Maxwell Carter spent six years of his life training himself to be an Enforcer. Hours of running, cross fit, and keeping a healthy diet, from the age of nineteen until he was old enough to try out for the Enforcers at the age of twenty-five. All he could do was imagine himself catching the bad guys and bringing them to justice—but his dream fell short due to an injury after being at the Enforcers’ … Enforcers’ training facility for just a few weeks.
Soon after, he joined the Rogue Enforcers where he was sent on a mission, one that would change his life forever.
Alley Raine just wanted to live out her life in her twenties the same as any other fox shifter would—living her best life and enjoying every moment of it. It was all fun and games until she made a deadly mistake—one that would land her in a horrible place, causing her to escape from reality and spend her life on the run. And she didn’t stop running until she became the mission of a hot, muscled up falcon that flew at top speed into her life, shaking up everything she thought she knew.
Her family held secrets like any other shifter family did, but the one she learns will change her life forever.
Will Maxwell and Alley become the mates they are destined to be? Or will Alley let the secrets of her family’s past keep her from her future forever?

I really enjoyed this book. So glad I read the first book to give the back story, but Maxwell was so much better throughout.
Another amazing read from Livell James. I could not put this book down. Maxwell is book 2 in the Rogue Enforcers Novella series. Each book is written by a different author and being one who doesn’t read PNR very often I cannot wait to see what is next in this series.
In maxwell we have Max who is a falcon shifter and Alley who is a fox shifter. Max is an enforcer and must hunt down Alley who escaped from prison. But once he finds her hr realizes she is his mate. Will he be able to do what he was sent to do or will he protect her with everything he has?
Another must read from Livell!!
Another five star read from this author. Maxwell is the second book in the Rogue Enforcers series and LJ did a great job of fitting in the world Grace Brennan has created.
Maxwell is a Black Falcon shifter and has always wanted to be one of the Enforcers. Max did get to train with them for a short time but due to an injury, he was asked to leave. The day he left the Enforcers was the day the Rogues asked him to join them.
Alley is a fox shifter who was involved in an accident and sent to a human prison. This accident involved another shifter and should never have involved the humans, but a human saw Ally running away and she was in human form. Now that Ally has escaped the Rogue Enforcers need to find her before the humans do.
I do want to know what happened with Alley’s dad. Why was he so adamant about her joining his pack? Was it a power thing or did he want her to mate with a certain person? Also the wolf part. Is it still there or did it go dormant again once they left pack land?
I definitely recommend this series for all shifter fans.
Absolutely amazing book I couldnt put it down. The characters are so vividly detailed that you can actually see them, and the romance scenes are really vivid as well but they dont take away from the story, definitely for adults of course. This book has the right amount of everything from having you drooling over max, to being on the edge of your seat completely in trance with the excitement of the chase. I definitely recommend this book to the more mature readers.
A nice little Story from Livell James Alley escapes from prison, where she’s doing time for murder. Something her captors didn’t know about her, she’s a shifter, who bides her time, till it was time to go. On the run, she finds some help along the way, but who can she trust? Maxwell, as part of the Rouge Enforcers is assigned to find her, to keep her safe from the humans hunting her. Foxes being sly, required Max to study up, so he can find her, which to his surprise was pretty easy. Alley has a lot thrown at her, lots of info she didn;t know, and wasn’t really happy about. But the one thing she knew is Maxwell would always find her! This was an easy well written read, that I loved!
*WARNING* for adult readers due to sexual content

I was going to give this story 2 stars, but the third star is for the Black Falcon. The research about the bird was worth the third star. The story itself felt unfinished to me. I know it was a novella, but the whole part with Ally and her dad was either completely unnecessary or totally unfinished. Why was he so adamant about her joining his pack? Was it a power thing? Want her to mate with a certain person thing? Then there is the wolf part. Is it still there? Did it go dormant again once they left pack land? There were just to many unanswered questions for me and no sign of their story continuing since the ending was a year in the future.
I loved this book! Livell James is a natural born story teller! You will not be let down!
Can’t wait for more from this series!!
