Just because something is legal, doesn’t make it right.I never expected that leaving the refuge of Corvallis would result in such dire circumstances. When rogue rovers commandeer our airship, I’m left with an impossible choice. Stay and risk my life to save the others or let them be captured along with me. Just because a choice is hard, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. There’s no question. I choose them. … no question. I choose them. Even if it means I arrive on Bath as a prisoner and slave. Bath is more dangerous, perhaps, than even my home city of Tartarus. Rogue Rovers. Black market slavery. A strange girl with a dark secret. I find myself dropped right back where I started. Alone and helpless. There are no friends on Bath, only alliances and I need to be very careful who I choose to align myself with. And what I promise them in the name of freedom.

My favorite book so far!
I really loved seeing the progress that Cass has made personally. Yes, she’s a flawed character still, but that’s what makes her relatable. Of course I also enjoyed seeing her relationship progress with the guys. I also really loved how this book ended, especially knowing I’ll be waiting a bit for the next one. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Great world and character building in this story. This is an intriguing plot that is very well written and has a lot of emotion and action in it.

Sword of Damage by Lucy Smoke is a great story to read. This is book number three in this great Sci-Fi series that I have enjoyed reading. I don’t read a lot of Sci-Fi but I really enjoyed this one. I recoomend this story to everyone likes reading about Sci-Fi.

Cass thought she had seen the worst of the worst in her life. She’s used to the struggle. Bath is a whole new world though. When everything is legal, who keeps people from doing bad things? So Cass finds herself in a heck of a situation in this book. No matter how dire her situation though Cass never gives up and never loses who she is. She is such a fierce, loyal and caring character. The guys have their own tale in this book too even if they are a little separate from Cass for a bit. As always we have a ton of action, adventure, twists and turns and hold onto your seats moments. We also pick up a little steam in this book as well.
I’m not always one for the details and the world building. I’m all about the story and what happens. But Lucy does an amazing job of not only describing the worlds we are visiting but making you actually care.
This series has been one of my favorite since it released and it really does just keep getting better and better. Can’t wait for the next one.
Wow, book 3 in Lucy Smoke’s Sky Cities series blew me out of the water! This one might just be my favorite so far. Such great world building, relationship weaving, and lots of twists you don’t see coming. Loved this book, amazing job by Lucy for keeping us at the edge of our seats the whole time! Definitely recommend
Bath. Even more dangerous than the criminal city of Tartarus because here, everything is legal. Every last vice can be found and purchased. Everything, everyone has a price. After a brief stay in Corvallis, Cass and the guys arrive at Bath. But caring for others comes with a risk and Cass makes her choice. One that puts her at the mercy of Rogue Rovers and turned into a commodity. Black-market slavery is her new fate. She becomes a doll but within days is the property of a mysterious, powerful girl. She has one job and a short timeline to accomplish it to regain her freedom.
Whew! I’m not sure I took a deep breath from the moment Bath was in sight until Haze’s final words. This is an anxiety-provoking, non-stop adventure. The sense of dread never left me. Cass once again proved herself to be a reckless, fearless force of nature who will do whatever it takes for the people she cares about while stopping along the way to help the innocent. I’m not sure what I love most about her; her resourcefulness or the fact she picks up strays at each stop. Her guys showed their cards more in this book as well. Their methods may have been questionable but their determination to find and recover Cass was heartfelt. I love the guys; Thayer, Haze, Aaron, and Levi but I’m uneasy about the last two. I love M/M but when it’s part of an RH, there’s a fine line. I need for the girl to always be the center. Here I feel like the men may have deeper feelings for each other (understandably) than they do for Cass. This bothers me. Then there’s Noaz. I don’t even have the words. His leadership, his strength, his intelligence, his secrecy are all qualities that draw me in. His depth was revealed even more this time. When he finally opened up it revealed just how much more there is to this man. It amplified every quality he has. Love, love, love him. Overall, this combination of men is quite intriguing. I feel like we are still getting to know them. So many layers to sift through.
The world-building in this series is unmatched. Each new city is unique and the description is so vivid. You could smell the oil on Corvallis and the reek of corruption and danger on Bath. You can feel the grime on the streets, feel the air whip past you on the trains, and see the blood and sweat fly in the fights. The real feel of danger though is always with the governors. They all seem slightly unhinged whether it’s their lust for power or riches or retribution. Each scene with a governor has a tension so thick you could cut it. With each new city, time is running out for humanity but for the first time, I felt a sliver of hope for the future. Humanity’s sense of survival may be our strongest trait. We are selfish, we act out when scares, but we rise to the occasion when we are fighting for our lives and those we love. This group cemented their bonds and trust during this book. Cass became their glue. Now they all understand. I can’t imagine them failing.
Keeps getting better and better
The detail provided when creating these worlds and characters in your mind’s eye is astonishing. The twists will leave you with head spins. With each book I read of Lucy’s I think that her writing cannot get any better, but Lucy continues to prove me wrong and amazes me with each new addition.
I have been waiting for this book and let me tell you it was sooo worth the wait. The story continues where it finished at end of book 2 and Cass and her guys are on the move again. Packed full of drama and excitement from the getgo, the writer ensnares you with her amazing storyline, well written you get completely entrenched in the story. I am loving this series and will now look forward to book 4!
I just love the details and world building of this book. Cass and the guys are back at it again trying to save the cities. This time they are in Bath and their relationships are tested while they search for more information on how to save the cities.
