Indigo Rain is the latest Blackwood UK book and features some characters from previous books. It can however be read as a brilliant stand-alone too. Journalism student Alana, thanks to her best friend, reluctantly finds herself handling social media for one the members of indie band Indigo Rain. Travelling with the band was a real eye opener. Not everything is as it seems! This steamy mystery Romance has all elements you expect from Elise Noble .. a brilliant, original storyline, drama, mystery, humour and romance. It also has wonderful characters, both old and new, genuine and downright sleazy. Emmy as always is a delight and the sex alphabet is not to be missed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely highly recommend it.
When I started “Indigo Rain” I was wondering how Elise Noble would tackle a subject that has been presented time and time again. I was positively surprised. The book opens with the standard setup: a successful band of bad boys, a shy journalist intern with an exuberant friend and, of course, the direct involvement of a representative from Blackwood. Starting from the first few chapters, however, the storyline is enriched with a cutting sequence of new, unexpected developments; the rhythm intensifies, and the reader is catapulted into a full-fledged, fast-paced, Blackwood adventure.
Emmy makes her grand entrance early in the plot. The personality traits of her character continue to evolve episode to episode, intriguing the readers and giving life to an unforgettable persona. Skilled and brilliant minded as usual, she jumps in, playing detective and exploiting her abilities, wealth and connections to help the young protagonists, albeit in her way.
Many members of the Blackwood family soon join her, to the delight of Ms. Noble’s affectionate readers and the joy of the new ones.
The band members’ personas also evolve as the story develops, becoming more vivid and defined. They gradually grow from spoiled rebels on their way to self-destruction to gifted and sensitive individuals, generous and kind-hearted in their own very peculiar way.
The focus of the story is on Travis, the lead singer, masterfully depicted as a gifted poet and artist.
Alana, the female protagonist, soon unveils a brilliant mind, a generous disposition, a good capability of self-irony and a great sense of humor.
The storyline covers a few quite serious matters, first by taking a disenchanted look at the hectic workload of the band, and the greedy personalities of the people surrounding them, later by revealing Alana’s traumatic past. All the while, those themes are approached with respect, and without theatrics, but rather with an analytical, almost journalistic, point of view, aimed at informing the reader without influencing his/her opinion.
Last but not least, the story is narrated with Ms. Noble’s signature writing style, rich, authentically British, and intertwined with delectable and irresistible literary gems.
Overall, Indigo Rain is a fresh, fast-paced, entertaining book. A pleasant surprise for its readers, it provides true, top-class entertainment. The charming members of the Blackwood family, together with the intriguing new characters, create an amazing cast, while Ms. Noble’s vivid imagination is a guarantee for an original, unexpected and highly humoristic plot.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own
The hardest thing I find with books by Elise Noble is not devouring them in a single sitting. Yet again she’s written an action-packed, romantic story full of characters you’ll love and a few you won’t. But don’t worry, they get their comeuppance, they always do.
Loved it!!!
Elise Noble succeeded in capturing my attention with the first sentence:
“”AIEEEEE!” TESSA SHRIEKED.”
I trusted Elise to involve me in a new adventure filled by characters and a plot she developed using humor, intrigue and a bit of romance. Indigo Rain did not disappoint. Since Alana first appeared in Shallow Graves, I wanted the character connections to be fresh in my mind. So upon finishing Indigo Rain I reread Shallow Graves then I reread Indigo Rain. I enjoyed reading it again. Another great read by Elise Noble!

Indigo Rain by Elise Noble (Blackwood UK, #4)
Elise Noble is a great story teller, no matter what story she tells. This book tells the story of the rock star lifestyle of the members of a group called Indigo Rain and the balancing act that goes on between the art of writing the songs, performing on tour, wild behaviour, the gossip magazine headlines, the record company demands, the groupies, the hangers on and the various secrets all members on tour try to keep out of the public domain. While all that is going on, there are a number of suspicious deaths and a hot and heavy romance between Travis and Alana. Alana is the sister of Zander who got his Happy Ever After in a previous book. I liked that Emmy Black made an appearance or two during this story. Overall a great read. This is a stand alone book. 4 stars

What a riveting book! I loved this new installment to the Blackwood Security UK series. It has the intensity and intrigue I have grown to expect in Ms Noble’s books. There are plenty of appearances from Emmy and characters from some of the other Blackwood books, but they are not necessary to read and follow this one.
Alana, Zander’s sister from Shallow Graves, is trying to finish up her degree and find he place in the world. What better place to start than with an internship for the internationally renowned rock band Indigo Rain, who are know for their negative headlines. While entering into this world that is completely foreign to her she meets Travis, the lead singer. But women surrounding him also begin getting hurt. Together with the other band members, as well as help from Blackwood UK they search to find the culprit while they become more involved. But at the moment being involved with Travis is a dangerous place to be.
