In my old life, Tanner Lochlan was more than the boy next door. He was my best friend. In my new life, he absolutely hates me.I’m Skye, the girl who left Hillford without a trace.Hell freezing over: that’s when I swore I’d come back here. Turns out, all it took was six years, a funeral, and a nasty car crash I’m told I was lucky to survive. In the aftermath, I can’t remember much about my … I can’t remember much about my supposedly great, new life. But I remember my old one.
I remember Tanner, and the way he makes my heart race with nothing but an inked-out glance.
We left so much on the table, giving in feels inevitable—even though we both know, when I leave again, we’ll end up shattered. Just like last time.
Back then, I thought Tanner could fix absolutely anything.
But he can’t fix me.

In another life, Skye Michaels would be mine.
In this life, she’s the girl who vanished: no note, no clues. No warning. The girl who ripped my heart to shreds one summer, leaving me to repair the pieces.
If I give in once, I’ll give in completely. I know better.
This isn’t the girl I knew. The one I swam with in the river after school, or kissed under tree branches—the one I loved.
But no matter how much Skye changes, I’m still addicted to what she does to me.
And, God help me…I think I like it.

This was a wonderful book filled with loads of chemistry. And the characters are well developed and and kept my attention from the beginning to the end. Storyline flowed smoothly.

I absolutely love this series! Tanner was introduced in the first book, The Midwife’s Playlist, briefly.
Piper Lennox is a master at writing stories that will pull on your heartstrings and captivating characters that make you feel like you know them personally. And that’s exactly what this book has. This was a beautiful yet heartbreaking story of two childhood best friends who grew steadily to more until the unexpected happened and changed the course of their story. Tanner and Skye were fantastic characters, though I’ll admit that Tanner was my favorite. I just had a minor issue when I felt Skye was being selfish/childish when she was expecting or hoping to get Tanner to leave after he had some life altering news. I did, however, like that she was mature enough to understand and agree with how Easton felt towards Ford.
I am really hoping for Hudson to get his own story! I’ve been dying to know more about him and those still waters since the first book!

I couldnt get enough of Tanner and Skye. So much angst, pain, love loss and history. Their story is heartwrenching and beautiful. I couldnt put this book down and I wish there were about 20 epilogues! I look forward to hearing from them in the next book in the series.

Emotionally breath stealing
The Carpenter’s Wedding (Now Entering Hillford Book 2) by Piper Lennox is another amazingly fantastic book this author has graced her readers with. Tanner and Skye experience a wide range of emotions encompassing their history as well as their present and this book explores it all. These characters are very engaging and endearing. Tanner is a wary alpha, unsure about life as it is and his world is rocked when Skye returns. Skye is sweet but so lost and unsure of herself for so many reasons. I was captivated by both of them immediately and kept on the edge of my seat as they tentatively became a part of each other’s lives once more. There’s memories, reminiscing, obstacles, trust issues, chemistry, past hurts and so much more that will have you as hooked as I was to the very end.
I really enjoy the way this author uses memories to help her characters come to realizations and understandings throughout her books and this book, for Tanner and Skye, is no exception. Also, as this book is the second in her new series, characters introduced in Book 1, The Midwife’s Playlist, make repeat appearances in this book as well. I can’t wait til we get to know more about Bram and Hudson!
Overall, an exceptionally well written book as expected from this author. The HEA is sweet and so very promising, just right for Tanner and Skye.

We first meet Tanner and Skye in The Midwife’s Playlist and now we get there story.
Skye and Tanner have been best friends since birth. They know everything about each other, it’s impossible not too when you grow up next door to one another. Then one day Skye leaves with no warning, no notice and no note. When she finally returns home after 6 years more things have changed then she expected. Feelings will resurface, the truth will finally come out but at what cost??
This is a great second chance story of two people who truly deserve it. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
This was a very emotional book to read. Skye and Tanner will take you on an emotional roller coaster. The characters are well-developed and likable. A second chance at love for both of them. Plenty of twists, heartbreak and lots of drama to keep your interest. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
A second chance love story has always been my favorite. This has moved up into my favorites. It had all the extras built into it. These two had amazing chemistry and even better romance. So much hurt between them, secrets between them, and so much running away. Once these two figured it out they were a force you wouldn’t be able to stop!

Wow couldn’t put this one down. I don’t know how I missed this book. I am a huge fan of Piper Lennox and I read the first book in Now Entering Hillford when it was released but somehow never read this one. Then I was given the opportunity to read the 3rd book, The Poets Cookbook and was able to snag the first two as well. I reread the first and then read this one and was really blown away.
Tanner and Skye have a ton of history much like Easton and Ford, but Skye is the one who left leaving behind a lot of pain and anger.
But, much like Ford, she never really did find what she seemed to be looking for and came back home, back to Tanner, and although it took some time the two are able to find their way back to each other and man the story along the way is gut wrenching and hard to read a times but just so very worth it in the end.
Disclaimer I have read the whole Now Entering Hillford series now and it is definitely in my top ten all time favorites. All the characters are complex and well rounded and very very real. The stories are original and emotional in their own special way but also work very well together as a series.
I couldn’t fathom why Skye would pick up and leave town like she did unless some major had happened.
It was interesting that while Skye was off living somewhere else, doing a job she hated, and trying to numb her emotions, Tanner was doing something similar by going through the motions of a wedding.
Demons are faced, secrets are uncovered, coercion is avoided, lies are told, as Tanner and Skye struggle for their second chance at an HEA.
A medium paced, steamy romance full of unease, misgivings, and anxiety. There are a few light moments, and Tanner and Skye do get their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A great addition to the series
When Skye left town years ago without so much as a note, Tanner had to get over her and move on with his life. So now he’s getting married but his Bridezilla fiancé is making his life a living hell. When Skye’s beloved grandmother dies, he and his fiancé attend the service, never thinking Skye would come home.
Skye left for a very good reason that has kept her on the move for all these years. When she makes one of her infrequent calls home, she finds out her grandmother has died and decides to attend the service and not even spend the night. Unfortunately for her, she has an accident on her way out of town and is stuck at her mother’s for the foreseeable future. Now she’ll have to explain herself.
