Can love survive secrets and lies? Chris Kinard lives a double life. In one he’s an emergency room nurse, who saves lives and helps the sick. In the other, he’s the club medic and a member of the Demented Souls MC. While the secrecy of these dual existences heavily weighs on him, Kinard knows he could never turn his back on the brotherhood. Unable to take the soul-crushing stress of the ICU any … stress of the ICU any longer, Deanna prays transferring to the emergency room will be an improvement. While she wasn’t counting on another nurse capturing her heart, one look at Kinard made her pulse race. As much as she longs to be with him, Deanna knows there are parts of his life he’s keeping hidden from her.
How long can Kinard keep up the charade before his world comes crashing down? Will his web of secrets destroy any chance with Deanna?

I have enjoyed this series so far and know I will continue to listen, but this one felt a little flat for me. I felt that the relationship was in too much of a rush and that they didn’t really get to know each other or much about the club before devoting themselves to each other. Maybe if the book had been a bit longer so that I would have been able to connect to the characters more it would have been more enjoyable. The narration was fantastic for what the book was.
Kinard (Demented Souls Book 4).
Melissa Stevens.
Five books in this series.
Two sides to Kinard’s life are pulling him apart. Deanna transfers to the ER from ICU and meets Chris. Will her love and acceptance of all of him keep him whole?
A quick, fun read.

This is another short story in this series. We have met Kinard in the past. He is the clubs medic but he also works at the ER. Them at is where he meets Deanna. Through a couple mishaps they end up hanging out together.
I did listen to this on audio. D.C. Cole is wonderful as always. While I enjoyed it I feel like I don’t really get to know the characters that well. So I wish it was a bit longer. I mean Who doesn’t want more?
Kinard
Demented Souls, Book 4
By: Melissa Stevens
Narrated by: D. C. Cole
Secrets can ruin a relationship and when Chris, and ER nurse finds himself attracted to Deanna, he is torn about what he should do. Deanna recently transferred to the ER from ICU, needing a change, but is Chris what she was looking for? Now as their relationship builds, Chris is called in for help, and only Deanna can come to his aid to help him. Will his brotherhood be the game changer? I love this short, passionate story. It has meat to it, with a good plot, wonderful characters and action. Stevens has a great series building with this 4th book of the series, and I am enjoying getting to know all the MC members. She is creating a community with the crossover of the previous people we have met and it make the read familiar and exciting.
DC Cole continues his fabulous narration of this series. He has mastered these men, each having a consistent and distinguishable voice from book to book. I love the passion and personality building he invokes in his portrayal of the motorcycle club, and can’t wait for the next release.

This is the fourth book in the Demented Souls MC. This book is about Chris Kinard and he finds himself balancing the two lives he leads. Chris has his professional life as an ER nurse which he loves and is great at but he also has his MC life as well where he puts that knowledge and experience to use patching his brothers up. This balancing act of keeping things separate is about to mix. Deanna is an ICU nurse but needs a change so she moves to the ER. She meets and begins working with Chris. Another balancing act comes into play, keeping things professional or mixing in personal. Can Chris keep everything separate or will his house of cards fall? If everything falls and everything is revealed, will.Deanna still be part of his life? This is on the shorter side for a story but still.contains everything needed for a good read. Enjoy!

Kinard and Deanna.
Work in a hospital together. They have great chemistry and conversation.
Deanna is surprised when she sees Chris Kinard on a motorcycle as he works in a hospital. She’s even more intrigued when she finds out he’s in the Denented Souls MC.
I liked these two people who care for others fall for each other, along with MC drama of course.

Kinard and Deanna’s story is filled with suspense, secrets, passion and twists. I loved reading about the connection between Kinard and Deanna. This is a very enjoyable read that is well written.

Deanna needs a change from the emotional rigors of being an ICU nurse. She starts working in the ER and meets Chris Kinard, who has a lot of nursing experience in the ER. As they get to know one another, Chris hesitates to reveal his role in the Demented Souls until one fateful night, when their skills are indispensable. Kinard is a short novel that shows how important Chris is as the club’s medic. I enjoyed reading his story with Deanna and the appearance of other club members.

The plot was well written and planned and the characters were so well detailed that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page! I look forward to reading more from this author!
Talk about secrets and suspense and twists and turns. Kinard is keeping secrets and it’s only a matter of time before they are exposed. I love him and Deanna. You could tell their connection but the secrets don’t let them have what they should. It was a great read!
