Werecougar Lily Mason has sworn off investigating crimes in Moonrise, Missouri. No more bodies, no more intrigue, and more importantly, no more murderers. But her plans for an easy-breezy drama and danger-free life is put on hold when a friend asks for her help in investigating a suspicious death. When elderly Opal Dixon breaks a hip and must recuperate in a nursing home, she spends all her time … spends all her time complaining about her annoying roommate, her idiot doctor, and the laundry service that keeps losing her clothes to anyone who will listen. So, Lily is less than convinced when Opal insists a nursing home suicide is really foul play.
Still, to ease her friend’s fears, Lily agrees to look into the situation. With her loyal dog Smooshie at her side while she delves into the case, Lily soon learns that it’s not all bingo and low-sodium diets at Moonrise Manor.
And when Opal’s suspicions make her the next target, Lily realizes she’s running out of time to save her friend…and stop a sadistic killer.

I’ve been listening to these series and they continue to entertain. Opal and Pearl are involved in this mystery and Pearl has a boyfriend! Lily accidently walked in on them doing the nasty flamigo lol. Opal and Pearl’s friend Abby is killed. Nadine is pregnant, Reggie is engaged. And, well now this group is aware of shifters. Greer and Reggie took it very well. Also, love Buzz.
Friends Don’t Let Friends Stand Alone
This book has a plot that stands alone quite well, but the back-story is well worth reading this series in order. This episode has a fascinating plot with lots of sneaky stuff going on. The author puts together a riveting tale that you don’t want to put down. Her writing is so smooth that the story moves quickly. I have fallen in love with this series and have bought them all! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with a slightly paranormal bent and a touch of romance. I am so glad that I bought this book. I am keeping it to read the series over again!
Lily and Smoochie are involved in a new murder mystery but there is no way the nurse killed should have been murder she was nice to everyone and she cared about her patients. Lily, Opal and Pearl seem to get in over their heads but Lily is special so she can get out of a situation a lot quicker but that is a secret only revealed to the few but she is on the trail of a killer along with the police. she has two best friends who are their to help her along with her significant other Parker and his dog. Great characters, love this story line. A good read. I was given an Advance Reader Copy by the author as a gift without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
Lily and Smooshie the wonder pitty manage to get tangled in another murder. They did not find the body this time, yet managed to prevent another death or two.
The family is growing in more ways than one as Parker and Lily get more settled, and his Dad Greer gets serious with her bestie Reggie.
Theresa is doing better in terms of health and finances, and her pregnancy seems to be proceeding in a healthy way.
Girl power to the rescue when trouble is uncovered. Some secrets losing secret status might help some relationships.
A rollicking adventure!
I am very hooked on this series and enjoyed an advance copy of this book.
Well worth reading!
This author can sure satisfy a craving when it is wanting a good mystery. The one who helps with that is Lily whom keeps insisting one thing but trials of life and a friend help change that decision. I adore her and can not forget her dog Smooshie either as they takes us on quite the adventure. It will be filled with the mystery you crave as your brain starts the 5 w’s. These guys do it to me everytime with having me loose track of time because I have to know. Sprinkled with bits of humor this is one delicious one to satisfy.
Lily is getting her Veterinary degree, working and volunteering. She’s way too busy to investigate any more murders, so she tells her elderly friend who swears the suicide of one of the rehab’s nurses was a murder. She could say no to almost anyone else. Especially when some more things happening with no answers.
Smooshie, Lily’s big old sweet pup, shows her cute self, her boyfriend, Parker, her gal pals plus some more people get involved to figure it out. Was she killed or did she take her own life?
Lily wasn’t born to have friends and family. She’s a warecougar. Born alone but she likes the town the people and Parker. And so will you. Although there are references to other adventures, this book is complete and all the characters introduced to make the story complete. There is plenty of intrigue and humor as the investigation progresses.
I recommend it to cozy fans, PNR fans, romance fans. Five-star fun.
This author never fails to provide a wonderful story that keeps you engrossed and engaged from the first page to the last! First: Never a spoiler in my reviews! Second, I received an ARC of this book and am providing my honest, unsolicited review to assist you in deciding on purchasing this book! Nothing is ever as it appears in this delightful cozy mystery when Smooshie and Lily get involved in investigating a murder at a nursing home. Mystery, fun, twists and turns await you in this well-written story that will have you questioning whether or not there is such a thing as too many ‘helpful friends.’ Although helpful, you don’t have to read this series in the order they were written to enjoy the stories and the antics, but it’s helpful as you learn the quirks and personalities of the characters. However, after you read this book, if you haven’t read the ones before this one (in the series) you will certainly want to.
Lily’s life is quite busy these days with school, work, volunteering at the shelter, Smooshie and Parker so the last thing she needs is another murder to solve. Of course, when good friends are involved, she can’t say no. This is another fun, quirky mystery that will keep you guessing.
Telling Secrets
Smooshie is back even though she is not prominent in this story she is still one of my favorite characters.
Lily life continues to improve and evolve since she has moved to Moonrise. She is gaining more and more friends by living there. Parker is still an important part of her life.
Loving these characters and they never get old. Something is always happening to them. The author has expanded this book to be more about their friends and it is nice to see those character becoming the focal point.
The best kind of pet is in a book. No cleanup.
Lilly checking into another murder for her friend Opal. They say Abbie overdosed, but her friends don’t believe that. There is a lot going on trying to find the culprit. Attempts on Lilly’s life. I loved Smooshie, the pit bull. And Parker’s surprises for Lilly. Excellent book. Received this book for free for an honest review.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
She did not want to, but when Opal asked Lily, she could not say no.
A nurse killed herself, or another option is that the killer made it look like a suicide.
Once again Lily and the gang are back again solving another case.
Did Abby killed herself or what did she know that got her killed ?
Lily and Parker are so cute together.
Let’s not forget Smooshie!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I LOVE this series! I love Lily and Smooshie and all the gang. In this fabulous installment Lily tries to solve the murder of a friend of a friend and realizes just how many friends she has now. This story has all the feels. I can’t recommend enough.
This family is growing! Love this group!!! of course Smooshie is my fave but Lily is coming into her own and starting to be comfortable in her new world. Am glad Buzz is starting to make strides also. These 3 ladies should start their own PI business ….they are good at the clues! Pearl n Opal are a hoot and the comic relief! LOL I have a few realtives that remind me of Pearl n Opal! This story is fast paced and just as entertaining as all the stories. I love how they build on each other =) The reveal to Greer and Reggie went really smooth and how awesome to have some lil cousins for Lily expected soon!!! Would be nice to find another shifter or witch in the mix…hint hint! LOL
Thank you Ms. George for an awesome read!!!
Lily finds Opal recuperating in a nursing home after breaking her hip. The next day Lily finds Opal in tears because a close friend was found dead of an apparent suicide. Opal believes it’s murder and convinces Lily to investigate.
This is a great cozy. The killer has done a really good job of covering their tracks. Good thing that Lily, Nadine and Reggie are investigating! With a push and some help from Opal and Pearl, Lily gets things figured out and prevents even more murders.
There are some awesome surprises in this one. Things I had hoped for, but never saw coming! And the bathroom scene, just OMG! If i had been drinking something when I read that, I would have snorted it out of my nose! So funny! Theses characters are great and Renee George does a fantastic job of bringing them to life.
It seems that the mysteries persecute Lily no matter her resolve to avoid them. Ah! And the secrets were not far behind. Here were many and juicy. With the ingenious old ladies in the foreground getting attention and Lily being forced to help them, things get interesting and risky. Intriguing situations, suspense, funny scenes, friendship, adorable pets, secrets, danger and a murderer loose in this story. An interesting mystery that kept me laughing sometimes and others with my eyes wide open following the clues in search of the culprit.
This story get 10 star for its awesomeness! And 5 paws to Smooshie.
Moonrise, Missouri
Is the human town Lily Mason moved to. She is a were cougar and trouble seems to find her and Smooshie her dog where ever Lily goes. She has a great human boyfriend who knows all about her. He is an animal activist and runs the pit pull rescue. Lily is going to college plus working two jobs so you would think that would keep her out of trouble. This time the craziness started over an old women’s broken hip to find out all the fun and crazy details you just going to have to read it like i did but know it’s well worth it! Just make sure you not sitting in a very quiet public place. You will get funny looks for laughing out loud. I found this out the hard way lol.
This town is full of crazy and Lily is finding them all.
I love this amazing adventure fun mystery story. Its awesome so much action, drama, and mystery. The characters are adorable and so fantastic they become like visiting friends with each books and over the top fantastic. There was no putting this story down once you start reading. Completely amazing. Each story is a complete story but each book does a little building off each other so the more you read the deeper you in lol
Don’t miss it. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
Opal and Pearl have cracked me up in previous books and I am glad to see Opal as a highlight in Prune Pit Murder. Opal is a feisty lady with some things to say and when she says it’s murder, then it’s time for Lily and Smooshie! Add in Parker, a little Uncle Buzz & Nadine, and other flavorful characters and we’ve got a funtastic mystery! I so enjoy the antics of Lily as she goes about solving the crimes. I love Smooshie to death (not literally). The twists in the story were a surprise and kept me reading.
While this is part of a series and does include characters from precious books, it was readable as a stand-alone. I didn’t feel that anything would be missed by not reading the others first. However, reading the first would just add to how lovable some of the characters are as well as the town dynamics.
Lily is really enjoying life right now….she’s in college, she’s enjoying working at the local veterinarian’s office, her volunteering at the animal shelter is very satisfying, and her boyfriend, Parker, is the love of her life. Everything is just perfect. Sadly, that’s when things in the town of Moonrise tend to go wrong.
When a well-liked nurse is found dead, the police thinks it’s suicide…but her patients aren’t convinced. They ask Lily to look into things to find the truth. She’s more than happy to help…but if she’s not careful, the next “suicide” could be her own.
