This is the first book in the Alvarez and Pescoli series, and I loved it. It’s rare for a book to surprise me lately, and this one did. It was fantastic! Great characters, awesome mystery, and a couple of surprises that I did not see coming. I’m off to read the second book in the series now!
This is part of the Pescoli and Alvarez series… I’ve read a few and listened to more. This series translates well to audio (some don’t, and that’s a credit to Jackson’s writing.) The characters are wonderful with excellent story arcs that continue throughout the series. You’ll root for them, cringe at some of the choices and wait in horror as their cases unfold around them and sometimes become personal. The mysteries are excellent the villains are top notch. This series is a go-to any time I need a great read!
This book was easy to read and full of suspense. I read it in one day an want to read the second one
What a great book. I won the entire series (8 books in all).
This first book tells the story of the Star-Crossed Killer, someone who targets women and causes them to get into a car accident. She is then “rescued” and cared for before being left to die somewhere.
Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli are the detectives who are investigating the killings. During the investigation, there is a random victim who is in a car accident and rescued and cared for but is not part of the killings. This is a parallel story to the killing story.
Great book. It was hard for me to put down. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
The narrator was good story was okay I guess small town in Montana women keep getting into vehicle wrecks the person who saves them from dying in the wreck ends up nurturing the back to health and then tying into a tree naked and watching them die of hypothermia it wasn’t that enjoyable but I can’t be left hanging and that is exactly how she wrote it where You Don’t Know How It Ends until you read the next book which I absolutely hate but here we are so I will be reading next book too unfortunately
It had been a couple of years since I had turned the pages on one of this author’s novel. As I began I remembered the superb I would encounter and happy to have entered into this one. The deep drama drew me in with the murders being those that have you sticking close. The killer is one so full of himself that you would like to be the one to smash him. Selena and Regan had hoped for a big one so they get more than I think they asked for. Jillian is also one to watch where and what happens with her. This is one that will tie you up and pull you around. I forgotten how this author can capture me completely as done in this.
Lots of action and a twisted page turner.
Difficult to put down.
This entire series was a five plus star reading experience. One of my favorite authors.
I loved it
