Daisy Greenwell knows what it’s like to hit rock bottom. Mentally, she climbed her way slowly back to the top after losing her legs. It seemed only natural to want to aid others once she’d learned how to help herself. Her love of people, animals, and her keen understanding of loss has pushed her to tackle her toughest client of all: a handsome ex-soldier named Ethan. Ethan Minter lost everything … everything in the blink of an eye. When a bomb goes off during his tour of Afghanistan, he comes home a broken man to a world he doesn’t recognize. He’s depressed, lonely, and unsure how to start over… until he meets her.
In Daisy’s eyes, Ethan finds a strength he didn’t know he had and a hope for dreams he’d once thought were long gone. Could this beautiful woman be just the breath of fresh air he needs? Could loving Daisy give him a second chance at the future he’s always wanted- or will her secret take it all away?

This was a really great story that I had trouble setting down! Very emotional things for both of the main characters to deal with including trauma and questioning their worth to others. I thought this was a great story.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited.
Ethan lost his leg in Afghanistan. Now he’s back home but he’s not only physically but also mentally broken. When he finally goes to a therapist he meets Daisy and her dog. When she dropped Baxter in his arms he starts to heal a little bit, and their friendship helps also because she knows what he going through. But will this stay only a friendship or can they both overcome their insecurities and find love?
I so loved this story, it has so much emotions. This is one of the best stories that I’ve read by Ginny Sterling. Can’t wait for Colin and Ava’s story.
This is a great story for everyone! The characters are so wonderful, especially Daisy. Daisy is so patient and caring. My heart hurt for all that both Ethan and Daisy had been through. I felt like I was right there in the story and I wanted to shake Ethan, to tell him he was still a whole person. The author makes the reader feel and live what Ethan is going through. The romance is clean and Ethan is such a gentleman. I didn’t want this book to end, such a wonderful story!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This was such an emotional book for me to read! Both characters, Ethan and Daisy, had very emotional and physical journeys to pass through and as I read this, I couldn’t help being so grateful for the body that I have and take forgranted at times! Ethan lost his leg in Afghanistan to a land mine and had a very difficult time, at first, dealing with the aftermath. Daisy runs a counseling service using dogs to help people with difference problems and she knows Ethan is a broken man. Daisey herself lost both her limbs so she is uniquely qualified to help Ethan but that doesn’t always help. I loved the journey that they both took. The insecurities they had and how they helped each other. The secondary characters were also fantastic. Yes, I cried in places! Be ready to root for this couple and cheer them on to a forever relationship!
This book is so good. It brought laughter and tears.
Ethan Minter lost a portion of his leg while deployed to Afghanistan. He is struggling with everything. Work, social life, loss of the friendships he had in the military. He is broken and does not know how to climb up out of his depression.
Daisy Greenwell lost her legs due to an infection. She sunk into a severe depression. The gift of a puppy named slobbers helped her to realize just what she needed to do with her life. Daisy became a counselor for the many people that have lost hope and have had severe trauma’s in their life. Her group became a haven for many.
Ethan comes to the group one evening after much coaxing from Daisy. They develop a friendship and both secretly hope it will lead to more.
Ethan is dealing with his loss of his leg, but also is falling for Daisy. Concerns rise on both sides and they struggle through them. Will a chasm that develops between them ruin everything? Can a man from Ethan’s past bring some happiness back into his life and allow him to move forward into a future of happiness with Daisy?
The plot of this book and the characters are beautifully written. They have deep personalities and you find yourself rooting for them!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
