Revisit the Mackenzies in this heartwarming Christmas tale of the New York Times bestselling Mackenzies series.
The Mackenzies gather for a clan Christmas and Hogmanay in Scotland. In the chaos of preparations for the celebration–the first of Hart and Eleanor’s married life–one of Ian’s Ming bowls gets broken, and the family scrambles to save the day. Daniel busily runs a betting ring for … ring for everything from the hour Eleanor’s baby will arrive, to whether Mac’s former-pugilist valet can win a boxing match. Ian begins a new obsession, and Beth fears that the loss of one of his precious bowls has made him withdraw once more into his private world.

4.5-star!
This is a short lovely story just in time for the holiday season. If you’ve read the first four books of the series featuring the four Mackenzie brothers: Ian, Mac, Cam, and Hart, then you’ll find this book delightful and sweet and nostalgic.
All four brothers with their wives and kids gathered together at Kilmorgan Castle for the holidays. Many events happened with each of the brother, and throughout all those ordeals, they always had each other’s back and support. This book makes my heart so full and warm thinking about their tight-knit clan and their extended HEAs with their wives. I just felt it was a little bit all over the place with many PoVs going on throughout the book. Regardless, it’s a lighthearted and cozy Christmas read that will make the Mackenzie fans elated!
What a fun read! Though I’ve never read any of the authors’ previous books, which I have no doubt tell the stories that result in the Mackenzie brothers’ marriages, I still found the entire bunch of them, as gathered to celebrate , fascinating and delightful. Various secondary characters also got my attention. It is a tribute to old fashioned good writing. HIGHLY Recommended. Now I’m going off to find a copy of The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
I picked this up for free on ibooks and figured I would read it since it’s Christmas time. It’s a great companion to the MacKenzie series and is just like a big epilogue-type book.
The story follows all the couples (up to book 4) and some side characters. I really liked seeing them all cute and Christmasy. There are some issues because it’s a story, but mostly it’s warm and fuzzy.
I felt like there was a ton of Ian and Beth. Maybe it’s only because they are my favorite couple. I always love getting in Ian’s head and trying to see the world the way he does. And their “conflict” surrounding the Ming bowl played on my heartstrings.
This was exactly what I thought it would be. And it made me so happy and excited for the holiday season. I freaking love the MacKenzie family.
A great series in this genre
The Mackenzie-McBride series is worth the time and $$ to collect. This is a gathering of the clan so we can see how they are all celebrating the holiday. Great historical romance stuff
A cute little novella. I love that you get to see the whole family. See them spend the holidays together. Fellows joins the holidays which I like. Mac and Iz had some cute moments. I enjoyed getting caught up with Cam, Ainsley, and Danny too. I love the hell outta Ian and Beth. They had some great news and Ian did something awesome for Christmas for his children. Ian always steals the show! I don’t know what it is about Ian but I love him so much. One of my top 5 most unforgettable book boyfriends. So even thought this book was about the whole family and I loved all of them anything with Ian I devour. It was sweet reading about the birth of Hart and El’s son. A enjoyable quick read! Maybe too quick I would have loved more.
