Acclaimed film director Millie Sullivan’s newest project is a sure bet to take her from a simple nominee to a full-fledged Oscar winner. The only thing standing in her way is casting the lead part. It’s perfect for her nemesis, Chris Ryan, but the secret Millie carries about the actor and his dog makes him her last choice for the role.Chris Ryan is one of Hollywood’s hottest actors. Between … Between premier roles portraying heroes who save the day while falling in love and Skipper, his steadfast Corgi pal, women everywhere adore him. Well, except for Millie Sullivan, that is. Acting in one of Millie’s films can help Chris break free from being typecast in hunky hero or rom-com darling roles, but first he needs to find out why she hates him so much.
Can Skipper help his human bestie land the role of a lifetime while also helping Millie find the will to forgive them of whatever caused her to harbor a grudge for all these years? Or is teaching these two humans to travel from enemies to lovers a trick too impossible for even the cleverest of corgis?

Dating the Director by Victoria Barbour is the sixth installment in The Celebrity Corgi Romances. Each cute tale can be read on its own, but I like the way they work together (I read them in order). I thought Dating the Director was a lively and romantic tale. Millie and Ryan are delightful protagonists. Millie took a dislike to Chris many years ago, but she sees something new when they meet again. When they begin working on a film together, it gives them a chance to get to know one another. Let us not forget the cute Corgi named Skipper. I like that Chris and Millie are realistic characters with insecurities which causes a few hiccups along the way. I was happy that Ruby was back in this story. She makes flattering clothes for curvier women. The author’s descriptive writing brought the scenes and characters alive. I loved the descriptions of Newfoundland and the adorable home that Millie borrowed from Chris. There is engaging humor sprinkled throughout the story and the ending left me smiling. Dating the Director is a sweet and clean romantic story with a cute Corgi named Skipper, a caring mother who would love grandchildren, a talented fashion designer, a charming actor who would like to get closer to his new director.
Dating the Director is book 6 in The Celebrity Corgi Romance series. I am really enjoying these standalone stories each featuring a lovable Corgi. Skipper is the star of this story! Chris Ryan, a movie star, and Millie Sullivan, a renowned director are at odds over comments made 20 years ago. Chris doesn’t remember but Millie can’t forget. Millie chooses Chris as her leading man because he really was the best but now they really do need to work together. Skipper is a big help in that. They come to respect each other and to forgive for careless remarks made long ago. Beautiful descriptions of Newfoundland complete this wonderful story.
A wonderfully sweet romance. One of the series that stars corgis and their owners. The female lead character in this story and the other five in the series are larger sized women in the top of their fields. Millie, the film director has had issues with her field not only because of her size but also because she is female. When she shares the stage with a man she has disliked for years unbeknownst to him she cant seem to stop talking.
It’s a great romance and worth reading.
Great story with very likable characters
While of course there were issues as with most stories, this one captured me more and more as it progressed.
The reason of “dislike” at the beginning, the hurt feelings on both sides working together, learning from each other. Filming in Chris’s hometown with some history lessons involved. The reversed proposal, Millie getting the flu, their ring bearer – Skipper. The gowns by Ruby for the engagement party, a wedding and the Oscars. Where Millie won not only 1 but 8 Oscars for the amazing movie, as well as Chris winning Best Actor. Who couldn’t have done half as much without his assistant/niece, Kelly, his loving mom Mary & even this sister Ann.
Any book that has furbabies as a character is a plus in my eyes. Pets have a way of helping to heal hearts and to bring people closer together. To land the role of his life Chris must first find out what Millie the director has against him and why she doesnt want to hire him. Skipper, Chris’s corgi, will have his paws full trying to get these two together and get his human the role of a lifetime.

Millie and Chris.
For so long he knew and was told that Millie doesn’t like him, but he doesn’t have clue, why?
Then during an interview he learns the truth….
Millie is directing a movie and one of the actors for the part is Chris.
What happen if both of them figure it out, that part was written for him and they have to spend a lot of time rogether.
Story is wonderful, sweet.
Can handsome actor Chris Ryan make director Millie Sullivan see that sees is beautiful inside and outside? She isn’t been avoiding him for sixteen years. He is been looking for his chance to prove his value as an actor and no time just as a handsome face. Working together they will find love and happiness. A sweet story.
Dating the Director was the sixth book on the Corgi Series. This was a new author for me, and I found the book to be well written. I have enjoyed these good clean storylines, animals in a book tend to draw me into the book. Can Millicent and Chris overcome years of dislike over something that happened so many years ago. I would recommend this book to others.
This is another book in the Celebrity Corgi Romance series. It is a beautiful, romantic love story between Chris Ryan, a dramatic actor and Millicent Sullivan, a director. I liked their insecurities and the bumps they ran into that tried to steer their relationship off course. Who knew that a sweet corgi named Skipper was the catalyst for their relationship as director and leading man.
I also enjoyed that Ruby, from the first book in the series returned in this book too. It was like seeing an old friend.
The best part of this book was that the author painted with her words a clear picture in my mind of the characters and where they were and how they were feeling. It was breathtaking and very romantic. I have not read any books by Victoria Barbour before but I am going to see what else she has written. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
How would you like to be held accountable for something you said when you were 22? Millicent has avoided/disliked/refused to work with Chris because of something she overheard him say sixteen years before. Chris is just glad to final know why Millie dislikes him. Victoria Barbour gave the characters real depth and feelings that can be hurt and misunderstood. This was a totally enjoyable book.
Dating the Director just might be my favorite of these Corgi romances. This story was so emotional and intense. Millie, Chris and Skipper all earn rave reviews from this reader. I was drawn into the story from the first chapter and hated reaching the end. Even the scenery felt like a character in this book. If you enjoy clean romances with forgiveness and a clever corgi, do not miss this book.
Wonderful book. One that drew you in that you were there with them.
This is a good clean story that is well written. You will fall in love with the darling corgi named Skipper! I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is a very good clean book. Interesting story line. Recommend reading.
I received an ebook and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is another wonderful entry into this series of standalone reads. Chris and Millie’s book is quite emotional and dramatic. I loved both these characters and I thought that Skipper, the corgi was just too cute! The level of tension and emotional turmoil in this story captures and keeps your attention as past hurts and grudges are revealed. Millie was such a wonderful character and my heart just ached for her. She was easy to connect with emotionally because I could really imagine how I would feel in her place and that made her pain very understandable and relatable. Talented, famous and sweet, she felt like someone I would love to be friends with. Chris was also simply terrific and I also felt so bad for him. Sometimes, you just can’t win and I felt that pretty much summed up his case where Millie was concerned. A charming blend of genuine good guy and cluelessness left him in the unenviable position of being firmly behind the eight ball, where Millie was concerned. The story is funny, sweet, emotional and romantic. This book and this whole series are really just delightful.
