“I’m going to go back to the kitchen and finish dinner, and when I come back you’re going to show me what else you can do.”“Why?”“Because I want you to,” she said, her eyebrow raising at the challenge as she looked back at me over her shoulder.“Do you always get what you want?” I stayed where I was; it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I wanted to get up and put that perky little a– of hers on the … little a– of hers on the piano and lick every inch of her smooth, pale skin. I wanted her to forget about dinner and erase those two small steps, then take two more and sit down on my lap. Wrap her legs around my waist and let me—
“Most of the time,” she said, and sauntered away.
“I bet you do,” I muttered, and started picking out a melody on the guitar…
Benji Dade has always been as close to fearless as 5’0 nothing can get–at least until recently. She’s tired of her job at the bar, but hanging on to one last shift so she can enjoy a live show from her all-time favorite band. Unfortunately, as soon as she meets them, all her admiration disappears… But the drummer surprises her. And then surprises her again, and again. She doesn’t think much of romance and even less of men, but there’s something about this guy…
Leo Millon started a band with his best friend while they were still in high school, but due to his crippling shyness–the result of a brutal, incurable stutter–their partnership devolved into a dysfunctional disaster and the music followed suit. Leo takes one look at the hot bar-tender and falls in love as soon as she turns the famous lead singer down–in the most foul-mouthed way possible–but it never crosses his mind to actually speak to her… Until he feels he has no choice.
Can these two find a way to show how they really feel? Maybe a couple rounds of The Kissing Game will help them out…
Another short, sexy romance from Kendall Duke featuring wounded alphas falling head over heels in instalove with sassy virginal heroines that can’t help but speak their minds. Please enjoy the latest installment of the Innocent Series, full of HEAs, hope and lots of heat.

She had walls around her walls
I really loved this story about Benji (Benjamina) and Leo (Leonidas). The Kissing Game is filled with all sorts of deep emotions, both the good and bad type, sadness, love, romance, expectation, defeat, and a lot of others. The characters of Benji and Leo are both well developed and thoroughly likeable and the secondary characters, what there are of them, you just want to hit up side the head, or maybe square on the jaw.
She is a 22 year old student getting her nursing degree working as a bartender to put herself through school and bring money in for the family. She is barely 5 feet tall and maybe 110 soaking wet but she is more than a little feisty, smart, quick witted, sharp tongued but with a depth to her soul.
Leo is the drummer of Groovebone (don’t even ask about the band name), but a talented musician who can play multiple instruments and writes the band’s songs. The band was started by himself and Tony, the lead singer, when they were in high school and now they had several records and were a number of hits. Leo has a real depth to his soul but hides himself from everyone, which is easy for him as he is very large and imposing which keeps people away from him. However,. he has a true depth to his soul, a poet’s soul, and feels shy and uncertain about other people because of being orphaned when he was 12 years old and then going into foster care. Add to that he has a stutter which meant that other kids made fun of him.
Benji and Leo have an immediate draw towards each other but each has their own walls erected high. Some things happen which causes them both to see the other in a new light which makes the chemistry between them start to bubble up. Over the course of a long night and into the next day the chemistry starts throwing sparks until it boils over and the walls come down, or at least are breached.

Absolutely fantastic! This book is emotionally deep, well written, consistent, and realistic. I experienced a range of emotions when reading it – anger, disgust, sadness, love. The characters Benji and Leo are strong and endearing and I love them together. This story will definitely pull on your heart strings and leave you wanting more. Definitely recommended!
