Rock & Roll Forever
Books Three and Four
By: Mary J. Williams
Narrated by: Daniela Acitelli
I love this series and can not praise or recommend it enough. Michelle J. Williams is a gifted author, she creates creates interesting storylines that captivates both your attention and your heart from start to end. This set is a two book deal, books three and four of her “Rock & Roll Forever” series, while each book is unique to it’s characters storylines they are both second chance romances or second chance at living again, depending how you look at it. “Almost Everything” is Morgan McCloud’s story, we learn little of him in earlier book and he left just before Razors Edge imploded, some may say it was his running off that initiated the band’s demise but in truth it was a whole lot more. Morgan revealed very little about himself to others, like to stay in the shadows even while on stage. The mystery of him and what makes him tick and where he came from makes this story even more interesting. And what a story he has, he left the band for the girl he fell in love with while in H.S., India Curtis. It was a secret and forbidden relationship, two people from completely different worlds, she is from a wealthy and powerful family and he was raised by a derelict father who could care less about him. Morgan’s saving grace was working for the Reinholds, Marcy and Sven, they were good to him and treated him like their son. India’s future was planned out for her by her greedy father but she planned on rebelling and made future plans with Morgan. But when their relationship is found out everything changes, Morgan is forced to leave and go out on his own which leads him to becoming a successful musician in a successful band. When he hears news of India he leaves to confront her, what he finds out devastates him, makes him a bitter man and sets him on a mission, one of vengeance. Morgan’s story really hit me, my heart went out to him and then India after learning how life turned out for her. I love how everything plays out in their story, it is plotted out nicely with plenty of drama, some angst, twists & turns and a whole lot of heartfelt and emotional moments. The ending and the lead to it made me very happy. And again the storyline that brings the series together, Joplin Ashford trying to fulfill her Uncle Danny’s dying wish of getting the band back together for one more performance. You got to give that girl a lot of credit, Morgan is the 4th person she asked and the 4th to say no. Last but not least is the final member she needs to visit, the one she fell in love with, Kane Harrison. This brings us to the 4th “Almost Home”, Kane’s story. And yes, his is another awesome story. It is great to learn out each member of the band, I thought Morgan had it bad growing up but Kane had it just as bad, he lacked self worthiness and became his own worst enemy living a life of self destruction. He had feelings for Joplin but she was out of his league. When she went to see Kane she saw how much his life changed, he was learning to live a better life. She told him about her Uncle’s dying wish, her Uncle, Danny Graham was Razors Edge’s manager and he agreed to go. Now to get the rest of the members on board, some whom already reunited and/or started talking again. I won’t give much away but I will say I loved her Uncle’s reasoning for the reunion. Well done Uncle Danny, well done Mary J. Williams! Thank you for these amazing books, they are wonderful stories and I loved them and the characters too.
I listened to the Audible edition, Daniela Acitelli is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. She continues to bring these characters to life giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Her portrayal of the characters is spot on, she rocks each role to perfection, you not only hear the characters but she makes you feel what they are feeling. She is a talented storyteller and enhances an already awesome story another level. Thank you for another awesome listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.
Morgan and India’s story is a great one about honor and love. I love all of Mary J. Williams’ books! This is another must-read!
Another great instalment in this awesome series! Well written and filled with twists and turns, Young love, second chances, excitement, joy, heartbreak, hate, I adore India and Morgan and loved this, their story. I laughed, I shed a few tears and cannot wait to read the next book!
Almost Everything is the third book in Mary J. Williams Rock & Roll Forever series. This book is Morgan and India’s story and is a wonderful second chance romance. I love how Mary gives her characters depth and makes them a joy to read about. I always look forward to her next book.
This book is my favorite one of the series. It had everything from new love, lost love, and second chances to revenge and bliss. Morgan and India’s story kept me glued to the story, anxiously waiting to see what happens from one page to the next. I also loved the couple who guided Morgan to become the man he was. Thanks, Mary J Williams for another awesome book! Can’t wait for Kane’s story!
Morgan fell in love with India in high school. India was from the wealthy side of town, and Morgan wasn’t. The people in power in the town (i.e., India’s dad) found out about it and basically had him thrown out of town with broken ribs and other injuries. Morgan changed his name, his hair, his eye color, and everything else he could change in order to keep India safe, or so he thought. Only to find out that she was willingly marrying a man old enough to be her father in order to continue to live a pampered life—or so it looked to Morgan. It turns out there was much more to the story, and it takes years before Morgan gets to hear the rest of the story. Meanwhile, he has become wealthy on his own, and he is making it his mission to destroy the people who destroyed his life and his future with India. Morgan has a lot of anger issues, but he handles them fairly well. He wants revenge, which is often not as satisfying as it is supposed to be. He has planned this carefully, and he plans to succeed.
India is a complex character. She has a variety of motivations, but she finally finds a modicum of freedom in her relationship with Morgan during their time together in high school. The pace is steady throughout this book, and there is an underlying tension regarding whether she and Morgan will ever get to the place where they need to get to in order to move past the hurts they both have experienced in their lives since high school. She has cut off most of her emotions to survive her horrible marriage.
Morgan was a member of the band Razor’s Edge, which found notoriety and stardom for a brief period several years earlier. Then the band imploded, and each member went their separate ways. Joplin was a good friend to Morgan, and when she shows up with an invitation for a one-night reunion concert for Razor’s Edge, Morgan nearly laughs her out of the room. It turns out that Joplin has a friendship with the family that took Morgan in as a teen, and with India.
There are so many interesting things about this story. It can be read as a stand-alone, but is best read in the correct order within the series. It will have more meaning that way and the background will make more sense to the reader. This book is complex and wonderful. There are underlying themes of acceptance, freedom, forgiveness, and familial expectations that are each explored appropriately. This reader is looking forward to the next installment of this series!
The members of Razor’s Edge are very complex and I am enjoying learning about their back stories. Book 3 focuses on Morgan, the band’s illusive keyboard player. Morgan’s present is shaped by his past. I loved Morgan and India’s story and how it played out. This is a second chance love story whose romance never died, but was veiled by hate and desperate measures. While Morgan was plotting his revenge, those closest to him were building a relationship with the life he walked away from. As for the reunion for Razor’s Edge, only time will tell.
Choices. We all have them and we all make them. Sometimes they’re the correct choices and sometimes they’re not. Sometimes it’s an untenable choice, but also, the correct one at the time. Almost Everything, is Morgan and India’s story, and is about the choices that have to be made. Not because they want to, but because they must. Almost Everything is also the story about a small town, young love, honor, revenge, and retribution.
When Morgan is run out of town, all he wants is to get back at the people who failed him. Hooking his song writing talent to friends who eventually make up the band Razor’s Edge, he is now financially able to come back to town, face his past, and try to find answers to some of his most pressing questions. He now has the leverage he’s been waiting for!
India, poor little rich girl, does everything her father tells her to do, up to and including marrying her father’s choice rather than the love of her heart. She loses a part of herself, especially when Morgan tries to talk her out of the arranged marriage. Turning her back on what she wants most in the world, but what she cannot have, is excruciating. But she does her duty.
Questions about the choices made years before are now on the table. Will Morgan’s need to get back at the people who wronged him years ago overwhelm the desire he still feels for India? Can India explain how much she gave up to do her father’s bidding, and allow Morgan to see what has always been in her heart, even when she had to make horrible choices?
This is the 3rd book in the Rock and Roll forever series by Mary J. Williams. It is easily a stand-alone. I love that this book, as the others in this series have done, give you glimpses of what the other Razor’s Edge band members are doing and why their old mentor, as his dying wish, wants them to do one last concert together.
There is one more book in this series and I can’t wait!! You will want to read the whole series. They’re just that good!
I received an arc and the opinions and views are my own. Truly enjoyed Morgan’s story. Love the way the author tells the story going from the present to the past and back to the present. You learn about India and why she made the choices she did. A truly wonderful love story that you wish could continue. Cannot wait for the last book in this series.
Another awesome book!! I don’t love second chance romance, but I have read a few that I enjoyed. This is definitely one of them. Maybe because its part of a series with an ongoing story line intertwined with the main story. Morgan was one of the more mysterious characters in the original story, and I was very happy to finally learn what he was hiding from his past. India was a bit of a surprise. I wasn’t sure I would like her character, and I’m still not loving her, but I understand her and was happy to find that she was more than what showed on the surface. I enjoyed the book and can’t wait to find out if the band decides to reunite in the end!!
Morgan and India’s love story has young love, emotional heartbreak and a forever love. I love the men in this series they are warm hearted, loving and kind. This third book in the “Rock & Roll Forever” series is a winner. Can’t wait for conclusion with Kane’s book.
India and Morgen’s story is another very intense read in this fantastic series.
Their story turns from pure bliss to hell in no time and the reader has to follow this emotional hurricane. I felt the excitement and joy of first love all over again, just as I felt the heartbreak and agony when everything seemed lost… and all the emotions in between…
The characters, both main and side characters, felt very genuin and down to earth, each unique and carefully created, each authentic and relatable as are their trains of thought and their feelings.
The plot is exciting, at times fast-paced, narrated with some flashbacks to explain the why and how, and sometimes so twisted that a happy ending seems forever unreachable ……
I loved this novel and can’t wait to read the next instalment!!!
