Oh boy! It started with one little lie. But Jane Hardy will do everything in her power to uncover the truth in this yes… gripping new romantic suspense that kept me guessing and wondering and telling these interesting characters to just say it! I’m wanting to read more of this authors stories!
Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe was a wonderful inspirational romantic suspense story.
After biologist Sassa Nilsson witnesses her friend and mentor being murdered by environmental extremists she realizes that she is only one that can possibly stop them from unleashing a deadly pathogen that will destroy food crops, but in doing so puts her life is in danger and they will stop at nothing to kill her including targeting the people she cares about the most.
Jared De Luca’s job is to protect Sassa and her daughter while she works to find a way to protect crops from a deadly virus, but what he doesn’t plan on is falling in love with both of them and wanting nothing more than to find a way to spend the rest of his life with them.
I loved this story and looking forward to reading more books by this wonderful author!
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe is a Love Inspired Suspense novel. Biologist Sassa Nilsson must either find the formula that her mentor was murdered for, or recreate it herself. The Black Knights, an environmental extremists’ group, will stop at nothing to get the formula. Border patrol agent Jared De Luca is on the task force that is protecting Sassa as she works. I loved the bond that Jared developed with Sassa’s baby. The suspense was intense. You never knew what was coming next. I would highly recommend this book.
I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.
What I think you should know:
Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe is a contemporary suspense from Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense. Bioterrorist are seeking a formula that has the ability to wipe out plant life, and nothing will stop them from getting it.
What I think about this book:
If you are not already a Tanya Stowe fan, this would be a great place to start! Stowe has delivered another action packed suspense. This is a great book with enough action and mystery that kept me turning the page, but not some much that I had to sleep with a baseball bat. I loved that the plot involved bioterrorism, I didn’t feel like I had read the story 100 times. Sassa, described as Sassy Sassa is the perfect heroine, she is strong, smart, determined and compassionate. Jared was a great lead, he was strong and willing to change. I enjoyed this book so much and can’t wait to read more from Stowe.
I received a complimentary copy for this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
When I first started reading this I felt I was reading the newspaper instead of a fiction book. Tanya Stowe. This story pulled me in from the beginning. Sassa knew something wasn’t right as soon as she got off the plane with her mentor Sam. And from there, the story takes off in a fast pace that will have you on the edge of your seats. Ms. Stowe created characters that were so well developed throughout the story, I started thinking of them as real people. And I really wanted to pray for Sassa so many times.
Both Jared and Sassa has a checkered past, and it was interesting to see the interaction between them. And especially since Sassa’s faith was so strong and Jared no longer trusted God. And I love the want the men were with baby Keri. Sam had called her Precious Keri, and Jared was adorable with her. Baby Keri has a special part of the story, which made it have a sweet side.
As with most suspense, there is so much more to this story. It way be a small book, but it is packed full of drama and suspense. If you enjoy this genre, I highly recommend this one for you to read. It will give you a few hours of total enjoyment.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
Killer Harvest hits the ground running when heroine Sassa Nilsson witnesses the unexpected murder of her friend and boss. Border Patrol agent Jared De Luca has been working with Sassa’s boss to help bring down an environmentalist terrorist group and is determined to protect Sassa and her baby daughter at all costs while she works tirelessly to reproduce the crop virus developed in the university lab and prevent it from getting into the wrong hands.
As Sassa is relentlessly pursued by members of the terrorist organization, sparks also ignite between her and Jared who also develops a surprising bond with her daughter. Both of them have some trust issues, both with other people and especially with God but their circumstances demand that they learn to trust each other and depend on the Lord’s help in their desperate and dangerous situation.
A riveting narrative, Killer Harvest held my interest until its end with interesting, life-like characters and a well-developed plot. I enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more by Tanya Stowe.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Celebrate Lit. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
I love a book with a strong and intelligent heroine who knows her mind. In Killer Harvest, Sassa Nilsson is just that. Even though someone is after her, she is fiercely protective of her daughter and doesn’t give up on the task set before her. Add in a border patrol agent who melts with a certain baby in his arms, and yeah, I’m a goner.
While Tanya Stowe’s newest release isn’t as intense as many of the Love Inspired Suspense books, the pacing never gets bogged down and I enjoyed the larger focus on the relationship between Jared and Sassa. The attention to the details of the personal interactions made the happily ever after that much sweeter and I didn’t wonder whether these two would make it after the danger and adrenaline were gone.
The setting and the plot are memorable and unique too, making this book a well-developed romantic suspense that I could have kept on reading.

“It was a pathogen. A virus that kills plants. It had multiplied with nothing to feed on…. Airborne, it could travel the world and kill every living plant in its path.”
Not long ago a book about bio-terrorism might have seemed unrealistic but this new book by Tanya Stowe seems very plausible in today’s society. Biologist Sassa Nilsson and a Border Patrol Agent find themselves in a deadly race to stop a crop virus that would destroy the world’s food chain and they are involved in intrigue and extreme danger all of the way. Sassa is a brilliant scientist and a divorced mother who has learned to stand on her own but she may have to accept protection for her and her little girl. Can Jared De Luca keep them safe as he and Sassa try to discover the terrorist’s identity? is it possible for two deeply scarred people to find happiness again? Will Sassa’s deep faith prove a beacon for Jared’s faltering belief?
Author Tanya Stowe kept me guessing as I joined Sassa and Jared in their non-stop efforts to identity the bad guys….and I do mean bad! If you enjoy romantic suspense and faith-based fiction, you will certainly enjoy Killer Harvest!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Celebrate Lit. A positive review was not required and I am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe has Sassa Nilsson fighting for her life with Jared DeLuca trying to keep her and her baby safe from the Black Knights. Sassa needs to recreate a deadly formula and then come up with a cure while keeping it out of the hands of the enemy. Killer Harvest is a fast-paced suspense with touches of romance. The action begins in the first chapter and it continues to the end. Sassa is a strong female character who is intelligent, strong-willed and God fearing. Jared is a border patrol agent who carries a load of guilt over the end of his marriage and not being able to save Sassa’s employer. He also has doubts about God. Jared is taken with Sassa from the moment they meet, and he is equally enchanted with her sweet daughter. You can feel the electric chemistry between our protagonists. There is danger lurking around them with a madman intent on obtaining his goal. I could feel the tension and danger as they fight against the Black Knights. Bullets are flying and people are running. This formula could destroy all plant life which means people would starve. I was rapidly turning the pages of my ereader so I could find out how the story would end. Be prepared for work to go undone when you sit down to read Killer Harvest.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an unexpected end. Jeremiah 29:11
What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon. The author had my attention from that first line – ‘Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.’ Sassa Nilsson and her mentor Sam were returning from a trip to China and things went very, very wrong. Why Sam’s bracelet was so important that he would give it to her as he breathed his last was something she would need to identify. What happened to the formula for the virus that Sam had discovered? Was it even possible to replicate it and then find the antidote for it?
Murder, suspense, kidnapping and espionage are all a part of this incredible book about bioterrorism. While the Black Knights are fictional, it is most disconcerting to think how vulnerable our food supply really is! Remembering that God has been there all along brings these wonderful characters to release the past and forgive themselves bringing that unexpected end.
The digital copy of this book was received through Love Inspired Suspense and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own.
Tanya Stowe really knows how to grab your attention from page one and take you for an adrenaline-drenched, high-intensity suspense that will have you turning the pages! As a militant environmental group threatens to steal the formula for a virulent plant pathogen, Sassa comes into the group’s crosshairs with her work at the university lab. As a single mom with low self-esteem, Sassa is thrown into one dangerous situation after another as she tries to reconstruct the formula and then to find the cure. Jared is a border patrol agent who’d been tasked with protecting Sassa’s boss when the situation turns bleak and Sassa’s well-being is threatened. Sassa and Jared both have emotional baggage from past broken relationships so are wary of each other at first but learn to work with each other and share trust. The romance is sweet but the suspense aspect of the plot is stronger (which I happen to appreciate).
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will definitely enjoy this one. I received a copy of the book from the publisher via Celebrate Lit Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
They hold the safety of the world in their hands…
Killer Harvest is only the second book I’ve read by Tanya Stowe, I’ve also read Fatal Memories, but it’s definitely my favorite. What’s not to like? The book starts off with a murder, add some terrorists, toss in a deadly plant pathogen with the ability to destroy the world, liberally sprinkle in some flying bullets, don’t forget the adorable baby, shake it all up with trouble from the past, and the final ingredient is some serious sparks between the heroine and hero, and you’ve got some pretty exciting reading!
I really enjoyed every bit of Killer Harvest and found it almost impossible to put down. Just when you thought you had it figured out Tanya Stowe would throw another monkey-wrench in the works and away you’d go. The twists and turns were great, the characters likable, and the California setting came alive on the page. Killer Harvest was a good read and I’m definitely looking forward to more Love Inspired Suspense from Tanya Stowe…I’m going to have to see if I can find her first LIS book, too…

The author found ways to make this thriller-type story a bit different from the usual, but we still have the expected threats and danger. In this case, the terrorist group wants a formula developed to destroy crops. The main character had been working with the scientist who was seeking a cure for the deadly disease. Sassa Nilsson is a single mom with a baby, whom the enemy tries to use as a pawn. Those attempting to gain control don’t value life at all. How can Sassa and Border Patrol Agent Jared De Luca stop them and find the formula? The exciting tale is fast-paced and keeps readers guessing what will happen next. The characters seem realistic, but I don’t agree with their belief that God would bring divorced people together while one’s former spouse is still living. The Bible teaches the marriage covenant is for life, so even if separated they are not free to pursue marriage. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
Once you turn the first page the non-stop action begins, and continues right to the end, and why? Because of evil! People with no regard for human life and they will not let anyone in their way to perpetrate their plague on mankind.
A young mother, scientist, with a heart for God, and she holds in her hands the key to destruction, or maybe the way to find a cure for what the evil ones hope to spread.
We are also gifted with a Border Patrol Agent, a man who is struggling with his faith, but he has a heart for justice and we find he soon has feeling for our scientist, Sassa, and her little daughter.
Will Jared and Sassa be able to forge a relationship, will they be able to stop the evil that will demolish the world, the answers are here, but getting there and who will be left at the end, with shots and murders happening, including suicides. Suspense with a side of romance!
I received this book through Celebrate Lit, and was not required to give a positive review.
Very enjoyable story with lots of suspense. It is a scary thought that someone will come up with a product that will kill most of the foods that we grow. I hope it never happens. There were lots of twists and turns that had you wondering who was going to live and where the formula was. This story has great characters that learn more about forgiveness of others and themselves. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
My Thoughts on Killer Harvest:
Wow. This is an intense book! It’s short thankfully or you’d be staying up way too late trying to get it finished before you went to bed and then not able to sleep because of all the suspense and what-ifs!
Sassa is a single parent of a gorgeous little girl. Jared De Luca is assigned to figure out this case and protect not only Sassa but her sweet little girl and family. Both of our lead characters are divorced which we don’t see very often in novels like this.
I have a bit of a science background and really enjoyed the science behind what the book was talking about. The idea that a pathogen could be unleashed on our crops and the effects of that are huge! Makes you hope this doesn’t happen in real life anytime soon. Crazy scary there! I live in the midwest where all the crops are grown which then brought all the questions of what are the effects on people breathing it in? How will it work when people eat it? Just all the random middle of the night musings hitting my head!
This is a book I highly recommend. Great beginning. Reads fast. You won’t want to put it down.

A fun story
My rating is 4.5 stars
Full of suspense, Killer Harvest deals with a single mother, a biologist in Central California, who is thrust into a world of intrigue and terrorists.
Sassa was nicknamed Sassy Sassa by her boss, and fittingly so. Her failed marriage had taught her the importance of standing up for herself and especially for her faith. Her biggest regret was allowing herself to marry a man who didn’t share her faith and she was determined never to do that again!
Jared had come out of a troubled childhood, with a mother who needed more care than she was able to give. After being rescued from that by his grandfather, his life turned around and yet he felt that the God his grandfather loved didn’t really care for him. He was more concerned with getting ahead in his career and tried to find satisfaction in it.
When Sassa and Jared are thrown together to create the pathogen the terrorists are seeking, Jared is challenged about his view of God by the feisty scientist.
I liked the story and the characters. It was so fun to see Jared caring for baby Keri so naturally as Sassa worked in the lab. His strong protective instincts made him so appealing!
As with the other stories in the Love Inspired Suspense line, Killer Harvest has just the right blend of suspense and romance to give it plenty of interest throughout without being too edge-of-the-seat or gory. I still don’t quite get why her boss, Sam, had created this pathogen in the first place but without that, we wouldn’t have this fun story, so who am I to complain!
If you enjoy romantic suspense with characters who turn to God, Killer Harvest is a great choice.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
The book starts right off with danger and the characters hit the ground running. Sassa is in deep when her boss is murdered before her eyes. This isn’t just your run of the mill mystery . It is top level secret with biotechnology that could cause chaos if it lands in the wrong hands. The tension is thick as Sassa tries to figure out what is going on. She must find a way to protect both her and her baby from the extremists group . I could feel the uneasiness as Sassa deciphers who to trust.
Jared De Luca joins the story in hopes of shielding Sassa and her baby from danger. There is a brief moment when he isn’t sure Sassa is revealing everything she knows. I liked how strong and determined Sassa is and her intelligence will prove to be very valuable. I loved how these two unlikely people team up and face danger head on.
It was nice to see how Sassa is faithful and trusts God to help keep her safe. Jared is struggling in his faith and with the help of Sassa maybe he can let go of why he is angry at God. The backstory on Jared’s mother is very important to why he doesn’t have faith in God anymore. I loved really how he opens up and begins to bare his soul to Sassa. There are some very tense moments in the story which heightens the level of security around Sassa and her daughter.
The author is very gifted in writing a suspenseful story that keeps us on the edge of our seats. I found myself squeezing the chair as Sassa starts to get close to finding out what these men are after. The author weaves faith in the story that brings one person hope and restores faith to another.
Don’t miss this exciting adventure into secrets, danger, twists and an ending you don’t want to miss.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
