The worst way to welcome new neighbors is definitely murder.Christie Watson has never been closer to discovering the truth about her mother’s murder—a cold case she’s been tracking for quite some time. She’s desperate for the truth, but it seems there are others who are desperate to keep her from finding it. When her new next-door neighbor drops dead, the suspicion lands squarely on the shoulders … squarely on the shoulders of the two elderly women, who wouldn’t hurt a fly—but definitely a burger. Christie has to clear their names or risk losing them for good.

I read this as part of a bookset. This series is a great little read. The commentary was great as it set the scenes for each story and helped to develop the characters’ personalities. Coming back home, Christie didn’t know many people. She was on a sabbatical from the Boston Police Department for performance unbecoming an officer. Christie followed her own rules and investigated issues in her own style. For that, she could lose her job; something she always wanted to be just like her mom. Christie gets into investigating any and all murders helping her friends while being told to stay out of it by the handsome detective. I love the characters. The friendship, camaraderie and love they shared for each other were wonderful! It made you feel like they were your friends and felt like you lived in the town. The twins were a hoot along with Curly Fries! A relationship started to bloom between Christie and Liam and I hope it continues to grow. A lot of twists and turns trying to identify the murderer in each story. Once I began reading, I couldn’t put it down. This was a fantastic cozy mystery with just the exact amount of humor, romance, mystery, intrigue, quirky characters, and adventure that will keep the reader thoroughly engaged.
I think that this burger sounds beyond disgusting as I hate salmon but I like the idea of these crazy interesting burgers. I read this whole series while sick and hiding from snow and frozen toes this past week. I am sad that it’s ending but enjoyed reading something different and a new to me author. The characters are all fun and well thought out.
Christie agrees to help Missi and Vee with a charity meal delivery to those that can’t afford it. During their discussion about it, Christie ends up finding a cutie pie kitty, which she ends up keeping until she can find his owner. In addition, that night is her first to do meal delivery. Unfortunately, their first delivery leads to a murder!
These books keep getting better. The characters are growing and the storyline is starting to progress a bit more with Christie’s mother’s cold case. Things are really heating up!

Christie isn’t getting to work too much on her mother’s cold case due to all the murders that keep happening in Sleepy Creek. In this book, Christie’s not even sure the ‘correct person’ was killed, but the worse part was she and her two friends were the ones that gave the victim his last meal! Oh boy!! Can she figure out who the murderer is and why? Another great story in this series. Love all the characters and the bantering between them. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout.
This is a light, fun cozy mystery series that is better read sequentially in order to better appreciate the character development and progression of an overlying murder theme (solving a cold case related to the main character). Each story features a murder in the small town of Sleepy Creek, where Christie Watson has come to visit her friend while on sabbatical from the Boston Police Department. The problem is that Christie can’t help getting involved in solving each murder, something that neither the lead detective in Sleepy Creek nor her boss in Boston approves. But she continues to see connections to her mother’s case and so, finds herself investigating independently. #5 finds her in the middle of a poisoning that may implicate two of her friends, Vee and Missi and their volunteer work. The characters in this little town are definitely quirky and while I love the antics of her friend’s cat, Curly Fries, I really enjoyed the introduction of a new kitty cat, Poirot (I am a sucker for animals in cozy mysteries). I can’t wait for the next book in this series, because I think we are getting closer to solving her mother’s cold case, and I am anxious to see if it involves any of the town’s current residents. Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book and all opinions are strictly my own.
Christie Watson is back in another fun and entertaining cozy mystery. Great story line with just the right amount of drama, suspense, twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages til the end and characters that are fun to get to know as you read along. Grab your copy, settle into your favorite chair and get lost in this entertaining mystery.

Christie Watson is at it again! At what again you say? Another murder has fallen in her lap in Sleepy Creek and of course she has to investigate it.
She’s with her two friends the twins, Mississippi and Virginia delivering macaroni and cheese meals to the needy for The Creakin’ Wheels and Meals Charity…
When one meal is delivered to her neighbor, Kevin, who falls over dead in front of them all!
Is this the work of the Somerville Spider Gang?
Or something else more sinister?
Besides figuring out what happened with this murder and almost getting herself caught in the end by the murderer, Christie has a lot on her plate!
A stray cat turns up at the home she shares with her best friend Griselda. This cat really likes her compared to Griselda’s cat Curly Fries who has a bit of attitude! The adorable black and white stray who’s markings look like a mustache and glasses has adopted her. She names him Poirot for Agatha Christie’s famous detective character. I love this part of the book and I’m glad the cat gets to stay!
Christie’s mother’s cold case comes to a dead end in this installment of the Burger Bar Mystery series. The reader does get a taste of what is behind the cold case which I enjoyed reading about. It’s been a bit of a mystery why it’s a cold case in the last few books of the series.
The decision is made about Christie’s job in Boston. I look forward to the next book to see how things progress in her life and if that cold case will ever get solved!
These books can be standalone books, they don’t take too long to read and have held my interest with whatever mystery is happening in each book. I enjoy the little side notes with a little romantic interest with Detective Liam Balle and the cats that go along with the story.
I read this book through the Kindle lending library.
Christie Watson is still on leave from her job as a detective and is currently waiting tables at her friend’s burger bar. While in town, she finally has the opportunity to take a closer look at the cold case pertaining to her mother’s murder but finds that there are outside factors wanting her to stay far away.
When her next-door neighbor drops dead from poisoning and the elderly twins that Christie has befriended are suspects, she soon finds herself trying to solve the case. Unfortunately, this means risking her job as a detective and getting herself knee-deep with someone that could have ties to her mother’s murder.
This is a well-written cozy mystery filled with lots of madcap adventure, quirky and zany characters, hidden secrets, mystery, and lots of twists and turns. If you like a strong female main character who has brains, whit, and lots of tenacity, then this book needs to be added to your “must read” pile.

Finally getting a chance to look at the case file for the murder of her mother fails to bring Christie the closure regarding her death. As more murders happen once again, Christie finds herself in the midst of danger, and in a position to help save lives.
Will her choices bring her closer to leaving and/or death?
Sometimes it is a good thing there is no place like home.
Changes and new and different opportunities seem to loom ahead, if Christie can survive to face them.
Intense and emotion tangled KU mystery !

I absolutely love this series with awesome characters like Christie and of course, a cat lover like me, Poirot! This is one of the best series around and this book is fabulous. There is a plot in each book and then, like a super plot to the whole series. You cannot miss any in this series but who would want to?

I really like reading about Christie, Grizzy, the Terrible Twins, Liam, and the Burger Bar and the tasty new specialty burger in each book! A very intriguing mystery with several strong suspects, I had a hard time putting this book down. I enjoyed following Christie’s investigation of a murder and the ongoing mystery of Christie’s mother’s death. Are all the recent crimes in town related to one another? Are they connected to Christie’s mother in some way? I’m itching to find out! I recommend this book – and this series – to anyone who enjoys a good, easy-to-read mystery.
I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
Christie may be on sabbatical from her job as a Detective, but she can’t help detecting when a good deed goes horribly wrong. Rosie A. Point has created appealing characters in an enjoyable mystery. The Salmon Burger Murder has twists that kept me guessing through the ending. Frankly, I cannot wait for the next novel.

Another good book in the series and we are getting closer to Christie solving her Mother’s murder. In this book Christie finally has access to the police report from her Mother’s murder but first she has to solve the murder of her next door neighbor. Christie is asked by the twins to help them deliver meals to needy people in town for a local charity. Their first stop is her neighbor and he drops dead right in front of them as he is scarfing down the food. Christie, using her usual irresponsible investigating techniques, solves the murder, but is fired from her job for interfering. The upside is she now has a cat, Poirot, and she can stay in the town she has come to love.
