I left police work after my partner and mentor, was killed, swearing off the badge forever. After that night, strange things started happening to me. Things I didn’t understand—things I had to hide from everyone. Trying to avoid the truth, I throw myself into being a private investigator. It keeps me from getting too close to anyone again. When an old friend from the force begs me to help … to help investigate several mysterious murders, I can’t say no. But what I uncover is beyond anything I could possibly believe.
And when a woman walks into my office and asks for my help in finding her missing sister, I find myself tangled up in a mystery that involves the murders I’ve been investigating. To make matters worse, I’m drawn to her in ways I wish I wasn’t–but our chemistry can’t be denied. When her life is threatened, I’ll throw everything I swore out the window and stop at nothing to protect her.
Can our newfound attraction withstand the danger coming for us, or will I lose someone else I care about?
One thing is for certain… I’ll stop running from the truth if it means saving us all.
This book contains a lot of panty-dropping sexiness! There is raw sexual language (aka dirty talk), a little violence, and tons of heat! It is intended for readers 18+ and fans of the naughty stuff.

Phoenix Night is an action packed, steamy, paranormal romantic suspense! This book has a little of everything keeping me intrigued and entertained. Phoenix is a PI and looking into a possible serial killing of young girls. When approached by Aurora, a woman whose sister is missing too, the case becomes personal. There is something about Aurora that has his undivided attention. And he will not let her down. Phoenix and Aurora are great characters. Aside from their chemistry, they have a true connection that only aids in their abilities.
Xander Stone narrates this a deep, alpha voice perfect for Phoenix. It is my first listen by him, and I really enjoyed his voices, pace and tone.
One of my all time favorite authors.

One tragic night Phoenix’s partner was killed in the line of duty and Phoenix deeply regrets he could not save him. The killer was something more than human and passed that along to Phoenix. He no longer wanted to stay on the force, so he started Phoenix Investigations. His friend, Max, however, calls him to a troubling crime scene to discreetly ask help with special details. He also takes on a new client, Aurora, whose sister is missing. He suspects the two cases are linked in perilous ways. Phoenix Knight is an exciting novel and I will be reading more of this author’s work.
