I loved this book/series and would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
For honest review. Parker is a rare hugh Heather rabbit shifter who works at the rise and shine bed and breakfast wanting people to sign her petition while she does her job. maxim a bear shifter works for P.O.L.O.R. In Florida . This is really funny ,cute that you will be cutting for the rabbit shifter.
While this might be the funniest book in the series (so far), the underlying story was very touching.
Parker is trying to make a difference for her entires species of shifters (rabbits) in a way that she thinks is effective.
Maxim, on the other hand, thinks Parker should just welcome him with open arms, dropping all of her aspirations, just because he has discovered she is his mate.
Can Maxim see beyond the “destined mates” to really understand Parker or is he only driven by the mating instinct? Can she make him see that the causes she believes in are an important part of who she is? And why she feels so strongly about those beliefs?
Very poignant story for today…
I ended up enjoying this book and liking the characters but I will be honest and say it took a while. In my opinion Maxim and Parker start off as pretty unlikable characters. Both of these characters have EXTREME personalities. I felt that this was kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand it made for epic clashes and battles of will that generated lots of heat, sparks and sharp banter but on the other these characters could come off as too harsh, mean, judgy and even quite hateful. So, yeah it took me quite a while to warm up to them. I do feel that in the end the struggle was worth it because they shaped up into a perfect pair that inspireded much needed growth in the other.
This one does not disappoint
Kerrigan, befuddled dispatcher, avoids interacting with Dmitry, the assassin of P.O.L.A.R., due to her growing attraction to him. As the story progresses danger comes from multiple locations and fighting the attraction from both parties may lead to damaging their future. Candace Ayers’ second book in her P.O.L.A.R. series does not disappoint for a quick afternoon read. I would love to know more about Serge and Hannah’s story and am looking forward to reading about the rest of the crew.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
