Welcome to Diablo Falls, the town where anything can happen. Built on magic by an ancient coven, it draws all sorts to its quaint streets—shifters, vampires, fae, and more, including a baby witch who has no idea what she is or what she’s capable of… Falls, a place her grandmother once lived and she remembers visiting as a child. But car trouble and a freak snowstorm leave her stranded and exposed in the wilderness with no way to contact help.
Vampire and Diablo Falls resident tarot reader Malcolm Orloff knows when his cards give him a sign, he has to act. They send him into the woods during a freak weather event when the temperatures skyrocket, threatening to melt the snow and cause massive flooding and landslides. When he finds Ebony, he immediately realizes she is the source of the magically warm-up but she’s complete unaware of her powers or that she’s causing it.
Ebony is reluctant to believe his claim that she’s a witch, but after finally observing her powers and seeking help from one of the town’s resident witches, she is forced to not only accept her true birthright but also her growing attraction to the vampire who saved her life.

This was a cute story.

It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is an entertaining, quick-read paranormal witch/vampire romance. The two main characters (Ebony Case, who apparently is a witch) & (Malcolm Orloff, a vampire & psychic), are interesting & well-developed with realistic emotional feelings & reactions. The plot is well-written, intriguing & entertaining.
There is: fae, vampires, shifters, witches, some twists, intrigue, drama, magic, deceit, betrayal, emotional turmoil, memories, confusion, vulnerability, attractions, promises, love and a sweet HEA.
When Ebony catches her boyfriend cheating on her she heads to Diablo Falls a place she remembers spending time with her grandmother as a child. Malcolm is a vampire and the local tarot reader of Diablo Falls. This is a quick read and I like the premise of the story, the characters and how they were drawn to each other. This is my first book by this author and I will read more in the future.
This was a delightful story to read. I like stories where different beings all get alone. In this story you are introduce to all types, fae, trolls, vampires, witches, shifters, and more. They all worked and played together without anyone getting hurt.
Ebony was in a relationship with what she thought was her soulmate, at least until she walked into their bedroom and caught him with a 20 year old student of his. She ran. She didn’t know what she wanted to do so she decided to go to Diablo Falls where her grandmother told her so many stories about. She knew that electronic things went wonky around there, probably because of so many magic lea lines. But her car hadn’t made it to town when it just died. So she got out and started walking through the woods. While she was walking first there was rain, then snow and the temperatures started to drop. She found a cave to get in to get out of the weather. She started to think about things that got her angry and wanted to get warm and dry and the temperatures starting to rise. When they were in the 70’s, she was able to not freeze and kept walking down the mountain. She met a very good looking man along the way who just so happened to be looking for her.
Malcolm was a 76 year old vampire. He read tarot cards and drank bagged blood, to everyone’s delight. He had a bit of psychic abilities and when he felt that he was needed and it was very urgent, he locked up shop and went looking, along with the search and rescue shifters. With the weather being too warm for the time of year, it could melt the snow on the mountains and cause flooding and mudslides. When he found Ebony, he knew she was a witch, and a very powerful witch to control the weather like this. The bad side was that she didn’t even believe that she was a witch, let alone for being responsible for the weather and the danger it will be causing soon. He took her around to convince her and introducing her to some of the variety of people in town.
For such a short read it definitely got right to the point. I mean it’s a good read good premise but it was all over the place. The story is supposed to be center around Ebony, who doesn’t realize that she a powerful witch. I would’ve like a little bit more information on Ebony ‘s family. Also things felt kinda rush like things needed to be expanded. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
That was delightful! Fast moving and a quick read! Perfect for a lunch hour or a couple hours in the park! The story line moves fast and connects on a personal level if you’ve ever been jilted! The story is all about the shock, getting lost, rethinking the whole thing and then finding the strength to move on…something we all do at one point or another. I would enjoy reading more about Ebony and Malcolm and the town of Diablo Falls. It’d be great if there were more stories about the town and it’s residents and Ebony learning about her powers.
Thank you for the ARC version of this story and opportunity to review it!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Good premise but all over the place
This story is supposed to center around Ebony, who doesn’t realize she’s a witch and Malcolm, a vampire. There’s a good basis for a story her but it’s all over the place. Moving from one side character to another. Probably with details that aren’t necessary to the main storyline. It just felt disjointed, no real POV coming through. Kind of felt like notes or an outline to the story. The cover model didn’t match the character description and that was kind of a let down. Along with the title not feeling like it fit.
