An accident changed their lives forever! Or was it fate?
Wendy is a baker who works with her family. She’s single and dedicated to her job. She’s great just the way she is, if only everyone else was able to see it.
A cake delivery changes everything when her van misses a kid who unexpectedly skated right in front of her car. Crisis averted, but it brings Hunter into her life.
He’s a single dad who is doing his best to raise a good kid. He also happens to be a billionaire with secrets. The need to teach his kid a valuable lesson, continues their connection. As well as some interference from her meddling family.
Paths have now crossed and everything will eventually fall into place. Hunter can’t get enough of Wendy and will do anything to keep her in his life. Their attraction was steamy! This story will keep you guessing. It’s sweet, it’s sexy and I wasn’t quite sure of how it would end. There were characters you’ll love and those you will love to hate. I really enjoyed Hunter and Wendy.
Wendy’s older sister Rochelle is getting married and once again, Wendy is dateless. Wendy doesn’t have a problem with it but her mother and sister do. Rochelle has always held the princess title in the family and this wedding is no different. Everything has to be perfect and Wendy is expected to attend, preferably with a date. It all comes down to this, not the fact Wendy is a masterful baker who has studied with the best and will someday run the family coffee shop and bakery, Midnight Morning. No, poor Wendy. No boyfriend. All alone. Well, not for long. A run in with a fourteen year old boy leads to meeting his father, Hunter. No father ever looked like this guy. Tall, dark and handsome with the most gorgeous, mesmerizing blue eyes. After some convincing, Wendy soon finds herself at her sister’s wedding with Hunter as her date. They have fun together, laughing, flirting and they end up spending an unforgettable night together. Wendy is everything Hunter has ever dreamed of in a woman. She’s smart, kind and caring. Wendy is not convinced. Hunter is super rich and can have any woman he wants. He’s so far out of her league, it’s not even funny. Hunter has a teenage son that needs his full attention and that is his number one priority. There’s really no room for romance or relationships in his life at this time, no matter how much he wishes things were different.
This was unlike any Pretend Boyfriend/Date for Hire book I’ve ever read. I LOVED the inner dialogue of both Hunter and Wendy. SECRETS from the past that come back to haunt, are just some of the UNEXPECTED TWISTS in this story.
RELENTLESS PURSUIT WITH TOTAL SURRENDER, NOT JUST PHYSICAL BUT EMOTIONAL ! There’s so much more I want to say, but you really need to read this book, YOU WILL LOVE IT ! AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH ! ! !
Wendy is the youngest in her family. Dedicated to her families bakery, she loves nothing more than creating and designing her cakes and staying out of the spot light. That is easy when she is the youngest sister in the family and her older sister Rochelle, always has her way. The morning of a delivery when a young boy runs out in front of her, everything changes. When Hunter goes to make amends for the damage caused, he gets quite a bit of personal information about Wendy from her mother. Determined to make Wendy feel special for once, he agrees to accompany Wendy to her sisters wedding. Little did either know, that would be the start of something amazing and that hidden secrets would be revealed and peoples lives would be in danger…..Fantastic read! This story has everything you would want…suspense, drama, danger, love and so much more!
I voluntarily reviewed a ARC
If you’re looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you’ve found it. The characters and scenes were realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat. I followed the characters fascinated as their personalities transformed and blended. Vivid detailed descriptions were so life like and on point. The storyline was solided and well defined. Cold showers may be in order when your finished. Nicole Snow did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully.
I voluntarily submitted an ARC review for this book.
I know I’ve said it a hundred times but I’ll say it again, Nicole gets better and better with each book.
I absolutely adored this book. I was up until 4AM. I honestly could not find a stopping point.
You won’t regret getting this book.
Drama, danger, secrets, deception, humor, suspense, unexpected twists, engaging characters, hot scenes… everything I love in a well written, captivating, intriguing, and sexy romance story.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Nicole Snow is one of my most favorite authors. She writes with skill and passion, and with her heart. This book is no exception – the storyline is sweet, yet explosive, and the characters are exciting, captivating and believable. I loved this book and would highly recommend it to all romance lovers. 5 shining stars!
I love a quirky, sassy, strong h, and Wendy Agnes is that!! Add to that mix a hunky, perfect alpha H, and you get Hunter Forsythe. Mix in a cast of characters from a teenage “son”, to pushy mothers, quiet, fathers, a bridezilla sister, and a back stabbing best friend, you get this great read by Nicole Snow. I loved all these characters, you really connected with them as a reader. The book moved quickly, was a page turner and my end of 2018 crush was Hunter. Great Read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I adore Wendy with every fiber of my being. I feel a little like her without the sass which I am very envious of. Here is this woman who is constantly overlooked by her family. When she is seen, it is usually in a negative light. She just wants to be left alone to bake her cakes and cookies. However with a mother that thinks she needs help in dating, things are going to get interesting.
Wendy meets Hunter to day she almost runs his son over. There was so much in this scene that told you exactly who these two individuals were. Wendy was angry at Ben – Hunters son – but yet could see the fear in dealing with his dad and this brought out the mama instinct in Wendy. Hunter is this strong man and since he was in the military and runs a successful business isn’t used to be sassed at. Here is this little woman putting him in his place. You can also see here that Hunter has such an array of emotions in this scene. He is angry, sad, and scared something could have happened to his son and he is struggling to hide his anger so he can have a conversation with his son.
I loved watching these two dance around each other. Both needing each other more than they realize and surprised that they both enjoy being around each other. The wedding was a hoot to read about. It was both sexy and funny at the same time.
I would recommend this book.
This is another great book by this author and once again, makes me rethink my favorite. This book is a bit twistier than some of her other work but it made the story so much better. These characters were hilarious and heartbreaking at times but I absolutely loved them. I only wish that Wendy could have told off her family one good time lol. She took all of their behavior and just accepted it and she was sooo strong with Hunter. Ahhh then there is Ben and he is such an amazing kid, I hope he gets his own book one day…hint hint…
When Wendy set to deliver a cake for a retirement party, she never expected that a simple delivery would change her life forever but it did because this delivery was anything but simple. She destroys the cake and almost hits a sweet boy on his skateboard. And when the boys super hot dad shows up, things go straight to intriguing.
Hunter has made it his life mission to focus on his son, he even went into semi retirement to make it happen. This year has been especially difficult since he is starting high school away from his friends and Hunters is nearing the end of his rope.
Now these two are stuck together in what started out as a favor exchange but the more time they spend together, the longer they want it to last. However someone is trying to keep them apart, sabotage his home and work life, but accusations are flying and trust is dwindling. Will they be able to figure it out before they ruin their happy ever after?
Hunter is a swoon-worthy dream come true!
Like Wendy, I found it impossible not to fall in love with Hunter and his young son, Ben. Hunter doesn’t even realize how much trauma he’s still carrying around from the tragedy that happened more than a decade before, but Wendy is the much-needed breath of fresh air that shakes all the cobwebs loose and lets the light in through all the cracks in Hunter’s life.
Wendy is the beleaguered youngest daughter in a family that refuses to believe she could meet even their lowest expectations. Despite the constant criticism, though, she has made a name for herself as a world-class pastry chef and is more than fearless enough to stand up to Hunter and let him know exactly what he’s doing wrong with Ben. After her family sets her up with him for her older sister’s upcoming wedding, she finds that there’s more to Hunter than meets the eye and their unconventional relationship starts to take root.
There’s more humor and less life-threatening drama in this book than in the author’s other recent works, though there certainly is a villain and justice is found in the end. It’s rare to see a villain so successfully portrayed as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The tragic history storyline played out just as expected, yet it was still satisfying and triumphant.
The entire wedding scene alternated between emotional interplay that made me breathless and situational humor that had me laughing so hard I cried. By the end of the sister’s wedding, everyone – this reader included – was irrevocably in love with Hunter.
By the end of the story, Hunter’s entire life has been rewritten and his soul healed by the freedom found in the truth and by the patient love he found with Wendy. I loved every bit of this book and devoured it in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Hunter, Wendy, and Ben and how they meet just when they most need each other.
