Eternal Bond & Brimstone is Book 1 in the Legacy of Sins series. J.N. Colon’s imagination and way with words makes this book a phenomenal read. The characters are very well written and interesting. Lena is 17 and the new kid on the block as well as in Mystic Hollow High. She is a typical teenager: snarky, fast on her feet (quick witted), and accident prone. Jayson is broody and mysterious. He saved Lena by initiating a soul bond which created a strong attraction between them but now wants to keep Lena at arms length. It’s really fun watching these two argue. This is an action packed, fast moving, page turning adventure filled with twists, turns and thrills which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and am anxious for the next book. This is a book I highly recommend. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
My Rating: 4.7
I really enjoyed the world I was brought into with this book. It’s one of those books that doesn’t give a lot of information but you know there’s something deeper going on, obvs lol. But its discreet and I really enjoyed being a little unsure of where it would take me.
For me the book wasn’t like BAM full of action kind of book…I’d say it was sorta a quiet feeling book (which is definitely not a bad thing!), but it manages to grasp and keep you pleasantly hooked; Wanting to find the answers and learning more about the world. I probably would’ve wanted a little more information, because I’m nosey like that lol. But the way she dropped small snippets of what was going down, was very well done. It helped make the world development show crisply in the MC’s current mind and knowledge. And can I just say I totally loved how you displayed Lena’s inner monologue! I was continually entertained by it.
I 100% absolutely without a doubt loved the characters in this book. First off, I think I found my character kindred spirit! Lena was just so crazily relatable to me.
Our awesome MC has a funny obsession with sweets that I really loved reminded me a bit of Jessa in Supernatural Prison…but aside from that our dear girl has a habit of crashing into things, tripping over a crack in the ground, or who knows what else. But where Lena goes clumsiness follows. But thankfully, with her new move to a small town, called Mystic Hollow, she may have just found someone willing to do a little saving.
ay hello to Jayson. Mister McHandsome and also Mister Intense. He’s the quiet brooding type never really talks much to others outside of his close knit friends…but that changes when he meets Lena. From the very first time there was a lot of intense looks and fireworks and they kinda butted head just a wee bit…so expect a lot of fireworks.
See while his ‘thing’ was brooding (according to Lena), hers was sarcasm, and the moment he started showing an interest in her, because of obvious reactions such as “hot damn” lol…but there’s also something different about her, and he believes she is here in town for a reason…so obviously he is a bit wary of her too. So he gets a “little” bossy and tries to tell her what to do…but because this is Lena she’s more like…”Don’t tell me what to do!” So the more he pushes the more likely she is to do it, just to cheese him off lol. That’s the sort of relationship they have haha. So you can imagine the entertainment value you would get with two like this.
But let me give you some more information about the actual storyline. So as I said she moved towns, with her Dad, and into a rather small town where she figured she’d be bored. But alas, she shouldn’t be surprised. With a girl like her, how could anything get boring? Anywho, guess who her oh so sexy neighbour is? Yep, it was totally Jayson!! And well his Uncle Max too! So she has some awesome eye-candy from her window. And Lena definitely isn’t complaining, unless he’s annoying her which is like most of the time. But their attraction levels are off the charts.
Okay moving away from these two, and back into the story lol…I keep getting sidetracked haha. Can you blame me? Let me just say, this chick knows how to write her characters!…anywho, so Lena has made some new friends at school, Jessica and Sebastian, and they’re kinda into investigating ghost/spirit activity. Lena decides to tag along with her friends and now finds herself in the cemetery, where she kinda finds Jayson and Kale fighting off these monsters…which are in fact demons….and she sorta finds herself…smack bam in the middle.
Yep real bad, coz then she sorta ends up with claws ripped through her chest and she is most definitely dying…lucky for her she has a guardian angel on her side…and Jayson does something that not many do…he ties his soul to her…and they become bonded.
Even though this happened you’d think he’d tell her what was going on. Right? But nope…Jayson is still determined to keep her very much out of it, but he also didn’t count on the stubborn will of Lena to find answers…and plus when destinies are involved they can’t be controlled. Especially when she may just be a very crucial piece in this world.
You see, ever since she arrived, these odd people, that she learns are demons, are kinda gunning for her…and she’s seeing things that she can’t explain. Kale finally convinces Jayson that Lena can no longer stay in the dark. She is then brought into a world where danger is a constant. So she must learn to navigate a world where Demons are real, and Fallen Angels exist and, they have plans for her but…that’s classified information lol.
This was a uniquely constructed world and a story that took me on an adventure that just leaves me wanting more. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book…I’m super curious to learn all the secrets and to watch as the plot develops more.
I am so ready for it. I can just feel its going to get better from here on out.
Happy Readings Nerdy Friends

Wow what a fantastic read. This is definitely a read that grabs you from the first page to the last. It had me on the edge of my seat. I love the humor as well. If you love the Supernatural, then this is definitely a read I recommend. The Author does a fantastic job at world building, as well as bringing out the Characters. And the book cover is magnificent as well.

Accident prone Lena is starting a new school in a new town but it doesnt go as well as she’d like. Mainly because this town is in the middle of a lot of spooky goings on. Earthquakes, Lightning Strikes on the downtown street and other supernatural things seem to follow her about. Add to that is Jayson and his friends. They seem friendly but Jayson’s not exactly welcoming but hes Lena’s shadow. Much to her annoyance. Lena is a great character. Full of Wit and Sarcasm. Perfect opposite to Jayson whose all brooding. Fab story and im dying to find out what will happen in the next book?
AN EXCITING START TO A DARING TREAT!!!
Slam dunk! Colon threw this little jewel out with such passion and finesse it just blew me away. Captivated from the start balancing a double edge sword as all the thrills, chills and frills come blazing through wiping out everything in its wake. Twixt and twined and stretched to unbelievable limits that keep you grappling, fusing piece after piece together with just enough flaws to make it more interesting. Pushing through all the trials and tribulations along with this intense storyline and swirling plot mixed with those blazing emotions as they meld this jewel together piece by jagged piece. Their personalities are well matched as the revelations and speculations blend and flow. Outstanding job Colon, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
J.N. Colon is so magical with her writing. She always has the perfect combination of sarcasm, mystery, romance and action that I can never put the book down. Lena is so snarky and funny with her words that she uses instead of curse words. Also the comparisons that she uses to other movies, shows, or books to her situations had me rolling with laughter. Jayson you’ll want to know more about from the start with his mysterious loner vibe he puts off but of course there is more that meets the eye with him. Cant wait for the rest of the series.
Gotta love the snark! LOL.
Eternal Bond and Brimstone by J.N. Colon is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful series that I have started falling in love reading and can not wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romances in their stories.

I’m totally I love with this book. I need to know what happens next. Hopefully we don’t have to wait long for the next book.
What a great start to a new series that was just a blast to read. It was full of teenagers and magic which can lead to amazing stories like this one. I loved the writing and the story itself as we follow Lena’s adventures in small town USA. I just really liked the story from the beginning and was hooked as I read it in one sitting to see what would happen next and what craziness Lena would have to deal with next. Just the right blend of normal and fantasy. So worth reading and I cannot wait for the next book.
Angels, fallen and regular, nephillim, demons and humans. This book was full of intrigue and interesting characters. I was taken in by the constant battle between Lena and Jayson. After initiating the soul bond with her to save her life, their attraction only intensified. Yet he wanted to keep her at arms length. Great story but I didn’t want it to end. Can’t wait for the next book!!
