The Conjuring a Coroner Series just keeps getting better and better. Book four, One Foot In The Grave by S. C. Stokes is excitement by the minute in this urban fantasy Who Done It. NYC Ninth Prescient Detective Bishop and medical examiner Kacey are an excellent team in investigating murders. Suspense with edge of your seat action, One Foot In The Grave, has a shape shifting killer and an Arcane Council member on the run. Will he be able to clear his name or have to stay on the run? And what is the shape shifter really up to. Each book get more interesting and pulls you in to keep waiting for the next in series. Fun entertaining read.
I was given a free copy from the writer in exchange for an honest review.
This is an action packed book with hair raising tension. A definite page turner. Kasey is on the run from an imposter in the ADI. She identifies the killer of Theodore Getz, the personal assistant to Chancellor Ainslie for twenty-three years. He had been tortured and shot to death because he knew the true identity of the Chancellor. When Kasey also finds out who he is through her use of her magic, she and Sanders, the head of ADI, end up running from one disaster to another as they skirt and battle with ADI agents ordered to shoot and kill them on the spot. Unfortunately, we are left with the dreaded cliffhanger until the next book in the Conjuring the Coroner series comes out. I can hardly wait to see what Mr. Stokes has in store for us in book five. If you like action packed, page turning, hair raising urban fantasy then you will love this one. Highly recommended.
OK, so I somehow missed the release of one of the books in S.C. Stokes’ Conjuring A Coroner series. When I found out I immediately downloaded copies of both One Foot In The Grave (Book 4) and One Last Breath (Book 5), but I promised (promised!) myself that I’d have some proper time management and not binge read these. Silly me. It’s 6am and I just finished Book 5 after a zombie-like (in more ways than one as I definitely feel zombie-ish now) pursuit of more and more pages. These two books were just too freakin’ wonderful and dangerously addictive to put down. Kasey, our star here, is the perfect version of the sort of kick-a** and take no prisoners heroine I adore the most, and these books are the perfect example of what adrenaline fueled urban fantasy should be. Wonderfully written and a wild roller coaster of fun, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises. Both books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each of these books is most definitely “one to read”, and it is easy to highly recommend both of them.
When seeing the future is the only way to stay safe or is it the PAST????

What did I like? I love this series and this one just topped all the rest. I don’t ever want it to end!!!!! Kasey has her hands full this time and it’s not just her regular job that is the problem. Murder and mayhem are all around her and even killers.
@ddeegott What will you like? Excellent writing and explosive with action, tense situations, and unique characters that move off the page into your space! Magic is popping and the killer is one of the good guys, or NOT??? This is one of the most intense of the series so get your heart pills because it will be stopping every page. Be sure to make room for a one sit reading as you won’t be able to put it down till the final page. I received this ARC copy for an honest review with no other compensation.
