From USA Today Bestseller, Ann Major, comes book 4, a new sexy, reunited lovers romance in her Lone Star Dynasty Series. There’s no way I’ll go back to East Lewis, my husband of thirty years. Ever. That’s what I tell myself when I return from Texas to New York after a six-month separation. He can keep his irresistible charm, his sexiness, and his fame. I don’t care if I feel comforted in his arms … feel comforted in his arms or if I crave him even though I despise myself for the things I ask him to do.
When he betrayed me, I made the mistake of staying with him in this marriage of convenience far too long.
I’m not stupid enough to give him another chance. I’m not.
That’s easier said than done when a family crisis occurs, a younger woman starts chasing him, and nightmarish flashbacks cause my world to fall apart.
I don’t know what’s real or fake, or if I’m terrible person. Will East even want me when he knows who I really am and what I’ve done? Can I forgive myself and East and trust in love and forgiveness to wash the sins of our pasts away?

A truly emotional second chance at life and romance.
I have to be honest, I wasn’t feeling much sympathy for Audrey and yet, she ended up being one of my favorite characters by the time I finished this book. She had just been so cold and somewhat cruel for so long that I had a hard time feeling anything for her except disdain. But I couldn’t ignore the simple fact that East truly loved her and I just couldn’t picture him loving someone without a reason. And we finally discover why Audrey is wound so tight. And why East loves her so much.
This is the fourth book in the Lone Star Dynasty series and can not be read alone as each story is interwoven with the next. But this series is so good its worth it!
I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! This story was very intense & emotional! This is Audrey’s side of her marriage to East & her issues. East had cheated on her the night before their marriage with his former love. After Hannah their daughter was born, East found out he had another daughter from that one night & asked Audrey to help raise her. For years, Audrey punished both East & his daughter, Nell by being cold, standoffish & withholding love. After Audrey blurted out the truth to Nell during an argument, East decided he’d had enough. He still loved her but couldn’t live like this any longer. Could he help her to realize she needed help?
This story was about Audrey & her emotional issues more than anything. The writer started with flashes of memories coming back to Audrey. The inner turmoil & the pain of her trying to maintain a calm public face drew me into the story more than I expected. From the other stories & the beginning of this one, I really disliked Audrey’s character. As she began to fall apart & remember her past, my sympathies were aroused & I became invested in the story. Once I got into the story, I couldn’t put it down.
This book was the 4th in the “Lone Star Dynasty” series and the author continues with a well written storyline, a plot that flowed smoothly from page to page and characters that were written with such great detail and depth that I was totally engaged throughout the entire book!
This is the fourth book in the Lone Star Dynasty series. The author does a fantastic job building the story with all the drama, betrayal and trauma. She draws you in with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. Her characters are strong and well developed and the story flows fluidly. It’s an intense second chance romance showing the support and love between the characters and is a true page turner right to the end. I loved and would highly recommend this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A very intense tale. Audrey had demons to face and ultimately overcome. There were a number of revelations about herself and her family. East stayed with Audrey through thick and thin. Audrey began to make amends for previous wrongs.
The subject matter in this book was difficult. It did bother me that Easy and Audrey seemed to find their HEA after only TWO visits with a therapist, none which included East.
There was nothing more about what happened to Audrey’s sister or her parents. I thought we might get an epilogue.
For the most part, I found the book to be intriguing. I did get tired of Audrey running hot and cold, but that was explained and expected. It just seemed to me that after all of the buildup, I did not expect the ending to feel so rushed.
It seems like there is still one secret to resolve regarding Nell. Maybe in a future book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I have been waiting for this story and knew it would be a deep one. Audrey seemed so aloof and cold that it was inevitable she had faced some serious trauma. There were some hints in the previous books. There might be triggers for some, this subject is a difficult one but is handled well by Ann. This is a tale of support, second chances and family…and ultimately love.
Love with an Imperfect Bride is the fourth book in Ann Major’s Lone Star Dynasty series. While I read the prequel to this story: Love with an Imperfect Bridegroom, I was left with many unanswered questions. WOW! Was I surprised with this book. It was riveting. A definite page turner that I couldn’t put down.
Easton Lewis cheated on his wife, Audrey, the night before their wedding. That one night had consequences they were still dealing with. As the story unfolds, Audrey has flashbacks to a time that, unbeknownst to her, shaped her life. She is facing divorce from Easton and her father, who is a senator, is charged with unforgivable crimes.
As more unfolds about the charges against her father, Audrey’s flashbacks intensify. Will she remember what happened to her as a child? Will she and Easton overcome his indiscretion and find their happily ever after?
I wasn’t sure about this book but I am so happy I decided to read it. I highly recommend it but I also suggest reading the prequel first. I’d like to disclose I received an advance copy of Love with an Imperfect Bride. This is my true and honest review!
East Lewis left his wife of 30 years. He’s done with her coldness and indifference. Audrey can’t forgive him for his betrayal. He slept with his lost love the night before their wedding and then asked Audrey to raise his illegitimate daughter along with their own child. She hates him or does she? Audrey is plagued with dreams and visions. What do they mean? Why do they fill her with dread? I love that East was always there for her even though they weren’t together. She needed to face her past and get help. Her fear and vulnerability were heartbreaking. I was glad that I finally understood what drove Audrey. When a family secret is revealed, she is torn between her love for East and the devastating truth. I wanted her to choose wisely and take control of her life. Ann Major shocked me with this story. I was angry at what happened. I really wanted the truth revealed and to know that the guilty paid for their crimes.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
i would highly recommend it, i can’t even put the book once i start reading it and i read back from book 1-4 definitely ms ann major did it again 5stars
After 30 horribly restricted years of marriage, East decides to call it quits. Audrey doesn’t really want him to go but something is holding her back and flashes of memories/dreams might be the key.
East has to break through enough to get her to go to someone to help break the wall down.
Was a very heart wrenching story, definitely not an easy read but still pretty good.
