Q & A with the Author
Q – How would you describe the Galactic Gladiators and House of Rone series?
A – Gladiators in space! The desert planet of Carthago is home to the Kor Magna Arena: it’s a mix of low and high tech. Think the Colosseum of Ancient Rome with a touch of professional sports and a side of Las Vegas glitz and temptation. You’ll see a lot of action-packed romance as women abducted from Earth clash with tough cyborg gladiators fighting for love, loyalty, and freedom.
Q – Why did you want to write the series?
A – It’s no secret that I love action, adventure and romance. And I love science fiction romance and all the endless possibilities. The House of Rone series is a spin-off of my bestselling Galactic Gladiators series. We see glimpses of the House of Rone cyborgs in the first series (Imperator Magnus Rone’s story, Cyborg, is a part of the first series). These emotionless but loyal cyborgs intrigued me and I wanted to know more!
Q – Do I need to read Galactic Gladiators to read House of Rone?
A – All the Galactic Gladiators books are stand-alone romances set on Carthago and focus on the rescue of people abducted from Earth. We also see so much of the planet, from the Kor Magna Arena and the vast desert sands.
You don’t have to have read the Galactic Gladiators books in order to enjoy House of Rone, but characters from the first series do make a lot of apperances in
Q – What order do I need to read the House of Rone books?
A – The first book is Sentinel. Each book has a stand-alone romance, although there is an overarching plot across the series.
Here is the reading order:
Sentinel
Defender – coming soon
More cyborg gladiators on the way!
The Galactic Gladiators Science Fiction Romance Series: Science Fiction Romance, Action Adventure Romance, Space Opera, Futuristic Romance, Fantasy Romance, Military Romance and Paranormal Romance

Sentinel is book one in the Galactic Gladiators; House of Rone series by Anna Hackett.
This new series is in the same world as her Galactic Gladiators. Here we get to dive into the House of Rone; which is the home of the Cyborgs. They have been an active member with the House of Galen in locating the human’s captured and enslaved
I loved the House of Galen and was, so excited to meet the Cyborgs and get their stories. These are the men who are more machine than human.
Jaxer is one of the few Cyborgs who freely admits that he is more in touch with his emotions than most Cyborgs, yet he has no idea how much a human female can change his world.
Quinn is determined to escape her captors and find the others who were captured with her. She’s tough and determined.
This is another fast-paced standalone romance that was so much fun to read. Quinn was a delight and one of the authors more formidable females. She doesn’t know when to quit and she proves this time and time again. Jaxer and Quinn were perfect. They are such a kick-ass couple.
Jaxer and all the other Cyborgs were fun. I liked getting to meet the Cyborgs in the House of Rone. They each have unique abilities that make the action scenes that much more outstanding. The world Hackett has created just keeps expanding.
Sentinel was another fun, sexy, and all-around fabulous read. If you are looking for a Science Fiction Romance series to try then I highly recommend this spin-off series.
Rated: 4 Stars
This is the first story in a GREAT cyborg romance series. The cyborgs are gladiators which meshes two favorite niches. And it is an Anna Hackett story. She’s an auto buy writer for me.
I loved Quinn and Jax. They both are a bit broken. To heal they search for the missing women from Earth and find love does conquer all.
Excellent start to the new Galactic Gladiators: House of Rone series. I enjoy reading as the tough cyborg gladiators rescue, and fall in love with , the human women they save. And watch as those same woman become strong and overcome their abduction…and fall in love.
This is Jax and Quinn’s story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series
Great!
Furious action and hot romance
It’s the Anna Hackett one-two punch. Jaxxer Rone is the cyborg Second of the House of Rone. He’s loyal to his Imperator Magnus, to his fellow cyborgs, and to their mission of safe haven for cyborgs and aid to those who can benefit from cybernetic tech. He doesn’t love. Not until fate puts beautiful, deadly Quinn Bennett in his sights. She’s a human survivor of the Thraxian slavers and the Edull trader who purchased her. When Jax fights to free her and succeeds, she returns the favor by fighting for him – and he’s smitten. While they hunt the Edull, and search for other enslaved humans, she’s hunting Jax! Our heroine knows what she wants, and its doesn’t take long until Jax knows he’s been captured. Lots of action, danger and Indiana Jones -style adventure, plus a love story to melt your e-reader – 5 stars.
Such an addictive story! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I am hooked! The plot itself is excellently paced and set up, but then you add in these characters that tug at your feelings, pull you into their own narratives and just breathe life and excitement into an already compelling story, and you end up with this unforgettable and unputdownable masterpiece. I loved this one and can’t wait to read more in this series!
Quinn is enslaved to the Edull. It isn’t in her to just accept her situation. Jaxer finds Quinn and rescues her. The heat between the two is great. I loved how they used the term “liquid” to show pleasure. This author always delivers a great story.
I love Quinn and Jaxer! They are a great couple. I loved the dialogue and the chemistry between them. The story was thrilling. Just wish the book would have been longer. I recommend this series and author
L
Quinn and Jax are two peas in a pod. They just don’t know it yet.
These two are meant for each other and how they get to together is great reading.
I Highly Recommend it!
“I’d swim through molten metal to come for you.”
Cyborg Jaxer Rone is determined to find the enslaved humans and rescue them. When he rescues the fierce and deadly Quinn he starts to understand what emotions can do to a man.
This series is connected to the Galactic Gladiator series but features the cyborgs of the House of Rone. I highly recommend reading the previous series to understand everything that has happened to these humans and gladiators but it isn’t necessary. This book was a great start for the series and it introduced us to the House of Rone cyborgs. The cyborgs are fascinating and so unique so I am really glad we are getting their stories.
Jaxer is one of the few cyborgs who still has his emotions but he can dampen them when necessary. He also tries to help his fellow cyborgs understand emotion. Jax was a great hero because he was protective of Quinn but still let her fight her own battles. I love a hero who can appreciate a woman’s strength and fight her own battles. These two make a great team and you know they will stop at nothing to save the rest of the enslaved humans.
Quinn Bennett struggles with guilt because she wasn’t able to protect the people on the Helios. When she is rescued it gets worse because she knows they still suffer. Jax helps her work through her guilt and realize there was nothing she could do. Her determination to save her crew is admirable and I really like that about her.
This book was a fast-paced action romance that I couldn’t put down. This world is fascinating and the characters are all amazing. I highly recommend this series, or any of Hackett’s books, if you are looking for fast paced action romances.
This book brings us back to the Galactic Gladiators, but now the focus is on the House of Rone and the cyborgs. Jax Is 2nd in command to Magnus and feels emotions more than the other cyborgs. He takes a lot onto himself trying to help Magnus and trying to find the rest of the people from Earth that were kidnapped and sold into slavery.
I recommend reading the novella in Hunter before reading this one. It’s a really good lead in to this book and shows how Jax finds out there are other survivors from Earth that need rescuing. In his search, he finds Quinn who was the security chief of an Earth exploration ship that was attacked. She feels very guilty for not protecting her people in the attack and is determined to get free and save the others that were taken.
There’s lots of action and romance in this book while Jax and Quinn try to find Jayna, one of the other survivors from the exploration ship that Quinn knows was kidnapped too. I did find that it seemed a little unrealistic on how quickly she bounced back into shape and able to keep fighting even after she should have been seriously injured. But at the same time, it kept the action in the story moving along nicely.
If you loved the previous Galactic Gladiator books and love action with your romance books, then you will love this book too. The ending of the book also gives a clue on which cyborgs book will be next and I can’t wait to read that one too.
I was given an ARC of this book, but am voluntarily giving my honest review.
Good story, it has a good storyline. There is action and the interaction and chemistry between Quinn and Jaxar was wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
DISCLOSURE; Strictly on a volunteer basis, I reviewed a pre-release copy via the author.
An exciting romantic tale that stirs your interest to keep turning pages to learn what happens next. Inside; ghastly beasts, notorious aliens, gladiator heroes, deadly danger, true friendships, humor, breathtaking scene descriptions, suspense, spine-chilling action, praise-worthy plot, and heavenly sensuous romance.
Quinn Bennett was the Security Chief on the ship Helios when evil aliens kidnapped the women aboard. She was sold into nightmarish slavery without hope of escaping her fate. The House of Rone comes to her rescue; Jaxer leading the mission to find enslaved humans. Jaxer is second to his leader Magnus, Imperator of the House of Rone. As a cyborg Jaxer has enhanced strength abilities. Most cyborgs have dampeners to not show emotion, but Jaxer’s have never been quite right. Meeting Quinn ignites a storm of fiery desires he has never felt before. As an honorable gladiator doing his job to find more enslaved humans, he puts his feelings aside. Quinn’s effortless use of the staff, athleticism, and boldness make her a force to be reckoned with in a fight. Being a woman with a strong will she has two missions; help find the women taken from the Helios and make Jaxer hers.
Fantastic creative entertaining read. The banter between Quinn and Jaxer is terrific; their chemistry shines. Jaxer learns quite a few things from the feisty Quinn. Jaxer has a tough exterior, but his sweet side melted my heart. I loved Quinn’s determination and strength. The new characters introduced into this gladiator world are awesome. I am looking forward to reading the next story from the House of Rone.
To the rescue of another human woman! Feeling guilty but having not lost hope, Quinn Bennett was waiting for her time to fight back. Cyborg Jaxer Rone knew about helping the weak and loyalty and with his not so tampered emotions alive, he was going to look for her even at risk of his life. An imposing, impressive and good to look at cyborg from the House of Rone and the fearless Helios security chief, together. What a pair! Lot of action, adventure, suspense, strength and courage. Enjoyed the exciting scenes, the intriguing cyborgs characters and the mystery around the kidnappings. I liked this book and left me with a close eye on Acton.
Four and a half
It’s fabulous to return to the Gladiators of Carthago but this time there’s a difference. No longer are we following the House of Galen but instead we get to meet the Cyborgs behind the House of Rone. Jaxer is the Cyborg who features here and he is one who freely admits that he is more in touch with his emotions than most of his Cyborg brothers but nevertheless he has no idea just how much a human female can change his world.
Quinn will never get used to being a slave and is determined to escape and find the others who were captured with her. She’s tough and determined and when a chance to flee shows up she grabs it but with strange robotic creatures roaming about Quinn could use some help. Luckily Jax has tracked her down but she’s injured and when she wakes up trust me those big, bad Cyborgs are about to get a shock !
This is yet another fast paced, standalone romance that is just so easy to read. I loved Quinn as she’s definitely one of this authors more formidable females. She just doesn’t know how to quit and proves time and time again that to underestimate her is just crazy. Jax and the other Cyborgs were such fun to read about as they each have unique abilities that really made any action scenes come gloriously to life. I very much enjoyed reading about Jax as he never felt like a machine although funnily enough his perplexed manner and confusion around Quinn at times just added so much humour although for this reader it was the action scenes that I enjoyed the most. I’m very happy that the author has been inspired to bring the Cyborgs of Carthago to life and sincerely look forward to reading more.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
So much edge-of-your-seat excitement!
I love the dynamic I see between Jaxer and Quinn! Jax lives to serve. His main goal is to help Marcus. He doesn’t put his own desires first. Quinn is relentless. Whether her goal is escaping slavery, or rescuing her teammates, or capturing her cyborg’s heart, she never gives up! LOL! Who could resist? Not Jax!! Together, they set out on a whirlwind of adventure and romance.
As for what I hope might come next in this fascinating world, all I can say is, “the bigger they come, the harder they fall.”
Jaxer may be a Cyborg but he does have feelings, they’re just a bit…rusty! He does feel intense gratitude towards Magnus. He saved him from being tossed onto the scrapheap and disassembled.
Quinn is the former Chief of Security from the Helios. She feels unsurmountable levels of grief and self-recrimination that she could not save her crew. She knows that some of them made it to Carthago but after escaping from her new “masters” one too many times, she has been sold to an odious little Edull. But when the time comes she is going to escape and take along her timid fellow slave.
She did not reckon on a tall, intimidating cyborg crashing into her life and saving her. Neither did she realise that she would soon be caught up in the search for her remaining crew members. But can she mix her rescue operation with an intense burning desire for a certain sexy cyborg!
Jaxer and Quinn are an imposing duo. Both strong, independent and take on more than their fair share of work and grief. I loved that all that metal hid a heart of mush. Quinn is also emotionally fragile after her capture but doesn’t let Jaxer get away with treating her like a fragile object.
I can’t wait to see how Macon copes with his mew charge!
This can be read as a stand-alone, but it is even more fun when the stories are read in order. This story launches a new major story arc, but as always with Anna’s stories, each one features a different couple. Despite how many books have come along in the series so far, each one is as exciting and fresh as the first. Packed with action, suspense, humor, twists, survival, strength (not just physical), aliens, high and low tech, and romance.
