Guardian, The Choice follows two teens, Samantha and Jake as they are attacked by demons. During the attack their parents, Samantha’s Dad and Jake’s Mother are injured putting them in the hospital with their lives hanging in the balance.
Samantha and Jake have been having the same dreams night after night. A woman Rose gives Samantha a staff called WhipEye. Samantha is magically drawn to the staff. Samantha and Jake are both bonded to the staff. This staff came from another world known as KiraKu.
Guardian, The Choice takes Samantha and Jake on a journey fighting different kinds of creatures, some are evil and some are good but knowing which is which can be hard to comprehend at times. They have to fight good and evil. There is love and betrayal throughout the book with lots of action, fighting and twists and turns to keep you glued to the story from beginning to end.
The world building is awesome and so vivid that you can just see each scene playing out in your head as if you are right there following Samantha and Jake through the Amazon jungle. It was so much fun just trying to picture each and every one of the creatures or demons. It takes some imagination to picture dragons and snakes that huge.
Samantha and Jake have quite a few choices to make if they are going to save the humans, the world and their parents. Will they make the right choices? Can they save the world and their parents?
I highly recommend Guardian, The Choice to all fans fantasy and magical beast.
As a fan of Riordan, Guardian, The Choice: An Urban Fantasy Thriller (Magical Beasts Book 1), caught my attention and did not disappoint.
This is one example of where you CAN judge a book by its cover.
Quality read and one I would definitely recommend for a classroom bookshelf to encourage today’s youth to read.
What a story! This story is packed full of action, adventure, suspense, and mystery from the beginning to the end. Sam is ever loving of so much throughout the story. She is strong in her convictions and even if she feels unworthy she still tries to persevere. Jake is sweet and at times headstrong but is loving, caring and protective all the same. I loved the moments of laughter that had me laughing out loud. There are an amazing group of support characters that add that special element to the story. The storyline is original and gripping. It draws you in and you just can’t put it down until you reach the end. It is extremely well written and has a beautiful flow to it. This is a clean story that is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.
