An intense read This book was an emotional rollercoaster whose Ride was full of sentiments & All the feels
Matt was really devasted by his best-friend’s death, & Derrick’s last words were, “Stop & Smell the roses. Go & Have an adventure. Go & find Hayley, Make love to her on beach & Enjoy your Fucking life, Otherwise what’s the point?”
Derrick pushed Matt to take his leap with Hayley, & I’m so happy that he did!
They had sad times, shark bites & fun.
All in all, I’ve never been more Happy that Matt & Hayley had eachother during this tough but enlightening time
Things I Loved!
1) Matt’s numbness was shown very well. I’m happy he’s got friends & a big family around him..
2) Hayley was a tough cookie to crack but it didn’t take much time for Matt to crack her
3) Her friend was such a firecracker
4)Even if it took them time to finally be a couple, their chemistry is hot
5) I was really sad for Rachel.. She gained a daughter but lost her love.. hopefully she soon finds her HEA
6) As always, I love this crazy family!
(It was fun to know that everyone had bets on Matt confessing to Hayley)
7) As hoped we got an awesome exclusive bonus story!
P.s. Diving right into Jonah’s story
She had always been there for him, no matter what. He wants so much more from her and they slept together. She ran away from him but he will follow her and change her mind. Will he prove he is the one for her? Can she see that? See what happens between them

This is a story of friendship to love and the journey is full of obstacles.
They have been friends from a young. I love this story because it got to my emotions. Struggles and misconceptions are a big part of this story.
But it will have a HEA.
Hayley & Matt have been bestest since they were teenagers. When Matt’s other bestfriend died’s , Matt can’t stop thinking about what he said about him & Hayley being in love!

Matt and Hayley are great together. This story is about the journey of them getting to their destination not just some insta love. It’s story about how they feel and how their relationship develop .
It was slow burn romance with some drama. The life isn’t always pretty.

A great story with many elements. The story is about the eldest brother, Matthew, who has had a friendship with Hayley since his childhood. When his best friend suddenly dies, he visits Hayley and finds out that his friend was right. Even though Hayley is his best friend, he realizes that he has loved her for years. She has also loved him for years, but does not dare to believe in a future between them. The struggles they undergo to build a relationship and trust each other cover most of the book. But also the introduction of his younger brothers and sisters and their problems. They all see Matt as a confidant who solves everything, not knowing that he himself is now trying to direct his life. A book full of emotions. You will feel a smile and a tear, uncertainties but also a lot of warmth and love in this book. Highly recommended for many hours of reading pleasure
Lovely story of friends to lovers. Hayley and Matthew, have known each other for years, they practically grew up together till they were 16. They have both persuaded themselves that their relationship was of best friends. However, neither of them was convinced, so much so that even in their 30s, they were both single, subconsciously reserving that special place in their hearts. Tragedy throws them together again and they have unbelievably strong chemistry between them. They become intimate but as soon as daylight hits, doubt also creeps in. What are they?! Friends or lovers. Hayley’s family background predisposes her to a chronic fear about relationships and marriage in particular as she had already refused 4 marriage proposals. She is an ex-child actress, turned marine biologist, fearless, independent, swimming with sharks. The author has handled all that doubt, insecurity, and walls around our heroes’ hearts expertly. At times, I felt that Hayley’s actions were somewhat over the top in trying to over-rationalise both hers and Matt’s motivation and emotions. You can’t help but wish that they will realise that they belong together. Both our heroes and the other characters in the book have been very well developed and described. The storyline was interesting, the dialogue intelligent and character-approrpiate. It held my attention from beginning to end. The book had some of the most explosive sex – yet not crude- scenes I ever read. For all those who like a HEA, this book is most highly recommended.

Matt and Hayley are great, I love the dynamic they have and that this story is about the journey of them getting to their destination not just some insta love. You get drawn into what how they feel and what they go through as well as see their relationship develop and show you that great things can come out of a tragedy as well as the fact that life isn’t always a bed of roses. Get comfy for this one as you won’t put in down until the end!

This is book two in a series and while it wasn’t quite as good as the first one, it was still a great book!! There was a little too much back and forth and she eventually got on my nerves, but overall I really enjoyed it. I just love the Wright’s and I can’t wait to read more!

Heartbreak at the beginning only to bring hope to the forefront. I loved so much of this. Felt I could read a couple of chapters and walk away, only to be drawn back in as soon as I did. Loved when he called her “Hayles” and how she mentioned watching him like “Shark Week”. This was a while family romance, even though they weren’t together for most of it. Think I could’ve fallen in love with the Wright family, and especially Matt, too. Rachel’s part of the story will tug at you, that is for certain. Want to read about the whole family NOW.

I really love Matt and Hayley. They have such chemistry that you can not deny it. I love the journey they travel to find what they have together. I am saddened by Derrick’s fate. I love Matt’s big family. The beautiful beaches and scenery add to the story. I love their friendship. I love their connection even when it is not about sex. The story is beautifully crafted. The characters are deep and meaningful and wow, I’ll be looking for the first book in this series as soon as I get a chance.

Hailey was a child star, but now she’s a dive tour guide in Mexico. She loves her life, but is not at all interested in anything permanent with any man. Matt is her best friend since childhood, but they haven’t been in touch as much recently. Matt’s good friend and client passed away suddenly. He begins to wonder if he’s made the right decisions for his life and future. He finally realizes that Hailey could be his future, but now he has to convince her of that. I really love this book. Hailey and Matt have great chemistry together, even when they don’t realize the draw between them. I enjoyed their journey, written to make me feel like I was there. This book is so different than the first book in this series, but just as good. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining story line. It’s a best friends to lovers romance between Matt and Haley who’ve known each other since childhood. The author moves the story beautifully with her detailed scenes and had me hooked from start to finish reading. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

Yay me! I received an ARC copy of this book and couldn’t be happier. This is Book 2 in the Defying Expectations Series about siblings from the very large and entertaining Wright family. In this book we meet Matt, oldest child, sports agent and all around good guy. Devastated by the loss of one of his clients who is also a dear friend he starts to take stock of his life and the plans he’s made for himself. Hayley, child star turned Deep Sea Diver tour guide in Mexico is jaded when it comes to love, men and relationships and is trying her best to avoid commitment at all costs. These childhood best friends are in denial – denial about the status of their relationship. Both are (not so) secretly in love with each other and need to come to terms with it. What ensues is an often times confusing journey towards their happily ever after. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and continue to get to know the Wright family.
