“He’s the fantasy I never dared to consider.”
Agreeably Arranged is a wonderfully funny and witty story by Matilda Martel. This author is becoming one of my favorites for short stories that have sizzling chemistry, along with some nice dirty scenes, and an actual story that makes sense.
Castor is a 34, soon to be 35, year old bachelor. He comes from a pedigreed NYC family and has worked in the foreign service for the last 10 years to now be appointed the Ambassador to France. His parents are adamant that he get married over the summer before he leaves for Paris in 6 weeks, or they will disinherit him. This would mean giving up 500mil and who wants to do that after suffering the last 35 years dealing with his parents. Plus they would give his share to his “sycophantic, pill-popping, drunk” brother. So what do good parents do in this circumstance………………name all the worst single women in their social world. But finally they come up with one name – Lola Forsythe. But the hitch is that she is about to become engaged so instead they suggest her older sister Luna, which is funny as they mutually hate each other.
Lola is 20 years old and is resigned to being married to whoever her parents pick for her in the most advantageous match financially. It seems Mr. Forsythe lost most of their money to a Ponzi con artist and they are running on fumes and borrowed money. However, she has loved Castor since she was 9 years old and he saved her from another girl that was bullying her. She has dreamed of him, saved herself for him but knows that he will never look at her as anything other than that little 9 year old girl wearing a stars and stripes swim suit.
Castor and Luna put aside their mutual hate and work together to get him and Lola “arranged” immediately and then married quickly. Castor and Lola are both funny and hot together. Agreeably Arranged is a really great read when you have an hour or two and just want something that will put a smile on your face.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Amazing & beautiful love story with lots of drama.
Loved this book it may have been short but it had loads of love & plenty of drama to match. Lola, the youngest Forsythe daughter is arranged to be married to Orsen & Luna is to be married off to Castor who can’t stand each other, however, Castor admits to Luna that he loves her sister Lola & it is her he loves & wants to marry knowing that her sister feels the same way they come up with a plan but not all the familys are going to take without a fight. It is a fun, romance & sexual chemistry between Lola and Castor are off the charts. The other characters are also likable making this a great read & couldn’t put it down. This is the first book I’ve read of this authors & can’t wait to read the next one.
