Rebecca Jordan’s life is simple, disciplined, and uncomplicated, at least on the surface. Then she meets a handsome stranger/secret admirer named Michael Vale one fateful late night at a bookstore café. As a focused but struggling photographer with a passion for art, her outwardly happy world is turned upside down during this life-changing encounter when she quickly realizes she has met her soul … soul mate. The undeniable attraction between them and their intense, immediate connection seem picture perfect as they discuss the shop’s local artwork, until Rebecca abruptly ends the chance meeting with no explanation.Betraying Brett, her loyal, loving boyfriend, is something Rebecca can never bring herself to do. Driven by a strong moral code and molded by divorced parents and a tumultuous childhood, she struggles to stay away from Michael, but fate and circumstance intervene, bringing them back together time and time again. As much as she resists, there is no denying her true feelings for him and the simple fact that Michael understands her in a way Brett never has. Michael proves to be everything she’s ever wanted, but remains just out of her reach.Behind the Glass tells the story of Michael and Rebecca’s extraordinary love and the many unconventional stages their relationship must go through. Their morals and their faith in true love and in each other will be put to the test as they learn that meeting one’s soul mate does not come without obstacles.

Wow, this is such a decadent read. Straight off the bat I was completely consumed into Rebecca’s world. Ms. Morgen is a master of creating rich descriptions and fabulous world building that puts you smack in the middle of everything. It’s the first time in a while that I was walking in the land of the characters in the first five pages.
Not only were the descriptions lush and beautiful, but so were the emotions. I felt every tug and pull as Rebecca and Michael walked their path to learning more about each other and falling in love.
But as always, it isn’t that simple. Rebecca is already in a relationship and both Michael and Rebecca have a spot on moral compass that doesn’t allow for exploring their feelings for each other while Rebecca is still attached (but not married, this is important to note!) to another man. But is Rebecca willing to give up the comfort of her relationship with Brett to take a chance with Michael.
The ending was as fulfilling as the story itself and I’d love to read more from this author. Her craft is absolutely spot on and so engaging. If you enjoy the heartwarming movies on Hallmark that make you swoon and smile and happy sigh, you need to read Behind The Glass.
Generally I prefer to read romance with darker elements and more angst between the characters but Ms. Morgen’s writing is done well, creating scenes you can imagine in your mind and the whole time I was reading I felt like I was there with the characters. Rebecca and Michael were immediately attracted to each other despite the timing being off. Michael is a gentleman, attentive to Rebecca’s needs and wants and Rebecca is the girl next door. I would’ve liked a little more dimension and banter from the characters but it’s well written and definitely a great read. If you like Nicholas Sparks you will like this one! I could imagine watching this on Hallmark 🙂
I stumbled upon Kristen’s profile on IG and later realized she was a published author. Behind the Glass was a true love story. It is extremely well written, nicely developed story and easy to read. I found myself envious of the main character, Rebecca. To have a love story like that is every woman’s dream!
Behind the Glass is a romance novel that will keep you captivated from start to finish! Kristen Morgen has an exceptional way of taking you with her into her story filled with scenic descriptions and picture perfect scenes that make you feel as though you’re a part of the adventure. This novel is full of unexpected surprises as you are taken on a journey and pulled into two lovers’ worlds as they fight against all odds to be together. This book is a must read for those individuals looking to get wrapped up in the fight for true love.
Behind The Glass by Kristen Morgen
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
This story begins as Rebecca visits a coffee house she loves. On her way to her favorite chair, she spots a painting that calls to her. Next thing she knows there is a very appealing man talking to her, admitting to having seen her before. This first scene was full of emotion, and a beautiful fated meeting. The intriguing stranger is Michael, and as drawn as they are to eachother, she is in a relationship and would never cheat, and he would never be the other man. The integrity of both of these characters made my heart melt. As the story unfolds, there is conflict, heart break, healing and true love.
I literally loved everything about this sweet, beautiful, love story. This is one of those stories that adds joy to your day as these characters find a permanent place in your heart. Behind the Glass is the first book that I have read by Kristen Morgen, but it won’t be that last. Huge fan here!! Five shiny stars for this swoon worthy romance.

Wow this was a magical journey of two people’s unrelenting love for each other and the belief love at first sight really can exist. It was beautifully written and was intriguing how instead of rushing in, the story unfolded with details about Rebecca that a reader could really relate themselves to and through that brought Michael and Rebecca Together *Swoon*
Cannot wait to see what other amazing work this author does
Kristen’s debut novel perfectly captures the truth of love…or what we believe love to be. She masterfully paints a picture of Rebecca and Michael, two star-crossed would-be lovers who are separated by Rebecca’s current relationship. Unlike many other stories where the characters throw all caution to the wind, this novel delves into the very complicated situation of falling in love while you’re supposed to be in love with someone else. The slow burn of the relationship further ups the ante and you feel the conflicting emotions of the main characters. Love may be true, but it is rarely wrapped with a neat bow. Hearts get broken, feelings get hurt, and friendships are often irrevocably damaged. Love is a choice and not one without consequences. This book captures all these emotions…and more. A brilliant read.
