Foul-mouthed and sexy as sin, this bad boy is about to turn her entire world upside down…
I’m Frankie Greco. Since I can remember, a little voice inside my head has whispered to me whenever I hear lies. To distract myself, I focus on my career. I recently bought out what used to be one of the hottest nightclubs in Los Angeles, so it’s not hard. There are few people I let in, and only they know my secret. But romantic relationships never last long.
That is, until I met Julian. I don’t know if it was the instant, primal attraction, but I couldn’t get a read on this guy to save my life. And I definitely wasn’t prepared for what letting him in would start; the pieces of my past that would come back to haunt me. I didn’t think it was possible to surprise a girl who can spot a lie a mile away. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

This is an interesting story. Frankie can detect lies. Has been able to do so her whole life. It has caused some problems along the way and it doesn’t help a relationship. When Frankie meets Julian at her club, she doesn’t detect any lies. Could he be for real? Julian tries his best to not lie to Frankie, but his employer wants information. He isn’t sure why he wants the information, but Julian just does as he is told. Until he meets Frankie. Julian has known for a while that he is tired of doing his employer’s bidding and knows that he has to quit. Even though he was told to stay away from Frankie, he can’t do it. He has to tell her all he knows. Will that put her in jeopardy and will she ever want to see him again? He knows he isn’t worthy of her, but he can’t leave her alone. I liked the twist at the end.
I enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing and turning pages. Despite Frankie’s psychic ability of detecting lies, I kept wondering who she could trust and if they would betray her. I didn’t even fully trust her love interest, Julian, at first. The romantic relationship between them is a slow burn full of sexual chemistry. Their love scenes are hot and there are plenty of them. I was given a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Frankie’s lie-detecting prowess is problematic at times, keeping her from close relationships. Julian is a bad boy with secrets. He doesn’t actually lie per se; he just hasn’t told the entire truth. I love Frankie – such a badass, with her take-no-prisoners attitude. I want to love Julian (and I do eventually), but I just know he’s gonna hurt her when she finds out his truths. Drama with Julian’s boss – some suspense – holy cow, the family secrets that were kept from Frankie – steamy scenes… All causing Frankie to question everything she knew. Best quote from the book… “My past may have shaped me, but I choose what my life is now.” I loved reading this book, so glad that I had the chance to do so. This book pulled me in and kept me entranced till the end. The feelings of love, hate, and pain coming out in waves making you want to cry while you read. This was such a beautiful book! I loved the characters wholesomeness!

This is a well written book with strong characters in Frankie and Julian. The author does a fantastic job building the story and pulled me in with all the twists and turns as well as the smokin hot chemistry. She paints her scenes vividly and moves the story fluidly. I was glued to the pages reading their story and would highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
An entertaining read. Frankie has a superpower, she can detect when someone is lying to her. Julian is the one person she can’t read. This is their story, it will keep you reading till the end to see what happens next. I enjoyed this book.
This is a quick read. It was an interesting story. Frankie has the ability to tell when someone is lying to her. She meets Julian, and her lie detector isn’t going off, but she still feels that he is hiding something from her. There are twist and an ending that was a surprise.
Everybody Lies! If that isn’t a loaded gun. This book was way more than what I expected when I began reading it, and it definitely gave more with each turn of the page. Everybody lies. “It’s a necessary coping mechanism. That’s easy for me to forget with the constant voice in my head reminding me of every little transgression, like it’s something unnatural, wrong, and harmful. And sometimes it is. But sometimes, it’s just what we need to do to protect ourselves.” – Frankie
Could you imagine being Frankie, knowing every lie that someone told? Then Julian comes along and she can’t tell left, right, up or down when it comes to him. He’s not lying to her, but there’s something he’s not telling her. As much as his fleeing ways annoy her, and the fact she can’t discern what he’s hiding, these two are hot as Hades! She’s forbidden, but he has to have a taste, but if she knew who he was…would she still desire him? The kicker is, Julian isn’t the only one hiding something from her, and the ones who know her best are the ones hiding the biggest, baddest secrets and lies. S/N: Nils needs an HEA. He seems like a really good guy. Also, Emma… There’s possibilities in this coupling and potentially hot, steamy, dye jobs…you know.
MELANIE!!! I was not ready, but WOW, did I enjoy the ride. If you promise to keep writing, I promise to keep reading.
This was hot and spicy. The connection between the H and h was instant and hot. The back story keeps you glued to the earbuds or pages whichever you are listening or reading on. There was twists and turns I definitely did not suspect at all which was a pleasant surprise. David Philip Reed does an amazing voice.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Loved the suspense and intrigue in this one. Oh, and the hotness. 5 stars.
Francesca is a fiery, strong, awesome female lead. She takes no messing, and she doesn’t back down from a challenge.
Julian is a book boyfriend bad boy! Seriously, the stuff of my dreams.
Together these two characters are explosive. Off the charts explosive! But as with a romance novel, that happy ending doesn’t come easily. A book full of emotion and betrayal, Frankie and Julian have to work real hard to battle the people that threaten to break them.
A deliciously seductive read that will have you racing to the end.
Five stars without a doubt.
A new author to me. I was glad to read all the great reviews and once I started it was hard to put down. I’ve never read any book description about a human lie detector with trust issues. Now there’s a conundrum. The problem I had was the lack of background – the story theme was interesting enough but there was little to none explanation of what was going on. I also agree with the characters seemed stagnant. But for what the story missed, the author added in sex, sex, sex. I like steamy scenes as much as anyone but the sex scenes took over the story and after a while with no real depth to the characters or story, it got a bit monotonous for me. I’m going to give the author any other try as she has many great reviews.

Note: This is a full length, standalone steamy contemporary romantic suspense novel. This book includes mature content, and as such is not recommended for readers under 18 years of age, or those who might be offended / triggered by such material.
Frankie Greco is a human lie detector. Something just pings in her head when someone lies to her. One thing she’s learned is that everybody lies at one time or another. It might be a little white lie or it might be a whopper. There are all kinds of reasons a person might lie.
Because of her ‘gift’, her personal relationships have gone nowhere. Only one or two people know about her gift and they are the only people she trusts.
When she met Julian, she fell for him instantly. Yes, he mentioned a couple of things that set off the voices in her head, but she was so enamored of him, she bent her own rules in dating anyone who lies to her.
Julian skates on the edge of lies … but he has an agenda and falling for Frankie wasn’t a part of the plan.
I generally don’t mind a bit of spice with my reading, as long as the story is a good one. This one disappointed me in that the story was only a very small part. Most of the book I found to be nothing but graphic sex and the ‘F’ word repeated over and over again. The mystery of Julian was a few short pages at the surprising end. This one is just not my cup of tea.
